This is such a sad state of affairs when you see a mall like this slowly becoming a ghost town. They've had so many businesses close like mattress firm (not that I ever went there) and LA fitness which was sad since I like to work out there before going to Burke Williams for a spa day. Goodness... I literally wish that I could give this four or five stars. The Kaleidoscope has been here a long time. It has so much potential to bring so much to the community of Mission Viejo. Management of this property is absolutely horrible. It could be so beautiful and hip, instead it's becoming a ghost town. Nothing ever lasts in this plaza. What's consistently been here has been the movie theaters and the Burke Williams spa. Everything else comes and goes. They can't even fix the escalator which has been broken for many years. The escalator steps are steep, so they're not simple stairs to go up or down if you have mobility issues. There is an elevator behind the spa if needed. I don't know why I never take them. I think I just forget that they're even there. Parking is available at street and underground level. I love going upstairs and really, that's where they could really bring in the money. There are strung lights making it so pretty and there is a fire pit right outside the theater. It really is nice. The union market would be a money maker and I love the concept of multiple food vendors, drinks, desserts, shops, etc. all in one place. Even bring in live music. There are other places with the exact concept and they bring in so much patrons. They're usually poppin' especially Thursday through the weekend. Some of the businesses still there as of May 2026 by memory. This outdoor mall is awful. We parked in the parking structure, which smelled like rotten food and sewage, and there was even a metal clearance pole hanging down in the middle of the garage. Every escalator we came across was out of service. The entire place looks old, unkempt, abandoned, and haunted. Had a fun time at Kaleidoscope! Church is on Sundays so there's a lot of traffic. There's a theater, restaurants like Indian & Shabu Shabu, Color Me Mine, and there's excellent coffee!! The girl helping us at Color Me Mine was thorough and answered every possible question I might have. She was kind and never pressured us to leave! My friend and I had many choices of ceramics to choose from! There's dishes like mugs, dishes, flower vases, piggy banks, and much more. The more practical the ceramic the more value and cost. It was a beautiful sunny day with our little matcha coffee and some paint. I recommend a visit! read more

Dear Continuum Analytics (Property Owner)....please spend some money on this place. When you bought it back in October 2023, you promised to revitalize and explore other redevelopment options. This place has so much promise, yet when you are walking through it you'll experience neglect and run-down features. With tenants such as Burke Williams, Regal Cinemas and even Mariners Church, the bones of this property are there. It looks great from the outside and an outstanding location, yet other than going to church, the movies or getting a massage, there is no appeal to come here and walk around or hang out. I think this could be an outstanding addition to the South Orange County social scene, but for now, just a place to come with wanting to experience a specific business. read more

Ghost town! I only visited Hana to eat lunch but I think I only saw 1 other restaurant/shop that was open; can't confirm official open restaurants/shops since I went directly to the top floor. I believe the movie theater is still operational. The escalators within the parking structure work but the escalators within the mall do not. I would suggest to park on the level you're wanting to visit if you want to shave some time off climbing stairs. I think there's a time limit on the parking but not sure if it's enforced. Plenty of parking and they have charging stations for your EV. If there was more shade, I'd come back to eat or drink outside. You could probably get some good steps without having a crowd; plus you could take the non-working escalators for your stairs/climbing exercise. Their website is officially expired. The new Concrete Coffee has been 2 other coffee shops and sometimes vacant just over the past few years. The entire Union Market is pretty much dead. What a joke of a center. Half of it is empty. Escalator never works. Do you think that could be a problem? Driving in to the main entrance from CV looks like the ceiling is falling, maybe a truck hit it? Only thing worth going there is Sal's and maybe the movie theatre. I was worried even the movie had closed. Looks dark from the outside . Feel so sorry for the few restaurants still there. Why not just tear it down and put housing there. DMV should have moved there but people were so worried about the traffic it might have brought. That youthful mindset and mental sharpness made me appreciate Kaleidoscope even more because it reminded me how important it is for teenagers to have places where they can feel inspired and free. I feel like the management company has kind of given up with the Kaleidoscope center. On my last visit, two or three escalators were out of order and the one elevator I saw was also non-functioning. I guess it's a requirement to be mobile in order to visit this center? There wasn't anyone I could ask to see if there was another working lift... (note: I currently have a stress fracture, so didn't really love walking up and down escalators.) That aside: there really isn't a draw to bring someone here. I did have a Burke Williams membership for a while. That got me here... but I'd never walk around the center afterwards. I did come to the cinema this past week -- for the first time in probably a decade. At least parking was decent. I never see anyone in the gym when I drive by anymore. Fix the escalators and the air conditioning! It's dangerous to have people using turned off escalators as stairs, especially when they are steep. If the escalators are shut off to save costs, that's a big problem and raises safety concerns. There are some businesses that seem to be doing just fine and other spaces that stay empty. I went up in the elevator as a wheelchair user and was not able to get back down due to both escalator and elevators not working. Such a disappointing plaza. We wanted to check out Kaleidoscope to see if it is similar to the Tustin District but it couldn't be any sadder. First off, the entire first floor is dead. The Mariner's Church took over more than half of the first floor. The second floor has a couple of restaurants still open and there's an operating Union Market (Tustin's shut down in 2022). Nonetheless, the place seemed like it used to have a lot of potential but not so much anymore. Hopefully it'll get a makeover somewhere down the line. read more

Normally I don't do this but after 2 incidents I needed to share. The kaleidoscope shopping center off off crown valley has not fixed there escalators or elevators in months. This does not affect me but when I was there last week for dinner I saw a "little person" with leg disabilities and a cane climbing the damn escalator stairs and the poor guy was apologizing to the line of people behind him. I told him he should sue the center. Then today my wife tells me that her work colleague took her disabled mother there for dinner a few days ago and the same situation played out. This woman can't walk without a walker. Had to climb the escalator and felt so embarrassed. There are a couple spots at Kaleidoscope that are worth checking out and Regal is one of them. Decided to see a movie with my date yesterday which was really great! Haven't been here in years and was surprised to see how much this plaza hasn't changed which isn't a bad thing at all. We got to the plaza around 7pm and found parking immediately! Most of the lower level was closed due to it being a Sunday. The Jump n' Jammin is completely empty and the Yogurtland was closed for the night. We didn't venture more into the plaza cause we had a movie to catch. The top level of this plaza is where the fun is at! I was happy to see Riptide was still in business! They also have a center called union market and a buffalo wild wings. Would love to stop by to check these places out when they're open! One thing I recommend is taking off the big sign advertising Jump n' Jammin unless you plan to bring them back. Overall my date and I had a very nice time at the movies. We'll be back to check out some of the other attractions in the plaza. read more

Cool place, beautiful specially at night! HOWEVER!!!! Their parking lot is terrible! The signage is poorly displayed and does not specify direction of travel. There are 3 levels but they are very confusing. We made 3 attempts until we finally figured it out. We are very savvy but the design of this parking structure is very bad. We also talked to our hotel staff and they even suggested that they avoid this shopping mall bc of the parking lot situation. One of the employees at the restaurant we visited admitted that she's been working there since it opened and she still gets lost. Then after you park (if on first level) you have to take electrical escalators up to your level and they are long and narrow makes me feel cluster phobic. read more

This is a review mostly for the movie theater. So basically this is a unknown hack. Get a Regal Unlimited pass and go to the Theater in this center. All of the seats are soft reclining seats. I may kick myself later for giving up the secret once this place starts getting busy again. read more

If it wasn't for the movie theater, it would be difficult to ever want to come to this place. I can't call it a mall, because it doesn't have any retail stores. They have a cool laser tag place for kids, a bunch of food spots, color me mine and Burke Williams spa. It is all pretty random. From what I understand, a lot of places have closed due to covid. No more yogurt land :( I do come to the spa sometimes, but the parking is usually so frustrating. Almost the whole first floor is devoted to parking for LA fitness or 90 minute spots. It's somehow always crowded in the evenings, but I don't know what people do here other than the movies. I feel like it should be described as an eatery or something. It's like a shopping center but in a mall shape. I know they've tried to make it work for awhile, but most of the spaces come and go within the blink of an eye. The shopping here is minimal, but the food spots are plentiful, but not the best. I will say the shining light here is the Union Market and really the only reason to come here unless you're seeing a movie at the Regal theater.
