Their broths are super rich and flavorful - we tried their house special and their Seabura broth - it is incredibly rich and tasty! I would recommend getting rice on the side ($3.25) and turning it into jook to not waste the broth! They do charge for additional seasoning like green onion or sesame sauce, but while I feel like I need it at other places, here, because of the quality of the meat and the flavor of the broth, it's not missed at all. Kamitoku Hotpot is one of my top choices for a delicious and great value lunch special! Their hotpot lunch sets are always delicious and well worth the price (usually around $12-15). The sets I've tried before came with either the Beefy Marina or the Sukiyaki broth, and both are great! The Beefy Marina is shoyu-based with a strong garlic flavor, and the Sukiyaki is both sweet and salty, perfect for cooking meat in. (If you aren't interested in the preset specials, I also love the Beefy Yuzu and Beefy Wild broths!) Although the hotpot ingredients in the lunch special are preset and not AYCE, you get a very reasonable portion of fresh meat, vegetables, and ramen noodles. I'd definitely suggest making a reservation if you're interested in trying this restaurant, as it is quite small. Also, possibly because of the restaurant size, there is usually only one server working at a time, meaning service can be a little slow. I personally don't mind though; their servers are always very friendly and patient! The Ribeye Yakiniku was full of umami and a marinated in a delicious teri sauce that make the ribeye so flavorful and soft. I had a team building dinner here on 10/10/25. We were able to reserve a table for 9 and thankfully we did. They aren't the largest inside, maybe able to seat 9 tables of 4. Since we were a party of 9, we were 3/pot and each had our own brother to cook with. We opted for the $30.00 AYCE dinner option (AYCE meat and broth, not veggies/etc) as the whole table needs to all get the same thing and we might as well! Of the manh choices of broth- I went with the beefy miso to be a little different and was not disappointed. The miso had a great flavor and I did not need the ponzu or any other dipping sauces to complement the ingredients. There were 3 cuts to choose from; Rye Round, Ribeye, and Pork Belly. Each had their own perks and were not skimpy plates each order. The pork belly and the ribeye were definitely favorites of mine and stood out a bit more than the eye round. Also included is a small serving of Napa Cabbage, some Choi Sum, and a serving of Ramen noodles. Overall, I would rate this ayce pretty well if you don't mind the lack of veggies. You can always order extra vegetables on the side (for a little extra) if you need. Overall 9/10, they were quite busy but they took time to make sure our orders were going well and keeping our broth above half way. Went for lunch and they had some pretty cheap lunch sets that I wanted to try but played it safe and just ordered the normal "pick your own" set. My friends and I all got the Ribeye $24. I had the Seabura broth at the ramen location so got it here too. Probably one of the cheaper hot pot places with good quality. The meat cuts weren't too thin and portion size was perfect. I was a little disappointed with the variety and portion of veggies that were given.. a small portion of lettuce, two pieces of bok choy and aburage, and a small handful of ramen. We also ordered mushrooms on the side for more veggies. They also initially had a small amount of broth in my friend's pots (not even half filled compared to mines) which quickly depleted fast and started to burn - they refilled it but it took a while and could've been avoided if they filled it more the first time. Despite that, the "pork back fat" broth I got was SO GOOD and gave so much flavor to the meal. I would definitely recommend. Overall, I would come back! Got seated right away and knew what we wanted to order but when viewing the menu, it changed. Regarding the "Luncheon Special-Beef Broth Nabe", didn't see our usual choices Chicken Breast and US Brisket on the menu...they no longer serve this. Also, you don't have a choice of Rice, Ramen or Ube Udon...it only comes with Ramen so if you want rice or udon, they charge you $3 each. I don't care for ramen for hot pot's...by the time I eat all the ramen, it's soggy. Just wondering why they changed the carb choices. We ordered 2 luncheon specials with Pork Belly and Wagyu Eye Round with a side order of rice. I was glad they still had our favorite Sukiyaki broth. Out of all the hot pot places we've been to, their Sukiyaki broth is the best! Food was good but I think the next time, we'll order the Wagyu for both of us. They served nice pieces of Pork Belly but not used to eating it where the fat is still soft and rubbery-looking. I like to fry it until crispy and dip it in a special sauce. Finally checked this place off from my list. I had been to their ramen spot in Ward many times, and since they opened the hot pot place I had been wanting to try it. Finally did! A hot pot set with good quality beef, fresh ingredients, delicious broth for lunch for $14.99 including mochi dessert and green tea? You can't beat this. Also their kids menu included rice and fries presented in a cute fire truck, although I'd rather they put karaage chicken instead of sausage in there, so we ordered a separate order of karaage (was just ok). I also ordered their negitoro as a side. The toro itself was blended very well so it's a very smooth texture with good flavor. I was a little surprised that they used Korean seaweed instead of Japanese nori though. The service was friendly. Our server didn't seem to speak English well but he's nice and polite. The place had a very Japanese feel, wooden benches and dividers. It's also cute to have a chalkboard for people to sign their names. The food was overall delicious. Love coming to Kamitoku hot pot! Recently went for lunch and then dinner on another night. Lunch set menus are such a good value with meat, veggies and noodles included. My favorite broths are the beefy wild and wild spicy, while my parents really enjoy the sukiyaki broth. Everyone gets their own broth to cook in. This is one of the best hot pot/shabu shabu places I've been to. The quality of the meat is top notch. I got the rib eye set and the meat was SO tender!!! I also loved the "wild" creamy bone broth- so flavorful and rich. They do include ponzu sauce but I was a little surprised to see the sesame sauce is extra $1.40 or something like that. I'm used to shabu places with the unlimited sauce bars. The ponzu was adequate though and with the broth I found that I didn't need too much of it anyway. The sets come with meat, veggies, and choice of starch- ramen, ube udon, or rice. Or you can pick zosui to end your meal with. Paired it with a calamansi lemonade, so good together. Service was good, friendly. We made reservations and got seated promptly at our reservation time. They do have larger tables for bigger groups (we were a group of 7). The "Wild" broth was quite good. That's about it for the meal. Old utensils with the plastic lacquer melted off that seemed unappetizing to eat with. I ordered the beef katsu that came out looking rough and inside it was cheap quality with plenty of fat gristle, and what meat was there was grey and overdone. My wife got a hot pot set and as mentioned the broth was good, but when she asked for a refill as much of it had boiled off quite quickly (they don't give you a lot to begin with), she was told it was an up charge for a refill. The waiter told us he could give us water to add for free lol. Never heard of getting charged for an extra broth before at other places. Signs posted all over also detail all the various up charges. It quickly became a joke for us that if she's caught giving me a bite of her food they might charge us. Not that any of this mattered because the server never came back with a broth refill anyway even after we said we'd pay for it. At a certain point we just wanted to leave. We asked the waiter for the bill and when he showed us the bill he asked us if it looked okay. We pointed out that there was still a charge for a Diet Coke he never brought us and when we said "We didn't get our Diet Coke" he just said "Oh you didn't?" Even on that Sunday, we were not the first people to be seated so just know that if you're coming any other time, I would highly recommend making a reservation. Kamitoku has the best hot pot broth in the game. Beefy wild, spicy wild, seabura, beefy yu, I could go on - each one is rich and packed with flavor! Their normal dinner option is to order from their "sets" menu: you pick a protein and it comes with a combination of vegetables and starch. Even though they are not typically all-you-can-eat, the set menu is more than enough to fill me up. Our most recent visit was for their all-you-can-eat meat promo, and I hope they continue to run this promo in the future. After all, while napa cabbage is great, ribeye is better. They also often have lunch specials, although I've never had the opportunity to try those. In any case, make sure you end your meal with the zosui set: a bowl of slightly dried rice, an egg, and some garnish. Adding these to your leftover soup creates a thick porridge packed with the flavors of the soup and your various hot pot ingredients. Service here is very friendly and the restaurant is modestly sized. I'd recommend making a reservation as I have seen a pretty sizable line form for walk-ins. The restaurant shares a parking lot with all the other businesses in Market City, and while the parking lot is pretty big, I've seen it fill up as well. They opened promptly at 5pm they seated all the people with reservations first, I would recommend making a reservation if you don't want to wait, but it's not needed. The restaurant was clean and well lit, nothing fancy but welcoming. After we got seated it took them a few minutes to drop off waters and a few more to take our order. Our chicken Nanban was on the wet side, not only from the tartar sauce but it seemed that the chicken was dipped in some sauce before being plated. This Kamitoku Japanese Hotpot can "toku" my money any time! I wasn't a fan of Kamitoku Ramen when it was in Shirokiya, but was then a fan of their food truck located across from Don Quijote - Kaheka. Now let's try its Japanese hot pot! This place is located in the spot that used to be Nabeya Maido in the Market City Shopping Center, next to Gina's BBQ and Duck Lee. It does get quite busy. Just sign your name on the clipboard (or make a reservation!), and someone will come out to check on it. Inside is on the smaller side, but seats comfortably, but you might share a bench chair with someone on the opposite side (hopefully, the person doesn't move around a lot...). There are many 1 meat and broth with veggies sets to choose from. I prefer to go ala carte. It's $7 per person for the broth. I highly recommend the YU broths (Beefy and Spicy) if you like it more towards Chinese flavors because it has a really nice beefy flavor with pronounced hints of star anise and Chinese black cardamom that give it a nice earthy, smoky, almost sweet flavor to the broth. The Spicy isn't that spicy. The menu shows 4 out of 5 chilis, but I'll give it a 1.5 level (as a person with a higher tolerant). The Beefy Miso and Sukiyaki are both good as well as both had excellent flavors. They also have different pots with 3 and 4 sections to try different broths! So...can get more than 2 broths! Happy Hour is 5-6pm with a few drink and appetizer specials including a Sake flight for $9. I recommend the Okonomi French Fries and Chicken Karaage. The fries were skinny and crispy, well-seasoned, and tasty with the okonomiyaki toppings (dried bonito and seaweed, and kewpie mayo). Chicken was good too! Big pieces of juicy, tender, and tasty! 3 pieces is not enough! Kim Chee was not bad either. The Grilled Wagyu Nigiri Sushi was okay. Wagyu was on the lean side, and didn't have that melt in your mouth feeling. Also didn't get the "grilled" part. It tasted good, which was helped by the Yuzu Kosho. Odd name, but the Napoli-Tossy was really good. Really rich and delicious with thin strips of pork belly (like spaghetti!), pieces of Arabiki Sausage, and onion and scallions. So good! We ordered the Vegetable set and Mushroom set. This was the perfect amount for two. Everything was fresh and clean. The Gyoza was really good! The beef filling was tasty! The meats (Wagyu Brisket, Ribeye, and Horumon) were fresh and nice prepared. Don't forget to order your sauce! The menu is on the side. Actually, please look around at their special menus! You might find something better! The basic Homemade Sesame Sauce with Green Onion is 75 cents, and specialty sauces and seasonings, such as daikon oroshi, coriander, ginger and garlic, and etc. are $1.25. Honestly, sauce is just a flavor enhancer as the broth is quite tasty and the meat and vegetables are fresh. The Yuzu Cheesecake was good. We were told it was homemade. I really enjoyed my experience today. I went a little after they opened after taking care of some errands after some coworkers had mentioned about their lunch special. It was very quick to get seated. I got the seabura broth and alternated between the meats. The AYCE was what you would expect, but for just two options i was pretty satisfied. I liked both the beef and the pork, but I enjoyed the pork with my broth more this time. I think the broth was rich for me personally but i enjoyed it regardless. I would like to especially mention the service. There was only one waitress that tended to the restaurant, and it slowly filled up as i ate. Even though i was alone, i felt taken care of with the broth, the ordering timing and with my requests. I also noticed how well other guests were being taken care of and specifically how nice they treated children. The environment made my whole experience memorable. The restaurant was very clean and spacious. The menu from what I could see aside from the AYCE looked very appetizing, so maybe i will bring friends and family next time for dinner. I also had the dessert yuzu cheesecake and hot green tea, which i thought was amazing that they offer that. It made the end of the meal and my trip home nicer. We went with Beefy Wild, Seabura, and Miso. All three were delicious, but the miso was my favorite. The Seabura honestly tasted just like beef stew, so if you love beef stew, that one's a must-try. As for the meats, the roundeye wagyu was decent, but the ribeye was hands down the star of the show. It was super tender and flavorful. The restaurant itself gives you the vibe of being in Japan at an izakaya, and the Japanese music playing in the background really added to it. Made me miss Japan. The other broths were good too, though not as flavorful or unique. Of all the various meats we tried, the only one we thought was passable was the pork belly. They were out of a few of the items we wanted to order, but ultimately we got some bok choi, wonbok, mushroom samplers, and ube udon. Well, I went with 2 of my friends and we saw the Beef King/Beef Shogun. It claims to be for 3-4 people. No. If we had not bought a lot of other sides, it would only have been enough for 1.5 people. The picture is very deceptive too. It is not a spiral of beef. It is 2 layers of beef. That's it. This is more like a Veggie King. Don't be deceived by their portion size suggestions, name, or pictures. The presentation is good though. Sure. The ginger pork side was actually smaller than I thought too. The size is only about the size of my closed fist. I'm a small person too. The okonomiyaki fries were probably the best thing we tried. Fries were made fresh. After that the ice cream dessert with the house made topping. Although the ice cream wasn't top quality. I did taste some ice on it. Service was attentive and the place was clean. I would give the service and ambiance 4 stars. But unfortunately the price and size portions compared to what you can get elsewhere isn't worth it. This might have been the best meal we had on this trip. Absolutely fantastic. A short cab ride or a long walk from Waikiki, in a small, local strip mall by a busy road. I can't remember what my hubby and I ordered, but it doesn't matter as we ordered extra stuff and ended up sharing everything. The freshness of the meat and vegetables was fantastic. The flavours of the soups really complemented the meat and vegetables. We came here on our last day, which is why we only went once. It was a fantastic meal at a very reasonable price so close to Waikiki! read more

Thursday October 24, 2024 we decided to come here as our friend lives in Kapahulu and she comes here. This was my first time here for lunch. We ordered 4 Kamitoku sets and ordered more meat and other stuff after. The spicy tonkotsu broth was really good. There is plenty parking. We were seated right away, the service was fast and friendly. The ambiance is nice inside, casual and comfortable. We will be back again. read more

いただきます。 Itadakimasu. Late night dinner at Kamitoku Japanese Restaurant. Their last order is 9:00 pm and will close at 10:00pm. We arrived at 8:47pm. We placed our order quickly with Nana. She was friendly, attentive and didn't make us feel rushed. The inside is decorated so nicely with Japanese umbrellas, kimonos, and the place is just very festive, it makes my heart happy. We got two different broths that looked similar. One was miso beef broth and the other was spicy yu broth. Miso beef broth was their beef bone broth with fermented soybeans. The spicy yu broth is the creamy beef bone broth with Asian herbs. I highly recommend the spicy yu for those who loves a little spicy flavors. We ordered three different meats: Washugyu Ribeye, Mugifuji Pork and Arabiki Sausage. And for veggies, we got Aburaage (deep fried tofu), Mizuna (Japanese mustard greens), Oyster Mushrooms. It was a simple hot pot but combine together with the broth truly satisfied not only the hunger in us but the flavorful taste that makes me want more! So we'll definitely be back! We tried their fresh lemonades. I had the calamansi lemonade and my daughter had the hibiscus tea lemonade. Both were very refreshing! I prefer their calamansi lemonade;) Overall, the experience was amazing and it's a plus that despite the fact the we got there just before the last call for placing our orders, Nana served us well. She smiled throughout and didn't make us feel like we had to leave. We left at 8:52 pm. This is definitely a hot pot place to visit and must've on your restaurants to try! This place is really small. But it is really cozy like a family place come and eat food. I went to with my coworker to get lunch and there was a lunch special and we can order a lot of wagyu beef. And we order like 12 try of them. The only sad thing about this there was not enough vegetables unless you pay more and no rice or noodles. But the waiter was nice and always us if we like more meat. read more
