Do not go here. It's as simple as that. Although way too expensive, this food is pretty good. It's just the atmosphere and the people that suck. The seating area is small, cluttered and dirty. The people that make your food and hand it to you are the owners. They are grumpy and don't smile. You feel like they don't want you there. Best teriyaki in Marysville. It's a bit longer wait due to freshly preparing the meal. Servings are big and meats are tender(not like carne asada at most Mexican eatery)so be ready for a tummy-full of your choice. Fried rice is also very good. There's ample seating for a small place and take-out usually is a 'wait' but well worth it building up your appetite too. The teriyaki sauce is awesome but I tell him to keep it off the hot rice..gotta watch my weight. This place has been here for more than 20yrs they kept it simple and not over price but also the amount of food is always big portion. And it's always spot on good. They don't do Uber eats or door dash the owner kept it the way it is for 20yrs even price point is always a value for the amount of food you'll get and they're successful with it. I work in Bellevue area and I don't even want to order teriyaki from that area since everything is like $18-$20+ range. Crazy how you can still find local legit teriyaki place like Kami. We were doing some hardcore holiday shopping all day at the Premium Outlets and at the end of the tiring mission we were craving for some good food to fill us up and teriyaki seemed to be the dish our stomachs agreed to. The traffic was pretty bad on i5 so we decided to scout the area for the closest one (thx yelp iphone app! a must have btw!) Kami Teriyaki is 5min away, super close to the outlets. You just have to cross the bridge across i5 and pass Winco and it'll be right there. Service was nice and polite, took longer than expected though for the food to come out. We were "dining in" but I did notice several people picking up take out orders that they have called in advance. Our Japanese exchange students thoroughly enjoyed his CHICKEN KATSU meal. I had a bite of it and it had the perfect crunchiness and texture to it. The katsu sauce was delicious and that is what seals the deal. I have a regular teriyaki joint and a special teriyaki joint and this place is the special one. Something about the sauce where it's got that soy taste and then some sweetness and it's thicc. I usually get the chicken teriyaki and a side order of chicken. Or a chicken fried rice and side of chicken. Each one is good and more than enough food for 2 people or 1 hungry person like me. I will say call ahead and plan on a 20-30 minute wait. That is the only downside. read more

The spring rolls are not my favorite, but the family loves them, I think they are a little soggy and lack flavor. The salad dressing is so good it should be bottled and sold on premise!! The hot and spicy chicken was very good, although it wasn't as hot as other places I have been. This is my favorite place to go for pork teriyaki. And I hate pork no matter what you do to it, so thats saying something. Most of their food is amazing but that has to be my favorite. This is THE BEST teriyaki in town. My family has been going here for over 15 years and has not once had a problem with them. EVER. They have always been so nice and not only does their food taste the best but their portions are crazy good! They need to renovate and update the restaurant but don't let that scare you, it's amazing. No trip to see my Mum and Dad would be complete without us going to get some teriyaki takeout from these guys. There aren't quite as many teriyaki places where I live, so this is a simple treat we all enjoy. Everybody's favorite is the pork teriyaki. For some reason I still can't fathom, of the places in LA that do serve teriyaki, virtually none of them have pork teriyaki on the menu. Of the minuscule number of them that I have tried in LA, NONE of them are worth a repeat order. Kami Teriyaki, on the other hand, is the polar opposite. It is scrumptious. It is grilled well, juicy, tender, and flavorful. Their teriyaki sauce hits a unique balance between not being too glop-salty-thick and not being too thing. Kami's is just right. They cook their rice pretty well too. You'd think this would go without saying, but I have run into plenty of places where you could not take perfectly cooked rice for granted. Again, Kami hits the right mark on this as well. The prices there are fantastic. I'd be hitting this place every dang week if I lived around here. I was tempted for half a second to get their short rib teriyaki, but I gravitated toward the pork. I'm sure it is awesome, but I need to try it. We usually get the egg rolls too. They're good, but not great. I should really try one in the restaurant since that sort of thing doesn't always travel well as takeout, so I am not really critical so much of that. It's just that the ingredients that comprise the filling are just a bit weaker in flavors. The salads they serve with them are a nice addition as well. Just a simple salad with a sort of buttermilk type dressing tossed in with iceberg lettuce. I LOVE this place. Is it fast when you call in an order? No. Is it really good though? Yes. I love that they have "side chicken" orders, which is just the chicken teriyaki for those who don't care for the rice. The teriyaki sauce they use is on the sweeter side of the places I've tried so if you prefer a saltier sauce this won't be your spot. I assume it'll be a while since I was third in line and the lady in front of me ordered ahead and still didn't get her food, so I left to get food for my Wife. I come back and he looks at me like Im crazy, couldnt remember who I was. I was like "Uhh my Teriyaki?" and with a smart ass grin on his face asked where I went, and told me gave my food away and told me to sit down for another one. About 5 minutes later the guy just offhandedly tells me it's ready. I get home; no eating utensils, no teriyaki sauce on the chicken, Salad has no dressing on it. After eight hours of driving, we actually stopped at Magic Dragon by Winco first. At 9pm on a Tuesday, the food there was looking worse than we felt, so we pressed on to Kami Teriyaki down the street, with crossed fingers the kitchen would still be open. It was, and in fact there were three other customers in there. The cashier kindly took our order for chicken teriyaki and yakisoba, and about ten minutes later we were handed a bag with two very full takeout containers inside. Actually, there were three boxes; a burger-sized box contained a good portion of lightly-dressed salad that came with my teriyaki and our toddler virtually inhaled (I didn't feel as strongly about it, but it was still a nice accompaniment to my meal). Basically, for under $15, we got enough fresh food to feed maybe 3-4 moderately hungry adults, which is obviously an amazing value. Now perhaps we got extra supersized portions (there must have been 2-3 chicken breasts in my meal) because we were the last customers of the night, but I'm guessing they're always generous from the other reviews. Both of our meals were excellent; definitely some of the very best we've had anywhere, and we get teriyaki and Japanese food quite a bit! I was more impressed with my teriyaki meal, but of course our toddler loved Hubby's yakisoba noodles. The only thing we wished for was more teriyaki sauce (although we could have purchased that for 25 cents per portion). We were also impressed with the customer service here. When we told the cashier we were just passing through town and asked if he had any ideas on where we could sit and eat, he invited us to stay in the restaurant, even though it was past closing time. He didn't have to do that, and even though we ate quickly, we were still there until 9:30. If we're passing through Marysville at mealtime again, we'll definitely be back to Kami Teriyaki! read more
