My son had a football game in the area so we stopped in for a quick bite. The space was clean. The service was pretty good and the food was pretty delish. You go in and order at the counter. They call you up when your food is ready. They were very accommodating to my husband's vegan restrictions. I would definitely go back if we were ever in the area again. They do have a TINY lot for parking.

KAO's is so good. I want to come back every day and try everything on their menu. We had the Drunken Noodles, Pineapple Fried Rice and the Rocket shrimp. Huge portions, freshly made to order. It was our first time at Kao's and our server was friendly and offered suggestions when ordering. We will be back... soon!

Big space but we were in the front. Seems like it was an old Mexican Restaurant. We got seated right away. They had to clean off the table. We had to ask them to wipe it down because they did not. I didn't want food to come on a dirty table. Server was nice and answered questions on the menu. We ordered. I got the creamy soup appetizer and the nom nom cold noodles with goza. Both were great and delicious. The soup was hot and had lots of goza and veggies. The noodle bowl also had lots of fresh veggies and crispy. The dressing is a vinegary mix that cuts thru the fresh veggies. It pairs perfectly. The portion is a good size. I was stuffed and could not finish. I really wanted to though. If you are vegan this is a good spot for you. Lots of choices. Prices were pretty good and you got a good amount of food. The only issue was the not clean table we had to ask to get cleaned. And they did that. Oh and the bathroom was kinda messy too. So take that as you wish. But not a bad find.

The inside of the new restaurant is much bigger, but you have to wait quite a while to be served and for your food. There are a lot of windows so the inside is a little chilly in the winter. We have tried to order takeout on occasion and each time something has gone wrong or something was missing. The pad Thai had no sauce or flavor on it whatsoever. They also don't serve as big of portions anymore and took away the large size bowls. I'm not sure what happened between the restaurant moving locations, but I hope it can get back on track. This used to be our favorite place.

You can come in for sushi, Pad Thai, hibachi, or something completely different and everyone at the table can find something they want. The Pad Thai is excellent, and I really appreciate that you can adjust the spice level on it and most of the hotter dishes. You can actually get some heat if that's what you like instead of everything being toned down. The staff has always been friendly and attentive every time I've been in. The bar is another big plus. It's a full bar, the bartenders know what they're doing, and the drinks are every bit as good as the food. The atmosphere works whether you're stopping in for dinner or want to sit at the bar and have a couple drinks. Great downtown location, huge selection, great food, and consistently good service. Definitely one of my favorites in South Bend and an easy five stars.

I liked the ubi dessert, though I don't think that was cheesecake lol. All in all a good experience and heading back. Not sure how to rate the Ambiance, it was okay, place was much too big with a bunch of tables. Felt like there was a lot they could do with it. but Not quite sure what the ambiance was supposed to be.
