    Spicy Chicken Sandwich with fries
    Chrys H.

Amazing Chicken Sandwich if I had a choice personally I would get the regular, just cause the spicy gets really really messy. But the fries are to die for!!!!!

So I've been hearing about this place for weeks from a coworker who couldn't shut up about it, so I had to check it out. It's a pretty decent drive from Waikiki, but totally worth it. There are several other food vendors around, but it's not hard to find this spot and the Chef lets you know this will be the best chicken sandwich you ever had. So you walk up and get asked how many sandwiches you would like. The sandwiches are made in batches so they are fresh, so if you miss the current batch you get asked to wait till the next round. Then he begins frying each thigh and assembling the boxes. Then you get to choose between spicy or original and which sauce you want. Honestly can't go wrong. The sandwich is massive. I can say with all honesty it blew my mind. It was messy, but so worth it. You have to check this place out.

    See how huge!!!!!

Eighty Chicken Sandwiches is a popular food truck on Oahu known for its limited daily production of 80 made-to-order chicken sandwiches. It is a crispy buttermilk-fried chicken, juicy and flavorful, alongside hand-cut fries and a choice of dipping sauces like ranch or blue cheese. The owner gives great & friendly service in the duration of his busy business. The care and quality is still a great turn out despite the wait. The sandwiches are so popular they often sell out quickly, so it's recommended to arrive early. Area is convenient to find, easy parking out back area. Ordered regular wish I ordered spicy but just read up on can order half reg and half spicy. The chicken is surprisingly huge like other pictures I've seen! And loaded with fries it'll leave you full!

THE Chicken Sandwich - undipped (narrow side)

The best chicken sandwich on Island. Period. End of discussion. Boneless breast, buttermilk brined, dredged and lightly seasoned. Deep fried super crisp. Served on toasted brioche with tangy house made pickles, shredded lettuce and a choice of sauce. A pile of soft but freshly made fries accompanies it. Pulling the sandwich out of the box makes a mess. The chicken is massive! Double the size of the bun. Bite in and, hell yeah! Juicy AF! Prefer it spicy? Get it dipped in a tangy hot sauce. Think Nashville hot chicken. Half and half also an option. Want one? This is a one man operation, that said: - Open Saturday and Sunday ONLY exactly at Noon. Check IG for any last minute schedule changes. - No online or phone orders. You MUST join the line. - Exactly 80 chicken sandwiches are made each day. - 10-12 sandwiches are made at a time. Each batch of orders takes 20 minutes. Arrive 20 minutes early to be in the first group. Note: As of 2025, the price is $17 for the sandwich and fries (no drink included). Cash preferred but cards accepted. 75 mile, 2.5 hour drive and sweating under the hot Kahuku sun getting covered in dirt as cars drive by for 40+ minutes... yeah, it's worth it.

@fortunefoodfinds: "I couldn't help but CHICK y'all out! A Spicy Chicken Sandwich n' a Half Dipped (regular + spicy) that comes with handcut fries n' chose "that sauce" from Eighty Chicken Sandwiches up in Kahuku where only 80 sandwiches are made each Saturday n' Sunday. Lemme tell you, these chicken sandwiches were full-on massive n' came with fries piled high. The spicy one has the perfect amount of heat, just know that you won't be eating neat!" Staff: friendly Exterior: well maintained Wait time: 15-30 mins Parking: surrounding grass/dirt area Overall comments: very good, huge portion, 1 chicken sandwich with fries could feed two people, make sure to have wipes to clean your hands after you're pau, hidden gem where once you find it you are golden!

Have to give respect where it's due. Adam preps his chicken throughout the week, selling 80 each on Saturday and Sunday. When you order here you get a sandwich and fries, no drinks no adjustments except spicy or regular. Straightforward. The chicken tastes perfect, delicious, crisp, well cooked. The spicy has a very saucy taste, will come back to try the regular. Came on a Saturday at 1 pm (an hour or so after opening) and he only had 9 left. On top of that, Adam is an awesome guy who cares about his business but also making sure people are more than just satisfied with his service. It was a pleasure getting to know about him and shops history while waiting in line. Thanks Adam!

My dad had heard great things about this food truck, so we decided to give it a try. It's located all the way in Kahuku in a lot with a handful of other food trucks. The lot can get busy, but you can always find parking in the back area in an unmarked stall. Eighty chicken sandwiches is run by a stay at home dad who makes eighty chicken sandwiches on both Saturday and Sunday. You know when a food truck only makes one thing, they're going to do it well. We got to the lot around 11:20, and we were the first people around. We didn't actually get in line until 11:40, and only about three other parties were behind us at that time. By the time he opened up at noon, the line had at least 15-20 parties. It's hard to say what time to get there at, but the earlier the better. When he opened, he moved everyone into a shaded area and gave his whole run down of his truck and how the process was going to work. He asks the first groups of people in line how many sandwiches they're ordering and makes groups of ten sandwiches. Your options for sandwiches are regular/spicy/half and half and options for sauces on the side are blue cheese or house sauce. It comes with fries, and he really loaded up our fries. We got both a regular and half. The chicken piece was HUGE and was triple the size of the bread. The chicken is breaded to perfection. Fries had the perfect amount of salt, and I liked how it still had the skin on it. The spicy sandwich had more of a buffalo kick to it. Great food truck that this guy has! I would definitely recommend trying this place, but come early if you are!

    It's that good!

EIGHTY CHICKEN SANDWICHES This food truck serves Chicken Sandwiches and hand-cut fries at Kahuku Sugar Mill. It only opens on the weekends at noon and serves 80 sandwiches until they sell out. They are made to order, and I suggest you eat them there while it's hot! I got one regular and one spicy, both with hand-cut fries, of course! They were both juicy, tender, and finger-licking good! I thought the spicy one had just the right amount of spice. It's a nice-sized chicken sandwich, too! The Sugar Mill is a great place to enjoy some delicious chicken sandwiches while exploring the beautiful area of Kahuku. Eighty Chicken Sandwiches 56-505 Kamehameha Hwy. I love a place the specializes in one thing. No fuss no frills just good food. My husband and I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. It was not very spicy, just good flavor. The chicken sandwiches are huge and for $17 I thought this was such a good deal! The meal comes with the huge sandwich, fries and your choice of house made blue cheese or ranch. I really liked the blue cheese because there were huge chunks of cheese. Fries were a bit a salty, but the sandwich was 10/10. Get there early because he only makes 80 sandwiches when he's open and when he's out, he's out.

My massive chicken sandwich, half mild, half dipped in spicy sauce. The bun did what it could to keep my hands clean.

I like the idea of a person figuring out exactly what they want to do and then having the chance to make their dream a reality. I love the fact that this food truck is open for under three hours every weekend and consistently delivers the results of one man's dream. I'd heard about this crazy food truck. That people line up an hour ahead of time to insure that they be one of the lucky eighty people who get to eat a chicken sandwich that day. That the weather does not matter, and that no one minds the lack of nearby tables. That the drive to the Kahuku Sugar Mill trucks is absolutely worthwhile just for this sandwich. With all of this in mind I picked a rainy Sunday during football season to make the forty minute drive, figuring it was my best chance. Sure enough, the line had already started to form when I arrived just before the window opened for the day. The line itself is neatly corralled in a space between Hilton's Art trailer and the also excellent Get'Cha Roll On gourmet eggroll stand. It is directly across the road from the truck, and creates a cheerful murmur of conversation among those waiting. My suggestion is to order a flavored lemonade from the Eggroll stand while you wait, as they sell out early as well. Your choices are minimal. You can have your sandwich mild, spicy, or half dipped in the spicy sauce. You can choose blue cheese or "Dat Sauce" to accompany your sandwich, and you can choose a bottle of water or a can of lilikoi drink. You can also order more than one sandwich, but he makes ten at a time, so he will call people forward in batches Your sandwich will arrive in a waxed cardboard box buried under a massive amount of delicious French fries and the sauce will be tucked in the corner along with a portion of ketchup. That's it. The sandwich is big, juicy, and truly worth the quest. I ate half of my fries on the way to my car and then sat and enjoyed the massive sandwich. I asked for it to be half dipped, and enjoyed both experiences, but will order it mild next time. The spicy sauce made the batter just a bit too wet and masked the excellent blend of spices used. Good luck on being one of the lucky ones when you go!

So a couple times I came here and they were sold out so I was super stoked to see them open on the day and still have chicken sandwiches. The owner was super cool guy we talked for a little while. But I did end up getting two chicken sandwiches one spicy and one regular the chicken was way bigger than the bread. So I ate the spicy one first and man it was good. But I was so full I had to save the other one for the next day and let me tell you it was just as good the next day as it was on the day he made the sandwich. Would definitely go again.

Spicy Chicken Sandwich with fries. $17!!!

This man is a genius! Why do anything else if what you serve is the best?! Great concept, great food and more importantly, great service. You may need to wait for this enormous chicken sandwich, but it is definitely worth the wait. It's served regular or spicy or we even heard people order it half dipped. Comes with sauce and ketchup for dipping. The chicken and fries were cooked to perfection. My husband is now claiming to have eaten the best chicken sandwich he's ever had...I won't tell him he's wrong. I'm happy that my husband and I decided to share because it's huge. However, my husband says he will not share with me the next time because he will attempt to eat the whole thing. It's definitely worth the hype! I'm glad I read about this place and even seen it on YouTube. The price was reasonable for this high quality sandwich. We paid $17 plus tip. He takes cash or Venmo so be prepared. If you haven't tried this place yet, do yourself a favor and go eat here. Only open on the weekends until he sells out.

We ordered the Spicy Shrimp and the Shrimp Scampi plates, and neither was impressive. The food came out almost instantly, which proves it is not cooked to order. Because it sits around, the shrimp is incredibly difficult to peel. Anyone who cooks shrimp knows that if you do not peel it right after cooking, the shell sticks to the meat, which was exactly the case here. The Spicy Shrimp had a decent kick, but it lacked actual flavor. The Shrimp Scampi was better but still bland. Honestly, 9 out of 10 shrimp places back home in Southern California make a better plate. To make things worse, the two ladies managing the truck were rude. My wife asked for extra napkins, not realizing some were already in the bag. The worker snapped back, "Are those not enough?" and made her feel super awkward. We also asked for a cup of ice to go with our canned sodas. They flatly refused and told us to ask another truck nearby. Luckily, the other truck owners were much nicer and gave us the ice. Save your time and money. There are much better, friendlier options out there.

Meh. I feel like the quality of Mike's has gone downhill…read more I stopped by yesterday during a trip to the North Shore to get some lunch. I got the #9 plate, which is kalua pork, huli chicken, and I got mac salad. The kalua pork meat itself was fine. Not gristly and not too fatty. However, barely any smoke taste to it and was fairly bland. The huli chicken didn't have crispy skin. It seemed lukewarm like it had been cooked a while earlier and was just sitting. The sauce is amazing and I do think it's delicious with the sauce. Rice was just rice. Meh. Even adding shoyu didn't add much flavor to it, to be honest. The mac salad is extremely bland. I don't know if they need to add some acid to the mayonnaise or more salt, but it was pasty and no flavor. I would honestly skip getting the mac salad next time and get regular salad! That's how bad this mac salad was. Two slices of pineapple on the plate were fresh and flavorful. I did enjoy these. Service was okay. I had asked if they still honored kama'aina discount and was told no. That's fine; I understand not all places offer discounts. I don't know when kama'aina discount stopped being offered, but back in the day I used to receive it when asking. I did notice though that two guys who ordered before me got a "mahalo, braddah" in a friendly tone but I got a terse "thanks." Guess haole girls don't get mahalos even if local. It's just uncomfortable when certain people get friendly, effusive mahalos and others get terse thanks, like I didn't want to be serving you food today. Maybe cause it was Mother's Day and they didn't want to be there? Sure didn't feel like 'ohana today. So many flies around, it made eating uncomfortable. A few fly fans on tables but not at the one where I was seated, so it was basically like constantly shooing away flies and trying to take a bite of food super fast before they came back on my food. What did I order? - Mikes Huli Chicken Plate $17: 4/5 Stars - Chicken is a nice half chicken portion, perfectly juicy, nicely slight char taste. Crispy skin?
