    - cash only - a lot of meat - meat was pretty juicy and fatty - good amount of rice - couldn't finish a plate myself, would've preferred to share - has seating - open parking

The food was SO GOOD. And the amount of food for the price was great. We devoured our plates and left extremely happy and full. Pretty quick service too! (They even threw in a free soda because they were getting ready to close - we were super glad we caught them!) I had the chicken and my husband had the kalbi, and both were amazing! We went kind of late so didn't have any troubles parking (the parking area there is pretty large so probably wouldn't be an issue during a busier time either). And there was also plenty of seating, both covered and uncovered options. Perfect ambiance for a low-key, relaxed evening meal.

Wow!! Massive portions! Well worth the price! Came to this food truck in a center with a lot of food trucks, stands, shoppings spots etc. make sure to come and eat with a friend here because the portions are gigantic. The meat is tender and cooked perfectly, comes with noodles and rice. I recommend bringing cash. They have a spot across the street with a bar and drinks, smoothies, açaí bowls, Thai food etc it's all near by. Great spot to come with families, groups, friends, on a date etc. nice covered area to sit outside!

The mandoo is amazing. The service was great, very cheerful staff. The flavor was on point. Highly recommended!!

Best food truck in Kahuku for some delicious very flavorful Kalbi ribs & Ribeye! If you're craving meat, this is the best place to come! This place is so underrated compared to other food trucks. They need to also be featured on television or something!! Their name is just right. They live up to their name very well.

The best Korean bbq short ribs ever! This is my fav food truck! I will always drive up to North Shore just to get a plate of this wonderful food.

I'm gonna go ahead and make the statement that this is my all time favorite kalbi on the island. Today I ordered the kalbi plate with rice and japchae and the bbq pork plate with rice and japchae and both were excellent. The only reason I took off one star is because I wish the kalbi ribs weren't so fatty. The flavor is so good but just a bit too much fat. They use a similar marinade on the pork chop and we devoured both. This is the first time we stopped by here without getting the Giovanni's garlic shrimp plate which is another favorite of mine but I was feeling like some good bbq protein today. Check them out as another option when you can and thank me later.

Best K-BBQ food truck! Been coming here for years and quality & taste hasn't changed. The ohana that runs this food truck is super sweet and we always stop by when on the NS.

Man don't pass on this! Definitely a must if you are in the North Shore area! The kalbi was soooooo good hands down! We got to the place right when it opened so we only waited 15 minutes! This is going to be a yearly visit for us now!

Move over all your four choicee Korean joints. Step off pretenders claiming you have the best kalbi on the island just because you have "kalbi" in your name. This is the new "best". Thin sliced, bone in, deeply marinated the Korean way (you can taste the Asian pear) before flame grilling to a perfect medium. The smell is hedonistic. The flavor deep and comforting. Pulling the chewy sinew off the bone and savoring the fat all added bonuses. Other offerings include marinated chicken and ribeye. Neither sampled. When you've found perfection, why deviate? $20. Locals, tip and you'll probably get an extra fourth piece of kalbi or a free drink. Plenty of self service, covered seating. Look for the yellow school bus and the colorful sign with dominating Korean characters. Five visits. Consistently great. Unexpected find.

Food 10/10 and service 10/10. If you want fire BBQ, come here you won't regret it. Me and my husband are HUGE foodies and we came back twice in a day

Come to the North Shore for Giovanni's, but stay for the Kalbi! Giovanni's is probably on every tourists list that comes to Oahu, especially when visiting the North Shore, however, besides the garlic shrimp that you can have, there is some seriously delicious eats besides that shrimp truck there - might I introduce you to Kalbi on Fire This small business is located next to Giovanni's on that same parking mall where you can find multiple other vendors. My husband had a hankering for some steak while we were in Hawaii, so while I was in line at Giovanni's he walked over to Kalbi on Fire. We ordered some steak and short ribs. WOW oh WOW! The meats were melt in your mouth good. Def check this place out if you're craving some hearty beef and rice.

If you like shrimp, and can handle a smidge of spice, you'll probably like the Cajun version. However, the limiting factor could be location. We ordered the Spicy Shrimp and the Shrimp Scampi plates, and neither was impressive. The food came out almost instantly, which proves it is not cooked to order. Because it sits around, the shrimp is incredibly difficult to peel. Anyone who cooks shrimp knows that if you do not peel it right after cooking, the shell sticks to the meat, which was exactly the case here. The Spicy Shrimp had a decent kick, but it lacked actual flavor. The Shrimp Scampi was better but still bland. Honestly, 9 out of 10 shrimp places back home in Southern California make a better plate. To make things worse, the two ladies managing the truck were rude. My wife asked for extra napkins, not realizing some were already in the bag. The worker snapped back, "Are those not enough?" and made her feel super awkward. We also asked for a cup of ice to go with our canned sodas. They flatly refused and told us to ask another truck nearby. Luckily, the other truck owners were much nicer and gave us the ice. Save your time and money. There are much better, friendlier options out there.

We drove up to get there just before noon on a Saturday. It was rainy, so the numbers were a bit light in the area, but there were still thirteen people in line when the truck opened for business. The owner was fun, friendly, and engaging the customers in conversations while prepping the food. There are times when I think some food truck owners take on the role of a short order cook and get annoyed that you don't understand "how" you're supposed to order; that was certainly NOT the case here. You just need to decide if you want a hot or regular sandwich and whether you want bleu cheese or special sauce. We got one hot and one regular, but the chicken is HUGE and two adults can easily share one sandwich. I'm torn, because while we would probably order just one sandwich next time, I also want to support the business and get two. The chicken was as good as everyone told us and had incredible crispy batter. The fries though...those were maybe the best I've ever had. I don't normally love the double cooked style fry, but could live off those and never get tired of them. FYI...we took ours to eat at the Beer Garden about 100 yards to the west and that's a winning combo.

This being my next visit since seeing that episode, I had to try it. What did I order? - Mikes Huli Chicken Plate $17: 4/5 Stars - Chicken is a nice half chicken portion, perfectly juicy, nicely slight char taste. Crispy skin? I got the #9 plate, which is kalua pork, huli chicken, and I got mac salad. The kalua pork meat itself was fine. Not gristly and not too fatty. The sauce is amazing and I do think it's delicious with the sauce. Rice was just rice. Meh. Even adding shoyu didn't add much flavor to it, to be honest. The mac salad is extremely bland. I don't know if they need to add some acid to the mayonnaise or more salt, but it was pasty and no flavor. I would honestly skip getting the mac salad next time and get regular salad! That's how bad this mac salad was. Two slices of pineapple on the plate were fresh and flavorful. I did enjoy these. Service was okay. I had asked if they still honored kama'aina discount and was told no. That's fine; I understand not all places offer discounts. I don't know when kama'aina discount stopped being offered, but back in the day I used to receive it when asking. I did notice though that two guys who ordered before me got a "mahalo, braddah" in a friendly tone but I got a terse "thanks." Guess haole girls don't get mahalos even if local. It's just uncomfortable when certain people get friendly, effusive mahalos and others get terse thanks, like I didn't want to be serving you food today. Maybe cause it was Mother's Day and they didn't want to be there? Sure didn't feel like 'ohana today. So many flies around, it made eating uncomfortable. A few fly fans on tables but not at the one where I was seated, so it was basically like constantly shooing away flies and trying to take a bite of food super fast before they came back on my food. Probably I should have taken my food away and gone to the beer garden nearby with fewer flies. Meh. I used to really like Mike's but I will stick to Da Bald Guy and Seven Brothers when I visit the sugar mill in the future.
