You could tell the guy behind the bar knew what he was doing because that has got to be the best Spicy Tuna Roll I have ever had. I dunno what was so decadent about it but WOW. I was truly impressed! Been here before. Usually pretty decent. Today just seemed a little skimpy on the portions and the seaweed salad had a weird aftertaste. Also when you order something togo I figured it would come with chopsticks or any utensils. I will most likely find another place for sushi. Good tempura, solid sushi, and subpar entrees, all at a high price We ordered the Philly roll and the House roll, which were both very good. The tempura that accompanied my boyfriend's entree was also quite nice. Unfortunately, the beef in the Tokyo Special and the chicken in the Chicken Udon were as tough as nails. To add insult to injury, the udon noodles were underdone and the broth was bland. Service was a bit slow at first, but this improved later on. Our server was friendly. The interior of the restaurant is comfortable and inviting. Just stick with the sushi and tempura, and you'll be in good shape. read more

The first thing is train your waitress , before the door closes upon opening it , this young lady sitting is yelling how many and before you take 1 step in then she is shoving a menu at you like your stuck now. The food is Not Good dried out chicken -reheated- rice dried out drenched in 4oz of soy sauce . I should had taking a picture very disgusting in fact we took the food in a go box and left it for the homeless in Marysville. I hope they can find it to be enjoyable. My sister and I were looking for a sushi place close by while we were out running errands and we came across this place. Don't let the reviews fool you. This place definitely needed a recent review. Walking in we were welcomed and seated. Food was delicious. The sushi slices weren't too thick or too thin & they gave just the right amount of how many sushi in a plate. Miso soup was DELICIOUS! & the fried tempura was cooked perfectly. Although it was just us in the restaurant, people were coming in & ordering to go or picking up to go. What I love seeing is that they know their regulars & what they ordered if they changed something or not & by name too. Everyone walks out happy. Only reason why i'm giving it a 4 star is cause the price is up there but the sushi maker .. he was amazing! If you want really good Japanese food, this is the place to go. They have a very good selection of food on their menu. All the food is fresh. They have the best miso soup. I have had their bento box several times and have never been disappointed. Friendly people and good service. Large portions so you won't go hungry. I'd give a zero star if I could. I was there about 30 minutes ago and was left to just stand at the sign that says please wait to be seated. After 10 minutes 2 guys walked in and she asked them what they need. They had an order to pick up. She then asks me what I want. I replied that I just want to sit down and eat. She has the guys come up to wait and pay for their food and im still standing another five minutes. I finally left and came here to the paddle pub where the service is amazing. My husband and friends had come here recently and were raving about it so we gave it a shot for our anniversary this week since we both love sushi. It's in a strip mall and is a smaller restaurant with only a few staff so I understand people thinking it's slower service, there just aren't many people working. I will say half the people in there the waitress knew by name so that's always a good sign. She was also very nice and made us feel welcome. We started with gyoza which was good, nice and crunchy. Followed up with the 911, Philly and rainbow roll that were pictured here. All of the rolls were fresh and the rice was soft. My only complaint would be that the prices are a few dollars more per item than other places we go for the same quality food. I would certainly come back if I was in the area but would probably go somewhere closer otherwise. read more

Their prices are indeed steep (e.g. $21 for a rainbow roll), but you get what you pay for. It's obvious they didn't just get some guy off the street and teach him the basics of sushi rolling. The fish was fresh, beautifully prepared, and the flavors surprisingly complex. Frankly this was some of the best sushi we've had in the NE Puget Sound area in quite a while. The tempura vegetables officially made my list of things I can't do without. Wow. Delicious! Ashamed, I must admit vegetables are something I am still learning to like after years of being a picky eater. These were so good I almost ordered another plate (and the sauce!) Speaking of picky, I only recently started to enjoy sushi and only in the way of California rolls with no fish. I decided to try their salmon rolls and they were so good! It's a really nice atmosphere inside too, just to add. You almost forget where you are for a moment and there's just something about being able to create that experience. The can accommodate gluten free. We got tofu for an appetizer, chucks were large and hot and so very good. We got spicy tuna, Tokyo tuna and California roll covered in seafood. Hit the spot. Went here for the first time recently with one other person-- this is a close friend's favorite spot for sushi in the north-of-Seattle region. As others have mentioned, the waitress had absolutely no people skills and did the bare minimum. She hollered across the restaurant to greet every person who walked in the door and pushed a wheeled cart around to bus tables. I explained it was our first time to the restaurant and asked how the menu works along with the several handwritten whiteboards on the walls. She said she didn't know descriptions for the whiteboard food but could ask the chef if we wanted to know any in particular. Not a great way to sell menu items. We ordered miso soup and 3 rolls. The soup was excellent, very onion-forward which I like. The rolls were bland and TINY for the price. $18 for a 5-piece roll, even being large pieces, I expected to be blown away by the creativity and flavor. California roll was 8 smaller pieces but tasted entirely of mayonnaise. We overheard a conversation between the chef and waitress-- the California roll was premade and brought to us almost immediately after ordering. That's perfectly fine if it was made earlier in the day as a basic roll to have on hand or someone else had ordered and cancelled. Hearing the chef ask what table it was for and looking over at us then handing it to the waitress while laughing really rubbed me the wrong way. It was definitely refrigerator-cold. About 5 minutes into the drive home, both of us were hit with intense stomach pains. My stomach was in pain the rest of the night and felt off for a few days after. A group of us dined here for our friends birthday party. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Reservations are accepted. Large parties are requested to pre-order rolls before arrival. Tabs were easily split. Indoors is small and clean. The front counter showcases fresh colorful seafood. One can also sit at this counter and watch the magic happen. Tokyo House offers Sake, Asian beer and a slim selection of wine. My wife ordered a bottle of Sapporo for $7.99 and I ordered a glass of Cab for $6. My wife ordered the Chicken Teriyaki for $9.99: boneless chicken in teriyaki sauce served with white rice and a side salad. My wife stated that she enjoyed her dinner choice. I ordered the Spider Roll (5 pieces) for $12.99. My roll was visually appealing and delectable. I'm a sushi novice so I'm unsure of pricing; however, I found my roll to be a bit expensive for the amount received. My daughter ordered the Mexican Roll (5 pieces) for $8.99. I ended up enjoying this roll better than the Spider Roll. Much more flavorful with a mild hint of spice. Delightful. Service was slow (not a big deal to our group since we were visiting one another) and friendly. Tokyo House has room for improvement where tabs are concerned. Each of our tabs were delivered on a handwritten receipt showing only the total charge and tax. Future receipts should be delivered showing itemization (description and price) to ensure correct charges are being applied. Overall, we had a great time. If this wasn't the owner at the sushi bar and family as our server, I would be shocked. The service was killer. The place was empty when we arrived and people waiting when we left and our service, even though only one server, was spectacular from start to finish. The chefs roll is the chefs kiss to this menu. Good gravy this roll was delicious. The tuna, yellow tail and salmon sushi melted in my mouth like butter as well. So fresh. The Puget Sound roll was delicious because, come on, avocado and cream cheese are in love, like truly passionately in love and are meant to be together nestled into their salmon and seaweed blanket. The house roll was spectacular because again, salmon + avocado + yellowtail are proof that the world can truly achieve happiness through the right combination of things. This place has always been 5 stars for me. The food is great, sushi is amazing (the best I've had outside of Seattle and San Francisco). The family who owns this place takes great care in what they do, their relationships with customers are important and they're just very sweet, kind people. Recently my girlfriends brought me here for my birthday; after dinner our waitress/hostess brought out a cake my friend had left with her earlier ... the friend who set this dinner up said the woman was very helpful. We shared 3 huge rolls, (my fave: spicy tempura tuna, Oso roll, and a spider), plus a big family style plate of teriyaki, rice, and perfectly cooked tempura veggies (I could just eat a whole dinner of those alone too!). We went to have dinner and the place was busy on a Friday night. There were open tables and the waitress asked us to wait while she served other customers. We waited about 5 minutes and another couple came in behind us. The waitress then came up to us and said "we are maxed out. No table for you. I'm sorry" and dismissed us. As we were leaving, she asked the couple behind us "Hi, table for two?". It was obvious our service was just not welcomed. It was us two adults with our young son who is very well behaved. There are less than a handful of sushi spots in Arlington. This is the best if you're free wanting a sushi fix. I recommend you eat here if you have a lot of time in your hands. I only rate it three stars because it takes quite a bit of time to get your sushi. Other foods like teriyaki chicken and gyoza get to your table fast but not sushi. There's one to two sushi chefs. It's a small venue so it's a little more intimate. Do not get wine. I got Chardonnay and it seemed flat, almost like they served me a glass of wine from a bottle of wine that has been opened for a few days.
