Ever since i first discovered sushi Fella I have been consistently ordering every time im in town visiting family. The pickup process is super easy and this is some of the best sushi you will have anywhere, its truly unbelievable. Ive had the double set and killer set and you cant go wrong with anything you order. I would pick up sushi here at least once a week if I was local and if you are local take advantage of this gem! read more

I'd like to start this review off with making sure everyone is aware that this is not a restaurant this is a business at a home and it's meant for pick up and advance ordering only. They might do delivery. I'm not sure but it's definitely has to be done in advance. The sushi rolls and sushi pieces some of them were your normal type of Sushi, but most of them had some little savor surprise with each bite. One of them had an orange/Citrus. Another one had weird things on top that might've been saffron, but it was actually shredded, dry red pepper. I called the day of and he was ready for me by 5:45 pm He texted me directions and told me to text him 15 minutes before I got there, which I didn't realize until I looked back at the directions for the exact address, but he was very accommodating. He gave me the code to get into the gate and met me outside. Typically, he said his wife would meet me at the gate, but she was out doing a delivery. Delicious sushi, beautifully displayed with flowers, the food itself look like artwork, he included, wasabi, ginger, soy sauce, and chopsticks. The only thing you'll need to get is the sake. Love it!! Maciasan is such a nice guy. Super easy to order. We ordered the double set and it did not disappoint. Was ready at the requested time, and pick up was easy. The way it was arranged was beautiful and every piece had a wonderfully complex flavor. Another reviewer mentioned the fish being no better than any other restaurant around here. As someone who's lived here the majority of their adult life and comes from a seafood family, the fish used is by far better than what you get in most restaurants in the area (in my humble and experienced opinion). The taste of the fish is incredibly smooth and delectable, and not at all "fishy". I also LOVED the seaweed on the platters, it was delicious. There was a salmon roll that had an orange/citrus flavor to it. All in all, a fantastic quantity of sushi with equally fantastic quality. This will be the only place I get sushi from now on. It's been tough trying to find QUALITY sushi in the Jackson Heights area- but now it's never been closer and convenient with Sushi Fella. I was hesitant due to the price and the fact that this wasn't a store front- but from word of mouth and so many positive reviews, I took a chance to celebrate a birthday with the set for 2. There's a reason why there's so many positive reviews and Instagramable photos - you have your high end manhattan-feel sushi at your finger tips now. If you didn't feel the love from the flowers or garnishes, you certainly feel it when you realize your sushi sits on a big ol' leaf and your ginger is in a paper boat. Presentation and eating with your eyes is a major part of this journey. I will admit the rolls weren't my favorite (a little too salty for my personal taste) but they still tasted fresh and certainly well made. The nigiri def. is 5x better than the nigiri you get from the other local sushi restaurants. To top it all off Sushi Fella, is a really nice fella! Call or text in your order a day before to secure it (you can order same day as well; I happened to order mine on Labor Day and I'm sure he had plenty of orders but managed to squeeze mine in same day ). So you love sushi. When is the last time you were surprised and delighted by sushi? Most restaurants strive for novelty through strange roll combinations that taste like a mishmash of unrelated flavors. Sushi Fella is your rare opportunity to discover something different, creative, innovative -- and also delicious. We had so many distinctive flavors to explore. Everything was meticulously prepared and beautifully presented. I so enjoyed it! My dad was surprised that the quality of the fish wasn't much better than some of the restaurants around here. I have to agree. The whole "solve for Instagram" aspect of this business doesn't mean you're getting a secret connection to better or fresher fish. Instead you're getting access to a creative chef who wouldn't fit in at any of those formulaic restaurants. read more

Interesting concept and immaculate sushi! I got The Killer delivered to Boca and it was a top notch platter with some unique options I hadn't tried before. Expert attention and skill to the sushi as well (no funky cuts or loose rolls even good sushi restaurants will give you). Definitely better than nearly all takeout/delivery sushi with some pretty solid value for what you get. I'll certainly be ordering again. read more

What a gem, The reviews and pictures looked so good. As a sushi fanatic, I had to give this place a try. The chef was super sweet and accommodating when I placed my order the day of. The order was packed with care, the decorations made the experience eating at home that much nicer. For $44, you get 6 rolls and 4 pieces of sushi. The rolls range from vegetarian, to salmon avo, tuna, yellowtail etc. Great size, great ratio of rice to fish- each bite was packed with so many different flavors that worked. If I could give more than five stars, I would. This is takeout only. Pickup or delivery. This was my first time ordering. When I got home and opened the bag, I was absolutely stunned. Way better than I expected. The presentation was just beautiful. Everything was so fresh and absolutely delicious. I'm a huge salmon fan, so I was happy to see my order had plenty of salmon in it. Macia San has an attention to detail that is just unrivaled. We've eaten lots of sushi in our lives, and this is one of our favorite. We love Tokyo but our trip to go back this year was canceled since the Japanese govt still hasn't reopened borders after the pandemic. This was such a beautiful way for us to enjoy a tiny bit of Tokyo at home. We started from the lighter side of the fiesta board (bottom) and worked our way upward to the deeper flavors. Each roll he creates is a story of flavor, and the layers of lemongrass, ginger, truffle, toasted sesame, miso, wafu, ikura, citrus...they are all chapters in that story. When you eat large quantity of sushi, it is important to feel that each roll has a unique flavor profile and each texture is different so that you are having a unique experience with each bite. Macia San delivers that experience beautifully. Each bite is a symphony of flavor and texture and you truly feel as though you are taking a journey. The ingredients are fresh, there is a lot of variety, and the entire experience of eating is elevated and enjoyable. Great job, BEAUTIFUL presentation, right down to the cute panda ;) We loved every moment of this and you will too! read more

I ordered delivery from Sushi Fella for a girls night and we were all SO impressed. First of all, he was very accommodating for gluten-free and other dietary restrictions, which is always a plus. Secondly, the platter were BEAUTIFUL and so unique. There was a lot of variety and every single thing was delicious. We left nothing behind! Maciasan is so friendly and delivered our sushi exactly when he said he would be there. Sushi Fella (and Macia San) is a delight! We ordered from SF a few times when he was based in Queens, always the Fiesta set for 3-4 people. (It's the perfect amount of sushi/sashimi/nigiri for our family of 4!) The platters are gorgeously presented, and I love letting the chef choose everything that goes into it (note that you can make requests if there's something, for example, you don't want included). It's a great deal for the quality (and amount) of the fish you get and the impressive presentation. Now that Sushi Fella is in Lake Worth, all the foodies in Jackson Heights miss him terribly. But we will 100% be ordering from SF again when we visit our Florida family next month, and we look forward to introducing them to this special sushi business. Sushi Fella isn't a restaurant but a delivery and take-out concept dreamed up by a chef named Maciej, formerly at Zuma and Nakazawa in NYC. My wife and I have been sushi lovers since the late 80s and this ranked right up there with the best we ever had in New York, San Francisco, and Hawaii. Not only was the fish super fresh and the rice delicious, but the rolls and other pieces were beyond creative and beautiful. We've never had anything like it! Add to it that M-San is the nicest guy, the delivery was to the minute, and the prices more than reasonable. Don't miss it. read more

Wow! This is the 1st word that came to me when I saw our order.We picked it up but they also deliver.The presentation was beautiful,a work of art. Amazing! Truly superior sushi. I'm not 100% sure what my wife ordered...but there were three or four different rolls and salmon and tuna sashimi and nigiri (plus scallops). Everything was extremely fresh, which to me makes a 5-star sushi restaurant. What made the food so impressive, though, was Sushi Fella's use of South Asian flavors in the rolls. I tasted a *very* subtle curry flavor in one and (I think) some mild cardamom flavor in another. Delicious! Plus, everything was thoughtfully and artfully arranged into a beautiful sushi smorgasbord. Excellent sushi that I didn't realize was in my own neighborhood. Chef Macia's preparations are delightful displays themselves and worth a few minutes of visual inspection before you take your first bite. I kind of just marveled at the seasonal fall flowers lying next to the different seaweeds surrounding the colorful rolls and sushi. The selections themselves are prepared with such care and paired with sauces, garnishes, and flavors that are really just as surprising, yet authentic. But after the first time visit, I am a bit hesitant to recommend this place to others with certainty. Sushi Bang bang is located in a plaza that is hard to find from outside so make sure to follow your GPS. They offer some parking spaces in the plaza where they are located.
