The room is no-frills, the service is solid without being especially warm, and the BYOB policy fits the place better than any design effort would have The draw is still the broth. The beef broth really does drink like pho broth, and the restaurant's own menu more or less admits that by calling it a favorite for pho lovers. The tom yum has real sharpness and stays lively through the meal. The meat selection is broader than the room suggests, with ribeye, short rib, lamb, pork belly, pork shoulder, tripe, and tendon all on the menu. The vegetable and noodle selection is also better than average: bok choy, choi sum, ong choy, watercress, taro, lotus root, bamboo shoot, enoki, king oyster, fresh saimin, udon, glass noodle, vermicelli, and pho noodle, among others What holds it at 4 stars is that the math can get a little awkward. It is not expensive plate by plate, but somehow the total often lands near all-you-can-eat territory, except without the same range. Although if you were to ask my wife, this a solid 5 star place. The Thai Broth was excellent. We ordered Mild Spicy and its just have a right amount of kick to it. I say they have one of the best broth. We also had the Mushroom Broth and it delicious. You can definitely taste the chicken broth. The protein portion is generous for the price. The vegetables and noodles are fresh. I really like hot pot style, you can customize your meal according to your taste. The service was outstanding and the wonderful lady was always refilling our water. Small dining area, but maximize the space without feeling cramp. My only complaint was the air exhaust on the ceiling that look like mold. Not a good look. Once again I have to leave a stellar review for Hot Pot Heaven and all its crew! The newest edition to the store itself is the addition of a sushi bar! They now offer all types of sushi Sashimi, Rolls, Nigiri, and Poke/Donburi! Their specials are so amazing! The seared salmon miso was absolutely fantastic!! The sheer freshness of this sashimi with the taste of the miso, fresh tomato, and strip of shiso leaf bring a sweet yet savory flavor profile that tantalized the palette! (So much so I got 3 orders!) and for the price it was greatly affordable! Even the scallop ponzu made me smile while taking a bite! I'd highly recommend the entire sushi menu if I could but I can only comment what I ate for the time being. With the flavors of sushi we then moved to the hotpot itself which as always comes in a vibrant deeply umami broth! Adding fresh ingredients that are readily available in coolers nearby make for a quick cooking experience that helps fill that empty belly and allows you to enjoy your time with family or friends! I love this place! The food is awesome and I love the all the veggies and extras that you can grab from the fridge and the protein selections. The broths are always delicious and the selection of sauces are superb! The service is always quick and friendly and the atmosphere is just right. We tend to go when it's not busy so it's just a nice relaxing place to grab a bite. I always get the kimchee broth which gives me like a real sundubu feel! I also always get the lamb which I don't think you can find at a lot of hotpot places and that's why I love it! Amazing food and service! Located in McCully Shopping Center, there was ample parking. I came here with 2 friends and sat down immediately with no reservation. You start by ordering your broth and meats. We got the Thai broth which was delicious! It was acidic and a little sour which made it refreshing and easy to eat. As for meats we tried the ribeye, pork belly, and brisket. Each portion was a decent size. Everything else can be grabbed from the fridges and DIY sauce bar. There was a variety of vegetables and starches with classics like cabbage and unique items like bitter melon. We loved the quail eggs and Korean rice cakes! Last week we came to this location (it's been awhile). Food was okay, service was definitely not. I asked if they had a certain item (which I always asked, cause they had it before and at the other location) she didn't know and didn't bother to check. I also asked for cilantro only and she brought back half cilantro AND green onions, which I did NOT ask but I just accepted it. When the meat came out the employee knocked some of the meat onto the table with his hands, but used metal tongs to pick it up and put it back on the plate and left. I asked the lady if we could get another one and explained what happened, she was going to take the meat that fell on the table but told her to please leave it till we get the new one. I really didn't trust them, thinking she would just give us back the same one. Check came while we were only halfway through dinner. Felt like we were being rushed!!!! People that were there way before us, were still there and didn't get their checks, and there was no one waiting for tables. I don't think I would return to this location sadly. read more

We ordered the chicken and beef broth and we loved the chicken one. My husband loved the chicken so much he got a refill so he could cook another udon in it. We got two proteins, udon, some fish tofu, shrimp paste, quail eggs, sausage, and bok choy. We loved how you got to choose everything except the main proteins. I loved how you could see the portions and don't have to overorder. We paid around $92 for the two of us which was a little more expensive than I would like but overall the experience was great. Great services and great food! I love that they prepared all the proteins and vegetables and all available in the fridge so you can freely go get them yourself. Each dish has its own color which has its own price. Similar to Japanese restaurants in Japan and some in US (California) . To me, this is a very genius idea! Hot Pot and Shabu Shabu are generally the same variety of meats and vegetables. The only differences are the quality of the meat and vegetables, soup base options, and accompanying sauces. A form of sesame sauce is found throughout and probably the key sauce for hot pot. At Hot Pot Heaven, the sauces are Vietnamese style with the satay, sriracha, ginger sauce, and etc. They do have sesame sauce, but....that's for further discussion. Hot Pot Heaven is located in the McCully Shopping Center. There's plenty of parking. I just go directly to the underground parking. The inside feels...a little restroom-y. Not in a bad way. It's the light beige floor tiles, white paneled ceiling with the square vents, the slight sticky and humid feel, and the topper was the shower curtains hanging that was used as partitions for each table (which is a pretty good idea). It's not a big place, but the seating was comfortable. You first select a broth, ranging from $6.99 to $10.99. It's mostly the bare basics of chicken, beef, mushroom, tofu, miso, veggie, and etc. We opted for the mushroom, which was pretty good. Clean mushroom flavor with no much else. Next is to get your food! The meats, you will order from the server. Pork and chicken is $5.29 per plate, and beef, seafood, and lamb is $6.29. The rest is from the refrigerator with the colored plates that indicate the prices (Green, $3.29; Yellow, $4.29; Red, $5.29; and Blue, $6.29). We ordered Pork Belly, Rib Eye, and Beef Tongue. The ribeye was bright red and tender. The tongue was exceedingly thin and no matter how quick I cooked it, the meat was tough. The pork belly didn't look that good and tasted old. Also grabbed a beef tendon from the fridge. This was okay. Too small and thin. The vegetables, mushrooms, bean curd, quail eggs, lobster and beef balls were all good and fresh, and neatly displayed. Hot Pot Heaven offers a very nice selection of vegetables, noodles, mushrooms, and etc. The sauces had a unique mix with black bean, miso, hoisin, bean curd, satay, sriracha, sesame, and etc. So it's a nice array. However, I do not recommend the sesame sauce. It's not the same as the paste, it's more of a sour dressing, and doesn't match with hot pot. Ginger had a more sour taste as well. Stick with the satay, sriracha, and hoisin--as if you were eating a giant pho with a boatload of ingredients. Overall, it was a decent meal. Nothing spectacular, nothing special. Not the best, not the worst. Just good ol' hot pot with a very solid variety of items that you probably won't find at All You Can Eat hot pot places. The sauces were okay. I wish they offered more Vietnamese style sauces, such as peanut sauce, nuoc cham, fish sauce, and etc. At least provide scallions and hot chili peppers! The price was reasonable. The service was very good. Very friendly and attentive server. Even though it felt a little restroom-y inside (not in a bad way), I liked the safety measures with the sauces being individually packed, food handling gloves provided to select your vegetables and other items from the fridge, and the genius shower curtains used as partitions. My go-to spot for some great hot pot! We love to get the Thai broth, which is basically a tom yum soup base. They don't do AYCE, but they do takeout and you can take home your leftovers if you're dining in. I love taking home the leftover broth and having it for another meal. You order your broth and meats with the server, then get grab the other additions and sauces yourself. My favorite meats to get are the short rib and ribeye. There are vegetables, noodles, gyoza, wontons, fish, other seafood, etc lined up and labeled nicely in a couple fridges in the back. They have such a great selection! The sauces are in pre-packed containers in the other back corner. I love to get the bean curd and miso sauces. The service is awesome. They are super quick and also very friendly. Tried Hot Pot Heaven for the first time last night with the family. We really liked it! Broths: We got the beef and the Thai. Compared to the Thai, the beef broth was bland for my taste. Not to worry, though, because it was easy to jazz up with some of the spicy sauce! It's a good choice broth for those who want something more neutral. The Thai broth, on the other hand, was super flavorful and for the spice level, we ordered it hot. It had a small kick, but again, you can just kick it up a notch by adding in your own spicy sauce and customizing your own little bowl. The Thai broth was definitely more exciting. Meats: All the meats were good quality. We ordered the ribeye, short rib, and pork belly. Surprisingly, we loved the pork belly best! Yum! Sides: We loved the array of sides and vegetables in the grab 'n go fridge. Per Covid, they provide plastic, disposable gloves at the beginning of the station for sanitary purposes. My favorite side was the cabbage-wrapped something-or-other! I wish I knew the name of it! It was basically ground pork (I think) and shrimp wrapped up all cute in cabbage and tied up with some green onion. Super delicious and we went back for more of this one. Service: Great! Attentive, friendly, and helpful. Our waters were kept full and our broths refilled. Mahalo! Verdict: Recommended! If you are craving hotpot and you're okay with the broths being Vietnamese-inspired (instead of the more common Japanese or Chinese), this definitely give this place a shot! My friends and I were craving hot pot so I made a reservation for dinner the same night and the worker was super quick. We got there at 6pm, had our vaccination cards checked and got seated. Luke was our server and he was super friendly and on top of constantly filling our water. It's a 90 min seating limit but if they are not that busy they don't mind you staying longer. You pick your veggies, meat by plate color green, yellow, blue, red. Depending on the color will determine the cost. Definitely recommend trying this place out the only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the cost. Having never been to a hot pot before. My cousin brought me here. It was AMAZING. The meat and vegetables were all very fresh. Now don't get me wrong it can get a little pricey but it was worth it. Then go to their sauces station and create your own from their offerings or use one of their ready made ones. For a party of 3, we ate until we were stuffed and the bill came out to $95. I think it's a great price and fun for the kids to cook and choose their own hot pot additions. We decided on mushrooms, corn, watercress, and the circular pink and white seafood (forgot what they are called). For the protein we ordered scallops. I've been to 3 Hot Pot Heaven's on the island and I'm sad to say this one is probably my least favorite. All Hot Pot Heavens in general are OK.. but the flavor at this one is just not great. The meat cuts and seafood are great, and you can't mess up on veggies, but what's the point if your broth and sauces are all watered down. Maybe it was my fault because I got a chicken broth this time, but there was barely any chicken flavor at all. Sauce station was kinda disappointing. There's a limited amount of sauces and the sesame sauce seemed like it was heavily diluted - texture wasn't as thick and tasted watered down. The service at this location is really great though - really nice and quick. Tables turn fast and prices are reasonable... but I'd rather make a drive to one of the other ones. read more
