We even got mussels with butter and garlic on the house since they wanted feedback before adding to their menu. We also received complimentary miso soup! The Ika Geso was a bit fishy... I've definitely had better. The Saba Shioyaki was not bad, but also a bit fishy. The seafood quality is not the most premium here. The Unagi Kamameshi had a very fun presentation! The broiled eel was very flavorful and delicious, however, the rice cooked too hard in the cast iron pot. It was a bit difficult to eat the rice. The Tonkatsu Curry Udon was also just fine like I feel like I could make better curry... it needed more umami or maybe even just salt. The tonkatsu was crispy and good tho at least read more

Super delicious food with kind staff! I was here with my family for an early dinner and there were a lot of families in here on a Sunday. I've been eyeing this place for over a year now, so I was excited to finally take the time to try this spot out. The interior is super clean and simple and the cutlery is very pretty. My husband and I were in the area and decided to grab some food to go from Kare Bar when we saw it. We walked in and were immediately greeted. It's beautiful inside and very welcoming. We asked if they did take out, and they warmly ushered us over to the menus and let us take a seat while we decided what to get. We decided on the pork katsu curry, the chicken katsu curry, and the yuzu cheesecake. The owner was very kind and told us to take a picture and give them a call next time, so we could get it quicker. She even let us sit down at one of the tables. The food came out fairly quickly (10 minutes) and was perfectly packaged. The curry was in a separate container so you can air fry the katsu separately and still have it crispy! I will say, the pork katsu is definitely a bigger portion. And for the price of the cheesecake, it was really small. Maybe 3 bites? I probably would skip dessert here and stick to the pork katsu curry. The curry was delicious as was the katsu. Came here for a lunch date. They have curry dishes with cutlets. You can choose which meat cutlet you'd like. We didn't see that the cutlets came with sides, so we orded potatoe salad side. Our curries, did come with potatoe salad on the side and pickled veggies like raddish and mini cucumbers. I liked how simplistic the atmospher was. I do wish the music speaker would be removed or moved to the front of the establishment towards the window. It took away from low-volume conversation at our table. It was very light and bright texture wise inside. The service was very attentive and checked on us constantly. We liked that the curry dishes came out quickly. The Food: After browsing their menu, I decided on the Unagi Kamaheshi. It's a Eel over rice bowl on a sizzling cast iron pot. The Eel was absolutely delicious! It was fresh and flavorful from the sauce, and paired tat with some white rice just made it better. I will say, the portions for this dish is quite small for the price you pay ($24). I thought I would've had more Eel, but it's whatever. I personally wouldn't get it again, maybe another dish. The Service: Service was great! Staff were very friendly and attentive. Kare Bar is big on social media...according to my teenage son...and we love Donburi & Curry so we made the trek to nearby Chantilly where there are now numerous Asian food choices which is great. Kare is definitely designed for the Tik Tok/Instagram crowd as it has a nice modern, clean look which would be right up my son's alley if he were going on a date. Donburi is one of my fave comfort foods so I have to order that (pork cutlet). We also order the curry katsu. They come out on a nice tray with a side dish like potato salad or Japanese pickles. I will say the food is freshly made and I believe all from scratch. For example the curry doesn't seem as salty and I venture to guess the chef makes it from scratch as opposed to using the curry cubes you can buy at the asian market. The katsu is so well breaded and the meat is still juicy. I also love how the curry comes on the side so that it doesnt make the katsu wet and I can control how much curry I want. The curry is incredibly delicious and has a deep hearty taste. I also had a taste of my friends salmon dish and that was also good!!! May get this next time.
