First time in coming back from Rainier. Service was great, bartender was very sweet. Ordered the Cowboy burger and a large pizza- both were awesome. This was a surprise, we stopped here for a quick bite and ordered the gizzards which were very tasty and the onion rings yummy. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but go inside and it's not much, but it's clean and food is actually good for a greasy spoon. So I never would have foreseen myself venturing out to Kapowsin. The closest I had ever been is Graham, and that was for my first year of student teaching. But lo and behold I meet a fantastic guy who happens to live in Kapowsin. Fast forward a few months later- we have been dating awhile and we were looking to get a good breakfast on Easter Sunday. We decide to visit Kapowsin Ale House & Grill, and man, I am happy we did! We were the only customers there- which was almost uncomfortable, but understandable being Easter Sunday- but all awkwardness went away when our waitress approached. It's been awhile now so I do not remember her name but she was absolutely the sweetest woman ever! It was some of the best customer service we had had in quite awhile. I attempted to give her a rather large tip- hey, it was Easter and she was working rather than being with her family- but she graciously refused, insisting I take half back. When does that ever happen?! In terms of the food- I had the fish and chips and my boyfriend had the club. We both felt our meals were good, but nothing special. A few months later, however, we ordered a custom pizza to-go following a long fishing trip at the lake, and let me tell you- that is definitely their speciality! This place is awesome! Friday night is peanut night-just throw your shells on the floor. I think the pizza is one of the best things on their menu no matter what toppings you get. The waitress was so sweet I adored her!!! But the food was absolutely horrible, fish was froze still, tater tots tasted old my husbands meet on his burger tasted like sausage and we both feel sick now that we're home. Let alone the facility just about made me loose my appetite, there was chew spit and chew on the ground, cigarette buds everywhere, the "regulars " were creepy and rude, the owner was sitting outside Bull shittin while the 1 person working was busting her ass I felt so bad for her! We saw the excellent reviews on this place so we decided to go. From the time we got there and ordered our beers it was evident that we maybe caught them on an "off" night. Our first round of beers were ok and didn't take more than 20 minutes to get to us (a little too long for us but no biggie.)We ordered some basic food off of the menu (burger and two pizzas) and waited over an hour to receive our food. The pizza was dry and lacking sauce but my basic bar bacon burger was good overall. My husband ended up sending his flat/skunky second beer back and the waitress seemed less than happy to accommodate us. Waitress was less than attentive on a not so busy night. Took us another half hour to get our tab. Not a super clean place but has good potential for a cool dive bar. Overall not a great experience and will not be returning. read more

So John and Lani from Roy, Wa. had a bad night, before or after they came to the KT? Not sure, but if they had a bad time it had to had been completely their fault. The beer there is super cold, the food is quality "bar food" for what "bar food" is, burgers, pizza, and deep fried stuff. I've visited with and have been served by most of the staff and can say in all honesty they are all super friendly and engaging. It's up to you to make your own good time, not the responsibility of the wait staff. So come in relax, order one of the many beers on tap, turn to the person next to you and make a new friend, maybe for life. If the jute box isn't loud enough they'll turn it up, if the TV is on the wrong station they'll change it, if it's too cold, they'll fire up the gas stove, you get where I'm going with this? Been coming here for few years now, since its close to home its a awesome place to have a pizza or Burgers, good selections on beers, Prices are cheap, I rather come over here to have a burger than some fastfood place, Quality is way better than a burger fast food joint and pretty much same price for a meal just tastes better. read more
