The other watch was my dad's watch that he gave to me shortly before he passed away. They listened to me tell them a little bit about the watch and my dad, and found the problem right away. It needed a new movement. They ordered the Swiss movement and had it working perfectly within the timeframe they quoted me. The pricing was very reasonable and the service was excellent. I couldn't be happier with the service and hospitality I received from this fascinating shop. They also have a lot of interesting items for sale. I brought my wife and they discussed grandkids, pop culture, and military stories while I explored the well organized and clean store. Everything was displayed nicely and clearly labeled with prices. They have a nice selection of current & past comics, some nice slabs and a couple $1 & discount bins. My wife picked up (4) Funko Pops (BTS) for our Daughter. Plenty of great stuff to look through and a little something for most fans. We really enjoyed our conversation & visit, and will definitely be back when visiting the area. Got scammed by the dude, he forced me to buy a comic after I read it in the store. I was killing…read moretime with a couple friends, I don't even like comic books. There were no signs or anything saying if I read it I had to buy it. I picked up a random comic (he saw me do it and didn't say anything) and flipped through a couple pages. I put it back on the shelf and he said I have to buy it because it was now "Used". On my way out of the store he used a rude tone and made me buy it before leaving. Bad experience, will never go back there. If there was signage or something that explained I'd have to buy it, I wouldn't have read it in the first place.

They buy and sell boxes, packs, and individual cards as well. The staff has always been friendly, and as someone whose 11-year-old son is getting into Pokémon cards, I really appreciate how kindly they treat him, even though he's just a kid. That doesn't go unnoticed. This store isn't just for kids, though. There are plenty of adults who come to play games and hang out, which makes for a cool community vibe. One nice feature is a computer system in the back where you can look up their card inventory. The interior isn't the most aesthetically pleasing, but it serves its purpose well, and the staff makes it a good experience. I'm glad places like this exist--where people can gather, play, and just enjoy themselves. One funny thing: for the longest time, I had no idea what the store was because it's called "Amazing Discoveries," and I wasn't exactly sure what amazing discoveries were happening inside. But once I figured out what it was, I've been back several times--and I know I'll be going even more often with my son.

Collector's Choice Comics is my go-to comic shop whenever I'm in the Tempe area. The store is…read morealways well stocked with both new releases and back issues, and it's the only shop I've found that consistently carries a large inventory of Spawn back issues, including several key issues. I've checked out other comic shops around the Valley, but none of them seem to have the Spawn selection that Collector's Choice does. They also have a great selection of graded comics and variants, which makes browsing even more fun. One thing to know before visiting: new releases and back issues are handled as separate transactions. So if you bring a mixed stack to the counter, expect to do one transaction for the new books and another for the back issues. I've never asked why they do it that way, but after shopping here several times, it's just something I expect. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming. During my last visit, the owner was interacting with customers by offering 25% off any item in the store to anyone who could correctly answer his random comic trivia question. Nobody got it right while I was there, but it was a really fun way to engage with customers. For the curious, the question was: "What was the final issue of Conan the Barbarian published by Marvel?" Answer: #275. If you're a comic collector--especially a Spawn fan--this place is absolutely worth checking out.
