The aesthetic and ambiance of the facility is gorgeous and makes you feel right at home. Not only do they treat you like a princess but they make sure you have snacks galore too. But if you're going to see Chrissy who does peels you need to bring your own goggles and eye wash just in case she gets numbing cream in your eyes. Had my first ever microneedling session here a few weeks ago and couldn't be more thrilled with the results! I'd been considering microneedling for quite some time but had some trepidation about the procedure since I'd read lots of horror stories online about people's skin getting ruined from unskilled practitioners who either went too deep or used improper technique. That said, it was very important to me to find a reputable clinic. I did consultations at three different places on the Westside, and even though Kao was the most expensive, I felt like they were the most knowledgable, professional, and honest. Nurse Chrissey actually took the time to examine my skin and discuss my needs whereas the others barely looked and simply agreed to whatever procedures or lasers I was interested in. When I asked Chrissey if the Moxi laser would be beneficial for me, she suggested that I do BBL instead as that would be more helpful for addressing my redness, which was a primary concern of mine. She also recommended microneedling without exosomes since my skin doesn't have major signs of aging yet (I'm in my mid 30's), and I appreciated that she didn't try to upsell me on the more expensive option or other lasers I didn't need. I felt like Kao provided a much more personalized experience which made me feel safer going with them. The day of the procedure, they numbed my face for a full hour (I've heard that other places will only numb for 15-20 minutes), and I'm glad they did because it did hurt after a couple passes, nothing intolerable though. While the numbing cream was on they put me in a nice room with a heated blanket, snacks, and then dimmed the lights so I could rest or take a nap. About a week after the procedure I could already notice a difference in my skin texture and quality. They say that results are supposed to build slowly over the next few months (with multiple sessions) as collagen continues to build, so I wasn't expecting a dramatic improvement right away but I was shocked at how much smoother and brighter my skin was after just a couple of weeks. I didn't wear any makeup yesterday and my friend made a comment about how good my skin looked so it's definitely not just in my head! Kao Aesthetics is beautiful! As soon as you walk in, the lobby is impeccably clean and tastefully decorated. The front girls greeted me warmly and offered me something to drink (i.e. water, tea). Being a petite and active person, no matter how much I worked out and diet there are just a few areas where I have stubborn fat which I'm very good at hiding. For me, it's not worth the risks to undergo invasive surgery like lipo to remove pockets of fat even though the end results would be more dramatic. I looked into more non-invasive treatments such as Morpheus8 and Skinfinity and thought maybe these could be good options for me. I scheduled a consultation which the cost would go towards my procedure if I booked. I had my consult with nurse Chrissey. Chrissey was very sweet and thorough. She answered all my questions in detail. And I ask A LOT of questions! After the consult and receiving my quote from Jacquie (one of the front desk girls -- super nice too), I booked my appointments for a combo Morpheus + Skinfinity treatment on the back of my arms (each performed 6 weeks apart). On the day of, Chrissey explained the whole process. She would make sure I was ok and not in great pain before increasing the intensity if needed. I do have a high tolerance so for me it was not painful at all -- Chrissey said I was on a fairly high setting too. I think for me the topical numbing cream would have been enough, but I was given other pain meds as a precaution. But please if you do this and you don't have a very high pain tolerance like me, take all the pain meds they give you -- they know what they are doing. After the Morpheus treatment, it looks a lot worse than it feels. I didn't take any pain medications afterwards. I will say that if you really want to heal FAST then you have to get the Marine Extract product -- it's pricey but since mine was a bit more aggressive, it took about a week for my arms to heal and scab off. I would say the worst part was that the first few days it was itchy and resisting to scratch was hard. With Morpheus you don't see results quick -- at the earliest at 6 weeks and full results 3-6 months after treatment. If you were to do more treatments consecutively then you would see results faster but I want to see the full results after one treatment then consider if I want to get another. But I will be doing the Skinfinity treatment tomorrow! I also want to mention about Botox. So I'm approaching 40 and fortunately I don't have too many wrinkles. And I kept learning that all my friends have been doing Botox for years and that it's amazing! I was a bit curious to try just bc I wanted to know what it felt like. So I happened to get Chrissey and I asked her so many questions bc I've never had Botox done. I was really concerned about looking super frozen. Chrissey assured me she would use the least possible amount that I was comfortable with and asked what areas specifically I wanted to treat. So I did the crows feet and the frown lines in between the brows. For me the needle does not hurt at all. One area had some slight bruising but it was small and was gone after a day. Once the Botox kicked it, I was amazed by the change. I didn't feel "paralyzed or frozen." I did feel I looked more refreshed. Will I continue with it? Chrissey is seriously an ARTIST! I didn't want to show my face but felt no words could impact as powerful as a photo. I was having issues with grinding my teeth at night. Every morning I would wake up with a sore jaw, migraines, and when I get stressed my jaw would clench uncontrollably. This resulted in my Masseter muscles to bulge out and were quite solid. 100% recommend. I had been trying to remove my dark spots and melasma for the past 4years and have done peels, lasers, creams with a dermatologist and a different nurse practitioner before I scheduled a consult with Chrissey. I thought I had already found the best that could be offered for my dark spots and had actually gone in for a consult for micro needling, but when Chrissey saw me she suggested the Moxi laser to remove my dark spots first. I was hesitant because I had never heard of the Moxi laser before (and I had done a lot of research during the last 4years, both for treatments offered in the U.S. and Korea), but Chrissey did not push or try to sell it to me, but told me to take my time to think about it and do my own research before I made a decision. I took a few days to look into the moxi laser, even then I felt like I didn't find quite as much about it as other lasers, but decided to give it a go anyway. I had my expectations pretty low since I had done lasers before with minimal results. Well, lo and behold, 7 days after treatment my dark spots and melasma are gone. GONE. I was shocked. I cannot believe how well the Moxi worked for me. But more important than the laser is Chrissey, because even if you have a good laser, if the person who's using it doesn't know what they're doing, it's fairly useless and can do more damage than good. Well, Chrissey knows what she's doing. She is so good at what she does, she is incredibly knowledgeable about everything that's available on the market (not just things offered at Kao), and she is so sweet and genuinely cares about your skin. I would 100% recommend going to get a consultation with Chrissey if you have any concerns about your skin, she will undoubtedly find a way to help you.
