    The Special: Green Shahshuka

Wow! I was throughly impressed with this gem of a restaurant. I ordered the green shakshuka special, a cup of coffee and a biscuit sandwich to go and was amazed of the quality of food from this made by scratch restaurant. First the green shakshuka was one of the most flavorful and healthy dishes I've ever had. They nailed it! The coffee combined with the attentive and friendly service gave you that classic dinner feel but with a healthy and more sophisticated and modern twist. The biscuit sandwich, which I ate much later, reminded me why this little restaurant off of 19th street can do anything. You can't go wrong eating here.

Love love loved my visit here with the Great J David! My oh my I have no idea what I have been missing out on! The egg scramble here is incredible as was the biscuit with the blueberry preserves. Everything tasted fresh and AMAZING. The customer service was nice and friendly too. Parking free and easy. Seriously, what is there not to love about this place?!

Ramen special on a Monday in December. Kimchi, coconut, chicken..... cant remember the full description but it was so good!!

It had been a while since being here but im so happy I went recently. The chicken noodle is very good (what i used to purchase regularly with bone broth to go!) lots of cilantro! This time I had the special which was a Ramen dish... kimchi coconut chicken something....see my picture. It was awesome and i took a lot home, had leftovers twice! Also remember the squash soup being amazingly delicious and the minestrone (on special). The service as always was super friendly, attentive and helpful! They were working hard on that monday!! I love the open kitchen, watching all the dishes coming out, its bright, very clean, has bar seating, long booth with tables and chairs, on big hightop, and outdoor seating! Cant wait to go back!

Got it! Here's a polished Yelp-style review that includes ambience and staff friendliness: --- The Stock Pot Review The Stock Pot is always a favorite of mine. Every time I visit, I have to order the OG Fried Rice! !t's my go-to dish. On my last visit, it was a little heavily seasoned compared to other times, but still absolutely delicious. The drinks here are consistently good, which makes the meal even better. The only downside is the drinking water, it's never quite up to par and always leaves me a bit disappointed. That said, the inside of the restaurant is really nice. The ambience is warm, inviting, and makes it a great place to sit down and enjoy a meal. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, which adds to the overall experience. Despite the small hiccups, The Stock Pot remains a spot I'll keep coming back to, especially for that OG Fried Rice!

Tucked just off 19th Street near the Oceanfront, The Stockpot is one of those spots that manages to feel like a hidden gem even in a busy area. One of the best surprises? They actually have a private parking lot, which is almost unheard of that close to the beach - definitely a win if you've ever tried to parallel park at the Oceanfront in the summer. I went with a friend and we split the Trio Dip Platter to start, super fresh and colorful. It came with a solid scoop of chicken salad, creamy green pea hummus, crunchy cucumber and celeste veggies, warm pita slices, and a small side of tzatziki. It was light but satisfying, and a great sharable option if you want to sample a few things without getting weighed down. For my main, I ordered the Chifrito Salad Bowl, and honestly, I was not ready for how huge and hearty it was. The bowl was practically overflowing, packed with flavor, and the pork carnitas were seriously next level: tender, juicy, and falling apart in the best way. It was one of those rare salads that doesn't feel like a compromise. My friend went for Anne's Chicken Noodle Soup, which had a bit of a twist with soba noodles. She couldn't stop talking about how good the broth was, super savory and comforting without being too heavy. Overall, The Stockpot feels like a place that genuinely cares about fresh ingredients and thoughtful prep. Whether you're a local or just spending a beach weekend, it's absolutely worth a stop.

OG fried rice and the Anne's chicken noodle soup are the best!

One of the best breakfast spot. Coming here for the 6th year, the food quality is still up to the standard! OG fried rice and the Anne's chicken noodle soup are the best!

Came here for brunch this morning and everything was amazing. I am reed a blood orange mimosa and the Baja skillet breakfast. The food was so delicious. The employees are always so nice and friendly. I love having w this restaurant is so small and intimate. I always like to sit at the bar when I'm dining in. One of my favorite brunch places.

Great spot! I've been here twice and have had good experiences. More recently, I got the avo toast-- this was delicious and I would order it again (they were super generous with the avocado which I appreciated. The balsamic-like taste also made it tasty). The brookie I ordered was quite dry and I couldn't bring myself to finish it. When the waitress said they had hot chai, I was expecting a latte not a cup of tea, but I guess that was on me. Last time, I got the chicken noodle soup which was super flavorful and unique. The staff is very friendly. The vibe of the restaurant is cool too-- very warm and relaxing. I thought the pricing was pretty fair too. Recommend to anyone in the area!

Loved it here! Took a quick drive a little ways from the beach because there were lines everywhere for breakfast. Found the Stockpot. Nice people, great food. Known for their toasties, different flavors each day. We got one to try-Mac and cheese & pork belly was the flavor. It's like an uncrustable. Delicious! Breakfast was fantastic.

This is probably my 10th visit in the past year alone. I absolutely love this place. Especially on a day with perfect weather, you can sit outside on the covered patio and enjoy mimosas! Mimosas 5/5: I've lost track of all the flavors I've tried. But my favorite is the lavender! OG fried rice 6/5: I can't help but get the same dish every time. It's just too good. The rice is so good and crispy! Rosemary biscuits 5/5: I first tried this with their soup of the day. In the fall they have butternut squash soups. They'll had a small cut of their biscuit to the order. You can order the biscuits alone, they're sooooo good and made fresh. They also have drink happy hours each day of the week' not sure what times since I never make it. Breakfast specials from 7-10am, includes coffee and sandwich for only $7! They also have food specials such as ramen or paella. I just follow along on social media to find out the special. Limited but free parking. Otherwise street parking but very walkable and close. If you're at the convention center it's only a short walk over.

I visited the Stockpot twice in one day! I was in the area for a conference and stopped in before for breakfast. My avocado toast was very hefty and hearty. The bacon was divine. I came back with the group I was with for lunch. I had the Cypress sandwich and soup. Very much so recommend the mushroom miso soup and my country ham sandwich was very good. Everyone in my group also enjoyed their meals. We got there before noon and were seated quickly. As we were leaving, around 12:30 it was quite busy and there was a wait. However we never felt rushed and were welcomed the entire time. Both times the service was impeccable. Can't wait to go back!

    Seafood Pot Pie

We loved the Stockpot! Such a cute spot with delightful decor and elevated cuisine. I ordered a special, the seafood pot pie with crab, shrimp, and scallops topped with cheddar biscuits. It was amazing. My friend really enjoyed the Southender as well! My only pieces of constructive criticism would be the price of coffee/tea and to have cream and sugar on the table instead of having to ask or have it added in the back. Hope to return!

Turkish Breakfast** with blood orange juice & coffee
    Ian M.

These folks knock it out of the ballpark every single time. What an amazing place to enjoy a meal. Surrounded by happy house plants and nice decor and wonderful culinary scents, this place was the best find in Virginia Beach ever...! Since I'm not local, I feel drawn to my all time favorite breakfast, the Turkish breakfast (pictured) AMAZING array of flavors and choices. I always add the lamb patty and falafel. It's hard to finish, but I give it my damnedest...! They also have exotic juices, like the pictured blood orange juice available. The servers are very personable and take great care of all patrons! Enjoy this amazing restaurant experience!

The wait can be long, especially on weekends, but the experience while waiting actually adds to the charm. I have been to this restaurant a total of 3 times and have always ordered the same dish.. what can I say I am Catfish and Collards kinda girl. Ordered Fish and Grits with a side of Collards on one occasion and I believe with Mac and Cheese & Collards on the other two. The dish is called The Tail of Two fish. It includes one piece of catfish and one piece of whiting.. I substituted for two pieces of Catfish Fried Hard.... If you know. You know. First time collards were decent but nothing to drive in traffic towards oceanfront for. The staff claim to like their Mac and Cheese but I am definitely not a fan. I personally will not Reccomend. They are not horrible but what can I say, watery and lacking layers of flavor and creaminess that one desires when eating a comfort food like Mac & Cheese. The fish was good especially with some Hot Sauce. Grits were ok but I've had better. Cocktails are amazing BUT pricey. Please be mindful that when you are a mixed drink off the menu for example, A lemon Drop, Margarita, any signature drink... it automatically includes alcohol BUT your waiter will ask you what kind of alcohol would you prefer... for instance Don Julio or Patron.... If you select on of those option you will be charged for the cocktail plus the UPGRADED liquor of choice. So if your Margarita is $16 On the menu (that includes liquor) IF you choose one of the choices being offered to you, you will be charged an additional charge for the shot in your drink. For example if you chose Don Julio when you ordered your cocktail. That drink now almost $30!!!! $16 for cocktail on menu PLUS example $12 for a shot of Don Julio... NOW that 1 cocktail cost $28 ish. If you have 3 of these bad boys thru out the course of your meal or happen to ask for a drink with a double shot, be prepared to pay more money for your curated cocktail then you entire meal! The service was excellent BUT I try believe that it's the waiter/or waitresses obligation to advise that when you order your drink it comes with alcohol and if you choose one of the alcohol options that they are providing for your drink, to explain that that is a up charge and you don't have to to pick a brand of liquor because the drink made as is already includes alcohol. This information was not related to any of the guests sitting at my large party and some cocktails actually came up to almost $50 per drink!!!! Quite INSANE! Gratuity is automatically added on for single orders and or large groups. Perhaps the waiters attempt to upsell the Too Shelf Liquor and don't explain. The additional cost to ensure a larger bill which leads to larger amount of gratuity. ‍ who knows but some of my guests complained to the manager and she apologized for the lack of information. Back to the Food! lol Fried Green Tomatoes!!! I normally love them but I know many places cannot truly execute them and Milk& Honey is definitely one of those places that should not have this dish on the menu! Fried Green tomatoes should be FRIED, Seasoned & CRISPY! By adding a dressed salad on top of the tomatoes, your fried green tomatoes is now a SOGGY unseasoned, lukewarm tomato.. I do not Reccomend. Order at your own risk!!! You have been warned! Fried Deviled Eggs. Every person that I have dined with at this restaurant most definitely HIGHLY RATE and DEVOUR the Deviled Eggs. So those get 5 's Shrimp Po Boy Sliders were a hit and fan fave but I believe those were part of a daily special. Peach Cobbler Empanada for dessert was a nice sharable between two to simply try something new. Overall I normally spend at least $100 for my meal, cocktail and at least one drink for the guest of honor including tax and gratuity. That's a bit high for a brunch when the food is a hit or miss. I had such high hopes for this restaurant to be in the 757 area especially because I've heard great reviews from the chains in the DMV area. I disliked that many of my guest were disappointed and dissatisfied for my Birthday Brunch

I already knew this was my destination as I had been following them since they opened in VB. Upon our arrival we found the Cafe about a 1/4th of the way full so I had hopes for breakfast in a quiet setting. Even though there was a steady flow of traffic, we were able to dine in a relaxed setting without feeling rushed. I mention this because with it being a holiday weekend full of Jeepers, I fully expected them to be packed. The wait to order was too long as it left me staring at the pastry window so long I almost ordered one of everything however; I refrained from doing so but still bought 4 pastries, French toast & seasoned potatoes. Yes yes, alot of food for 1 person but I still had 2 days left in my visit and well, I have a thing for pastries. The pastries were: mango & passion fruit eclair, a pineapple muffin, lemon raspberry cake & profiteroles. I loved everything with the exception of the eclair. It wasn't anything against the eclair, it's just the mango/passionfruit mixture was just too passionate for my tastes. The muffin reminded me of my own homemade upside pineapple cake without all the brown sugar. It was light and buttery. The Lemon raspberry slice was delightful & not the least bit tart or too sweet. A mixture of both flavors without either one overpowering the other. The cake was super moist, perfect. The profiteroles were my favorite. They reminded me of that feeling I had the 1st time I tasted them while living in Italy. The choux perfectly baked and so delightfully light. The French toast was good enough without the side of syrup. The star for me of the breakfast items were the potatoes. I LOVED them. They were served HOT, seasoned just right with their insides softer that a baby bottom. I coulda just ordered 2 servings of those & bypassed the toast. All in all, well worth the wait. The folks were friendly, the Cafe clean and the seating plentiful and comfortable. I would recommend this place for both pastries & French toast & spuds.
