The good, the bad, the ugly Good - I had the best Thai tea I've had at any Thai restaurant. I'd go back just for this. The crispy duck in curry was outstanding. A huge amount for the $31 price tag but worth it. I wish they'd add more veggies but still an excellent dish. The vegan gyoza dumplings were delicious. Slightly charred and melt in your mouth. The bad - seaweed salad at $9 was mostly shredded lettuce with a little seaweed in a margarita (?) glass to make it look like a lot. I like seaweed and was disappointed that this had such a small amount. The ugly. I came after the lunch crowd rush at 1:00. There was a booth available and waiter would not seat me there because he said it's for larger parties. So he sat me underneath a fake stiff Christmas decoration that was cutting into my neck and back. Very uncomfortable. During the half hour I was there a single woman was seated there and three more booths opened. So this experience was uncalled for. I left the waiter a 15% tip where I'd usually tip 20 for lunch. And by the way the reviews saying tip automatically added are incorrect. You get a suggested tip starting at 18! My waiter today is reason tips should be discretionary for service received. I was seated quickly, and the booths are fairly large and comfortable. Service was incredibly attentive... I think I had my water filled up four times lol. The sushi ordered came out quickly and tasted great. I would not say it's the very best I've had in the area, but it is decent and there are plenty of options for different kinds of rolls and other dishes here. One of the best (if not THE best) Thai restaurants in Palm Beach gardens. Unlike a lot of surrounding Thai spots, these people actually know how to make an amazing well balanced PAD SEE EEW. Noodles were thick and right amount of chewiness. The beef was extremely tender and delicious in it as well. PAPAYA salad was lovely and fresh. HOUSE THAI FRIED RICE had that delicious umami wok flavor that you're looking for. Prices are fair and similar to all Thai spots in the area. Can't wait to go back. I'm leaving 1 star because of how I was treated regarding tipping. I ordered a bowl of pho and a side of fries. When it came time to pay, I did not leave a tip because I had forgotten my cash at home. I explained that I've previously experienced credit card fraud where someone added a much larger tip than what I authorized, so I prefer to leave cash tips whenever possible. Instead of being understanding, the employee told me that if I wasn't going to tip, then next time I should just order my food to go rather than dine in. I found this comment unprofessional and inappropriate. Oh let's not forget I had my 5 year old son with me and she said this in front of him. Tipping is optional, and customers should not be made to feel unwelcome or pressured for not leaving a tip. Not everyone has extra money available beyond the cost of their meal, and no customer should be told not to dine in because they chose not to tip. This is my very first review. My husband and I used to frequently eat at Kao Gang Thai & Sushi Bar. The food was always outstanding and priced reasonably. But we were truly disappointed with today's lunch. All three meals we ordered were totally off. What's going on over there? Our favorite Tom Kar soup was lukewarm and unusually too sweet. The seaweed salad had not much seaweed, but a lot of lettuce and a weirdly sweet dressing. The pineapple fried rice with shrimp also didn't taste right. When we asked a waitress if they had a different chef, she smiled and said, "No. Everything is the same." Our complaints were totally ignored. Nobody apologised or even attempted to do anything to satisfy disappointed customers. We paid $56 for the food that we could not eat and left;-( Will never come back. What would you do? read more

Wonderful as always. They were a little busy today which slowed the service a little bit but nothing worth complaining about. We had the Tom Yum soup, a sushi roll, and a side order of egg fried rice. All three were delicious. On the pricier side, but that appears to be the normal now for a dinner. The manager is arrogant, constantly makes unnecessary comments, and has a habit of complaining instead of focusing on customer service. He puts on a fake-friendly act, but it feels condescending rather than welcoming. The attitude is unprofessional and uncomfortable, especially coming from someone who clearly enjoys talking down to others. The staff overall reflects this poor leadership. Instead of a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere, the vibe feels tense and unpleasant. It's a shame, because the kitchen does its job well, but bad management can undo good food fast. I hate being that guy, but I guess I'll be the male Karen for today. As for someone in the business for 9 years being server/bartender, I gotta say today made me go out of my way to create account to write this review. Long story short, I order these sausage appetizers that looked amazing, when I toke first bite it was really sour, honestly it tasted as if it's spoiled. I asked the server if I can exchange it for something else or take it off, since I also got entree (which was actually good). She said Chefs said no, so I ended up paying for it...I'll understand if I ate few bites and keep returning stuff because I dealt with freeloaders in the industry before, but this was not the case, literally ONE bite and I genuinely didn't like it. So a note to future customers: don't order anything unless YOU KNOW for sure you'll like the food, because apparently they don't take back food in any circumstances. I ordered carry-out and had the pad see eew and spicy tuna roll. When I open the contain, I notice right away that the tuna was tasteless and quite red in color and upon eating one, the tuna roll was not spicy at all and the texture was weird. I had another one and was not liking it at all. Since this was take out, it went into the garbage. The pad see eew with beef. The beef was not tender and seem to have not a beefy taste. The food was so delicious that I visited twice in 4 days. I had the seafood soup and returned for the whole Snapper with curry sauce. "UNBELIEVABLY GREAT!!!!" The fish was the most fresh serving that I ever had. The ambiance is outstanding, with Oriental boutique decorations. Most of all, the splendid service by Jasmine, Coney and Pim was outstanding.
