Was staying at turtle bay and was hungry for something not too expansive but yummy and the hubby was craving meat so found this lovely place that was about an 8 minute drive. There was no line which made it quick to get our meal and the customer service was nice as I was deciding between the ribeye or galbi. Plenty of seating outside to sit with roosters walking around. Food came out hot and yummy. It was a little salty but was good if you ate it was the rice and japchae. The food was SO GOOD. And the amount of food for the price was great. We devoured our plates and left extremely happy and full. Pretty quick service too! (They even threw in a free soda because they were getting ready to close - we were super glad we caught them!) I had the chicken and my husband had the kalbi, and both were amazing! We went kind of late so didn't have any troubles parking (the parking area there is pretty large so probably wouldn't be an issue during a busier time either). Came to this food truck in a center with a lot of food trucks, stands, shoppings spots etc. make sure to come and eat with a friend here because the portions are gigantic. I'm gonna go ahead and make the statement that this is my all time favorite kalbi on the island. Today I ordered the kalbi plate with rice and japchae and the bbq pork plate with rice and japchae and both were excellent. The only reason I took off one star is because I wish the kalbi ribs weren't so fatty. The flavor is so good but just a bit too much fat. They use a similar marinade on the pork chop and we devoured both. This is the first time we stopped by here without getting the Giovanni's garlic shrimp plate which is another favorite of mine but I was feeling like some good bbq protein today. We have a new go-to place in the kahuku area. We saw the yelp rating was high and decided to give this place a try (thank you, yelpers!) We are big fans of their kalbi short rib plate.. we swapped out the Mac salad for double of the jap chae noodles and did not regret it (both are super delicious ) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Not to mention that their food truck is a school bus! How cool is that?! And with plenty of shaded seating and the little "hut" seating at the front, it's definitely not boring. Not too friendly people unless you speak their language (which I don't know what it is). I asked if I could get the combination with chicken and kalbi ribs and he said no (which he does have and it was #4 on the menu). Food had flavor and was yummy with the exception of the noodles. Pretty sad scoop of japchae. Barely had any people at their school bus turned kitchen. If y'all were too stingy with your noodles, maybe you would get more customers. Or if you were more friendly, ask if it's your first time, do you have any questions about the menu...I get annoyed when people just take your money and don't care if you have any questions. I live in this small town of Kahuku and have been going to this food trucks for years. So inflation is real. Lol. And like everywhere, prices have gone up in this little truck.
