    Chicken Kaarage - Perfection!!
    Peter N.

Excellent friendly service in a great space. They really care about their food here. The Chicken Karaage was my favorite I've ever eaten in all of Hawaii and even Japan. Large juicy pieces of chicken with the perfect amount of breading and a delicious dipping sauce. Must get! The Miso Ramen was rich, bright, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. You don't usually get rich and bright in the same broth. The Vegan Tantan Ramen was absolutely outstanding. The soy milk broth was thick and flavorful. Even if you're not vegan, it's packed with bold flavors and is a must-try. The Broth Bar lives up to its name. Extremely well crafted broth that compliments everything that you get in the bowl.

Pleasantly surprise how good it is. Noodle was perfect. Pupus was good. Gyoza was good too. Service was good. They were short handed I could tell but they did their best l. Ambiance was relax.

Went in early morning at opening. No waiting but they do have on-line reservations. They also have a wait list pad if you walk-in. Tables are set with chop sticks, soup spoons, napkins and wet towel to freshen up before eating. Place has a update, clean and bright Japanese feel. Ordered one original and one original deluxe with the hot sauce on the side. The only difference is that the deluxe has more egg, seaweed and char siu. Plus some crunchy fungus (looks like sliced, Chinese call elephant ear). Broth is not clear and very tasty. A little salty but it balances out when you have it with the noodles. Egg is cooked perfectly and the char siu is lean and soft. Gyoza is tasty but, alittle soft for me. I use the hot sauce fr om my noodles as a sauce for the gyoza. Pros: I like that you can make reservation on line or sign in on the wait list. It's a nice touch to have a wet towel to freshen up before your meal. Service was fast and friendly. The meal was very filling. Cons: The gyoza was a little too soft for me. Parking is not the best. There was alot of pick-up only stalls. Would I go back? Yes I would if I was in the neighborhood. It's out of my way from home.

Finally got to try the broth bar and they didn't disappoint! Settings comes with oshibori and a pretty decent cloth... fancy! Located outside of Kahala mall by McDonald's, brug, right next to Share Tea. Lots of parking at Kahala mall, the immediate parking doesn't have many stalls and is a little tight when big vans park there. Service was awesome! Always asking if we were ok or if we needed anything, brought lots of boxes take out bags. Appetizers and ramen came out fast ! Most hot and cold appetizers are $10 and less, which nowadays seems rare to be $10 or less. We tried the gyoza, karaage chicken, and truffle fries and decently sized! Chicken karaage was crispy and super juicy served with a spicy mayo sauce. The table across had ordered won ton chips and spicy ahi which looked good! Kids meals were a deal $10 curry rice or ramen with 2 karaaage chicken or 3 gyoza and a capri sun. The ramen came with 1/2 egg 1 piece or pork and corn. And the broth was good too more like a shoyu Original ramen $18 1/2 egg, 1 pork, 1 nori. Original deluxe 1 egg , 3 pork, 3 nori $20. Loved the broth, it was thick flavorful, packed with flavor! Take out containers allow you to separate the broth from the noodles so then your leftovers aren't all soggy! They also give you a nice bag to take it home, Restrooms are outside towards the corner, need to ask for the key. Please support this business would love to see them stick around and will definitely be back to try some other items! Finally got some good tonkotsu ramen out this side!

Conveniently located at Kahala Mall, there is a lot of parking. I came here for dinner on a weeknight with my family. There were others dining, but it wasn't crowded for a weeknight. It's a casual restaurant and good for families and small groups. There is a variety of items to choose from besides ramen. My boys enjoyed the kids menu items, which included ramen and a chicken karaage set. I really enjoyed the broth's flavors, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The appetizers were also good. The service was also friendly. The bathroom is located outside of the restaurant. You need to ask them for the bathroom key. Overall, we enjoyed the food and will be back! Happy Eating!

Came for lunch on a Friday and there was a queue. Easy to check in at the counter using the Yelp check in app and they text you when your table is ready. The interior is bright but not very large which is also why there was a queue. There are tables just outside with shade where you can wait comfortably. We got chicken karaage and popcorn shrimp, both were really good and very generous portions. For our mains, we got the Spicy Vegan and The Original. The broths were really rich and delicious. The only issue we had was that they were severely understaffed. Only two aunties in the kitchen and one guy on the floor. He did a great job checking people in, taking orders, bringing drinks etc but we waited almost 25 minutes for a table even though there was one vacant table there, it needed to be cleaned. Drinks took a long time to come out but again, simply down to not being properly staffed. When we left, the aunties called out good bye and the service was very friendly. Just a shame that the guy had to run to floor on his own. I hope today was a one off and we will probably be back because the food was really good. Parking is easy, if you can't find a spot in the large carpark in front, Kahala Mall carpark is across the road.

The Hawaiian rain had my heart aching for some hot, tasty ramen and broth. So, off to The Broth Bar we went! We absolutely love this place and can't wait for our next visit. I encourage everyone to eat here.

We decided to drive from Ewa to checkout this establishment. It was so worth it!! We made reservations on yelp but upon arrival we were welcomed in and were seated immediately. What a very nice experience with a classy and neat presentation of the table setting to the take home packaging. I love the individually packaged wet towel with the utensils. We also enjoyed many appetizers which were all so fresh and tasty! The staff was so friendly and helpful. We loved this and plan to return soon despite the journey. Thank you.

It was a good bowl . You can tell the broth was prepared with care. Service was good The place had nice decor The only qualm for me is the char siu was lean.

We just ate here and holy smokes it was BOMB! I had the chicken katsu curry and my husband got a miso ramen and we both shared an order of gyoza. Everything was SOLIDDDDD! Super tasty and delicious all around. The two guys working were super friendly and I loved having them as our servers! Cute little place with a nice mix of booths and regular tables. Very clean looking as well. We'll be back again!

An okay spot for ramen, but with amazing appetizers! Would come back to try their other dishes. + Food: Their ramens were unfortunately a bit disappointing. Broth can be a biiiiit more seasoned, even though it feels heavy. They were light-handed on toppings so it made the whole thing felt unbalanced. Would love more vegetables options like bean sprouts. Great chashu, ajitama, and noodles though. The surprising stars of the show were the appetizers! Their takoyaki and karaage were so good. Both were freshly made, crunchy on the outside while deliciously moist inside. + Ambience: Decent sized restaurant with plenty of parking spaces cause it's in a plaza + Service: Very friendly and attentive staff

We finally tried this place we heard that opened up next to Kahala Mall. If you love ramen, this place is a must-try! What we ordered: The Shoyu, The Spicy, and Karaage. Although the broth was a little oily, everything tasted good, our kids also approved the food! We were greeted and seated right away. We went on a Saturday a little before 5:30pm. It wasn't too busy. The place was really nice and clean and the staff were friendly and frequently checking up on us if we need anything. There is parking located right outside but it's a small parking area. If it's full you may need to park in the lot near Kahala Mall. There are no restrooms inside the restaurant however they will provide you with the key. Overall our experience here was great and would definitely come back here again!

I had a great time and worth my 2 hour bus ride to come here! I have been meaning to try this since I heard about their great happy hour! However, of course, I never made it to happy hour! The Waikikirita was nice and smooth, with just the right amount of sweet and sour, tanginess, you only get from li hing! Of course a distinct flavor, but for a local, I definitely enjoyed it served in a martini glass! The gyozas seemed to be panfried was perfect with the green onions loaded on, but I don't feel like I got much of the ponzu as I was hoping for with it being in the name! The star of the show was this creamy, almost buttery-like, i can still remember it to this day. Personally, it was a touch too thick for me, almost resembled like a chowder and was hoping it was going to be more brothy. It was a bit rich, but overall enjoyed it. And somehow, the garlic bread made so much sense! I liked the atmosphere and the vibes! When i walked in, it didn't seem as "welcoming" from the start as there was no one up front and instead see a lady, who seemed to be a worker off the clock be sat at the bar talking to the bartender. Almost not giving me much attention. Eventually, they let me pick a place to sit and served me "properly." But at first impression, I wasn't so happy, yet, I am glad I stuck around because the food was pretty good and the drink i had was nice! However, don't expect a host or anything. It's a cute spot outside looking in. Overall, I'll still come back.

STIX ASIA IS A GEM IN WAIKIKI. Asian food hall galore with so many choices. It's worth coming to if…read moreyou want a guaranteed good meal for you buck. It's not the commercialized restaurants ( sorry Waikiki) that you expect on the strip but it is down home good cooking with some specialties ranging from Japanese l, Korean, Chinese and more flavors. It's a perfect place to go to while you're staying on the strip and you don't want to wait in 2 hour long waits for mediocre food. Take a walk downstairs and enter into an elevated food stall experience. I'm not saying it's fancy, but I am saying it's worth a date night or fun night out with friends and family. Fair warning it has this interesting set up tho that makes it feel like its outside but it's technically at the basement of a mall plaza. So weird because the air conditioning is hit or miss but it's nice because the individual places have their own AC. I expected it to be cooler inside and it wasn't blazing hot but it was humid .... But then again you're in Hawaii lol so expect a little humidity depending on what month you come in. Parking; paid and look for a lot ... I'm not entirely sure but it's walking distance from the strip. Pro tip: it's conveniently located by the Ross. Faves: Hojocha latte and Matcha Lattes found here! Even soft serve! Organic Rice Balls ( onigiri) to go. The closest thing I've found to Motomura Gyakatsu ( with unlimited salad!l and the bear dang tempura tendon I've had aside from Japan. Baby friendly : Yes, absolutely yes. Now they have small tables and areas in some spaces but they make it work with what you have if there's space. I took my 6 month old with a doona stroller here and it fit fine. There were elevators conveniently in located in the space. Restrooms: you need a code from one of the food places and it will be on your receipt. They're pretty clean! Enjoy! Try everything. And it's a really good meeting place for families to try different cuisines.

The stars are for the matcha place, which is excellent. However everything else was a miss…read more I would NOT recommend the ramen place here, no flavor in the broth, it feels like you're just eating spicy thick noodles. If you're craving Udon, I would recommend Marugame over the udon joint here. The sushi place is okay. Katsu place was good!
