The samples were over seasoned and Carmel was too hard. Not for older people. Cheddar was good.

Well beside by an ice cream souvenir dish $12 and get a mini sundae. It was well lighted, and okay on candy choices, it was like $19.98 a pound of candy (self serve) , the staff was not friendly. So over all experience, we keep looking for a candy shop we want to return to in town.

This place isn't what it used to be. No homemade ice cream. No chocolate covered strawberries…read more Jelly Bellies (primary reason we went) were $19.99 per pound! I can get them on the Jelly Belly website for less than half that! The one thing good I have to say is that their pralines are the kind I like most (really buttery tasting and dry/crumbly rather than sticky/chewy). But it was nearly $30 for 6 pralines and one small candy package for my kids. Communication was also difficult as the people there struggled with English and they didn't seem very friendly. We didn't buy any Jelly Bellies and left disappointed. I'm so sad because this used to be our favorite candy place in Pigeon Forge. Also, the prepackaged Jelly Bellies were $6.99 and we found them at the candy shop inside Dollywood for $3.99. Never imagined a shop inside a theme park would be so much cheaper than a standalone shop. It's like they don't want to sell anything.

Some attractions sell an experience…read more Some sell a product. The Apple Barn Cider Mill somehow manages to do both. What started as a simple stop turned into one of the more enjoyable experiences of our trip. The star of the visit was our guide, who took us on a cider journey through the various flavors and offerings. She was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what she was doing. She answered questions, explained the differences between the ciders, and made the tasting experience fun instead of feeling like a sales pitch. And since there's a chance she might somehow see this review: Happy 40th Birthday! Sorry I forgot your name, but your hospitality certainly wasn't forgettable. Now let's talk about the cider. Excellent. There was a large variety of flavors available to sample, making it easy to compare styles and find a favorite. Whether you're new to cider or consider yourself a seasoned enthusiast, there's enough variety here to keep things interesting. After sampling our way through the lineup, we wound up purchasing a glass of the original apple cider and enjoyed it outside. And honestly, that's where the experience really came together. Sitting outside with a fresh cider in hand, playing cornhole and Jenga, enjoying the atmosphere, and slowing down for a little while made for a genuinely relaxing afternoon. No rushing. No crowds pushing you along. Just good cider and good company. We also picked up a growler to bring back to the hotel because one thing became very clear during the tasting process: leaving empty-handed would have been a mistake. The Apple Barn Cider Mill does a great job creating an experience that's welcoming, fun, and memorable without feeling overly commercialized. Great cider. Great staff. Great atmosphere. Five stars. And judging by the growler currently waiting back at the hotel, I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

The bright colors in the windows definitely attract kids. The shop was filled and loud with Spring Breakers (proverbial kids in a candy shop). The clerks were busy filling orders. The iconic shop opened in 1939 and all the candy is homemade. I'm not sure if "homemade" means they make everything in store, but you can watch them make some of the candies when you visit the store. Besides candy, they also sell locally made jams and other gift products. Anyhow, who can resist fresh licorice. Not me. I would have had some chocolate, too, but the lines were too long. Love this local candy shop! Parking is a bear! Good luck. We rode in on the trolley so we didn't have to deal with parking.

They have the absolute best butterscotch candy I have ever had. I would order about 10 bags at a time. Then suddenly, they stopped mailing service. I understand like chocolate or ones that may melt, but why not hard candy??? I asked for an exception and was told, it's a nice drive. Wow. New owners probably don't know I was told that. But maybe they do. What a shame!
