So this place is not at all what you expect... They have amazing food, great service, and fantastic music shows. It's a really small, relaxed venue and it's really fun to show up whether or not you know the artist that is playing. Their food is genuinely delicious... They buy locally as often as possible, and they are consistently excellent. This is one of our favorite places to duck into on a date night because it's so close to our house. We will continue to show up, even if it's just for one drink and split an appetizer after bedtime. :) read more

So Christmasy! Definitely feeling the holiday vibes here. The lady that works there is nice, but should smile more. They have a curated holiday cocktail menu, I tried several different ones. Not the best cocktails I have had, but not bad either. We tried the game hen, which was enough food to split between two people--always a plus in my book. The skin was crispy and meat well seasoned. Roasted vegetables were yummy and very savory. A comfort food menu item for sure. They have live music on Saturdays, but seems like they wrap up around 9. Happy we stumbled across this place. What a let down my visit to this place was. I hoped for more, but in the end I can only give it a 2 star rating. It's only that high because the waitress serving us was very attentive to our needs. They should read the definition of "happy hour" because what they offer during that time is not worth the time it takes to get there. So I haven't been here before but I knew the place existed, I saw it shuttered during Covid and had concerns it would not open. Finally I got my chance to stop in and didn't know what to order so I tried the happy hour menu and ordered the cheeseburger. I am a big eater so I thought I would try the nachos too. The burger was damn good you could taste the burger well seasoned and I would bet handformed, it was really good. The nachos had me questioning them at first since they are on Tim's potato chips, but I tell you what they were delicious , the jalapeños and pickled onions were great with the pulled pork a definite hit. The place is pretty low key it was Sunday afternoon, pretty much had that old neighborhood bar thing going. Rugby on the Telly and some group talking about their golf game. I really enjoy this place. Been coming here a while. They have some really nice staff & most of the food is top notch. From the burgers (my favorite), to really good appetizers (except the chicken wings: bland & no flavor), to the main courses. I usually come in once or twice a week, sit outside by myself, quiet & tip well when deserved. I've always been told when I try to order at the bar first to grab a seat outside & someone will be right with you. So I went and sat down outside like normal. Inside the bar had two people sitting there & maybe 4-5 tables of 4 people or less. Not crowded at all. 1 bartender, 1 server. Outside it was just me & a table of 4. The server brought out some food & a couple drinks as I sat down, then returned inside. Then came back with another drink & dropped it off with them, then looked over & told me that I had to order from the bar because that was the policy for sitting outside. I was surprised at this laziness. Not sure if this is a new policy, but not a fan. Even if it was the new policy she could have easily taken my first drink order & explained I needed to proceed to order inside to continue. Never had a problem here with her or anyone else, but I find this policy rude, & quite honestly only hurts the server & bartender tips. Head scratching, but honestly I believe it was her made up policy. Been here so many other times from open to close & never once told that, and I tip well if deserved... not ruining my enjoyment of this place, but certainly not going to back for a couple weeks. Tried this place because the reviews were good. Please read the reviews -perhaps we just ordered things that were not good. I ordered the pork nachos and had 1 tablespoon of pork. I mentioned something to the owner showed her the pork, and she insisted that the pork was imbedded in the cheese. She then proceeded to tell me that she watched them make the nachos, which was hilarious, because she's the only person attending the bar. I suspect the ratings are for the bar, I would go someplace else for food, save your money. read more

Our friends live over here so we gave it another shot (twice), the food is actually delicious now! Friday service was really slow, waitress was really nice and funny, but we waited like 2 hours to eat. ‍ We went again in a Thursday, food still delicious still friendly and nice waitresses but food came MUCH faster. So not sure if it was just the day or shortage of staff that Friday before. All in all, I would recommend you give a try! Especially because the food is sooooo much better now! The personal touches put into this place speak volumes for how much love went into this remodel 8 years ago. The bartenders are attentive and the service is personalized. The owner, Lauren Lively, took over when the previous proprietor's lease expired. Lauren is an old hand in the hospitality business. She cleaned the place up and used the Covid shut-down to make exstensive renovations. The Pub has the best "bar food" in the South Sound. Live music on Wednesday and Saturday evenings. Closed on Monday. Oh, they have a "full bar". If you get there before they open, they have a coffee shack next door. read more

Stopped in to have lunch after a visit to the VA. Nice looking place. Ordered a blue cheese burger, salad and a beer. The plating was super. I was excited to maybe have found a decent place to come back to. Everything about the actual hamburger was great, but the meat. Even had them ad fresh roasted jalapeños. It's was super thin, tough, dry, and well over done. Finished it despite the lack of is own juices needed to wash it down. Went in for the salad and nearly every piece I plucked out was limp, slimy and browning. When I was asked how was it. I explained the above. she proceeded to turn her back on me plate and salad in hand walking away, says "at least you ate it all." Followed her to the bar counter to pay and politely asked if the patty was frozen or fresh? "Fresh and the salads is too. I just bought it." I tried to re-explain and she barked at her cook staff that, "he didn't like anything!" Dismissing me as I was complaining. All I wanted was to have a nice meal. Aw man! This place lost a loyal customer this afternoon. We recently moved to the area while I was on maternity leave. Understanding that they don't do carry out I would go on my walks with my newborn, order a drink and food, finish my walk and pick it up and tip well for the "inconvenience." Today, my husband, infant and myself tried to stop by for some food and was stopped at the door and was told "no babies!!" We didn't know that of course, so we were obviously very disappointed and asked if one of us could stay inside and order a drink and food and take it to go. The bartender asked the owner and he said no, without even coming out and acknowledging us. Just very very poor customer service. This is an update from my 2016 review of 5 stars. Where to start, how to describe something that was once great to now below mediocre. I understand the pandemic changed a lot but to get rid of the ultimate classic dish they once had, that was there pre covid. Two years later of closures. Now, almost the entire food list is made with pork. We don't eat pork, luckily the bartender told us the potatoes are also cooked in pork grease. Which is a cause for us to drive farther or as my wife said we will do more home cooking to control what goes into our food. The drink prices are higher than bars in downtown San Francisco. The bartenders are nice they get five stars. The cook team who don't know better but doing what they are told gets five stars for making it happen. With that said being about our neighborhood local pub, it breaks our heart to part ways. So every time we want to go to the local pub we will put that money into an index from now on. read more
