I've been to them twice now. The first time was after my battery died and I got a new battery at Auto Zone. Auto Zone tested my alternator also and said I might need a new alternator. I took it to Kar Hospital and they checked it out and said everything was good with the alternator. I don't think I've ever left a mechanic without dropping a penny until then! I just recently went back for a transmission fluid drain and fill and also let them know that my maintenance reminder light had come on for the engine coolant. They tested my coolant and told me it was fine and we could check it again next year. They very easily could have told me I needed it done since the maintenance reminder light had come on, but nope they actually tested the coolant to see if it was okay. Went here for the first time just to get an inspection and boy was I impressed. They were fast and didn't try to sell me something stupid like most places just because they see I'm a female. They literally did my inspection in under 10 minutes. They got my car in right away and hooked it up to the machine. I'm used to going to places where it's 30 minutes before they even take your car to hook it up to the machine. But not this place! I will definitely be back! read more

Kar Hospital has been around for a number of years and seems to have a loyal customer base. There's good reason for this. It is a family-owned and run shop that provides excellent value and honest service. They make a point of giving every vehicle a bumper-to-bumper check of the major systems each time it comes in for service, but I have never experienced any sort of hard-sell for additional services. No one tries to force your hand to buy extra service you don't need. They'll make service recommendations, as any good mechanic should, but each recommendation also comes with advice as to whether the repair is an urgent "do it now" matter or can wait for a more convenient time. Add to this the fact that the folks who run Kar Hospital are nice as can be, and it's a definite winner. read more

This little auto mechanic shop is amazing. They are honest, direct, friendly, and helpful. My wife and I get my oil changed here, and they let us know of any issues with our cars - big or small - that we should pay attention to. Well let's just say racist here told me they couldn't do my oil change at 4:30 while I see that the princes restaurant waiting on my brother seeing them fix cars as they pull up with only white people getting out. I took my car in one morning because it kept stalling. They cleaned out my battery terminal and said that will probably fix the problem. They also changed my oil per my request. I was charged ALOT more than usual and just cleaning the battery did not fix the problem at all. I took my car to a friend who said my oil was very dirty (one week after Kar hospital "changed it".) I took my car into a shop where they found the problem in one hour. It was frayed wires and cost me $60. Problem fixed. Kar hospital says they charge more for quality service but really I wasted a couple hounded dollars. I would suggest to look somewhere else to take your vehicle. read more

Floored by their honesty. After husband gave up troubleshooting electrical issues on a 94' minivan most mechanics don't have diagnostics for. Kar hospital took it in. Thought they had it sorted but hadn't. Back to the shop Easter weekend, had it by Wednesday. It took him 6 hours to figure out the dealer part he had previously installed was shoddy. The amazing part is that we only paid $40 when he could've charged us for at least a couple hours for troubleshooting and claimed it was a loose wire or something very easily. This guy is my hero among mechanics. I would highly recommend. Shop is also very clean and organized. Super professional! read more

Always a great service at the Kar Hospital. My car broke the day before Memorial Day week end, potentially ruining my plans. My car was looked at right away, and got fixed in no time. This is where I go when I need a competent advice anything fishy with my car. A weird noise? A trip to Kar Hospital, and the noise is gone. The service was wonderful! I took my car in for an intermittent problem with my air conditioning, and they had to keep working on my car for most of the day to try and duplicate the problem. I was very impressed to receive a call from Kar Hospital explaining that the electrical problem I had would need to be address by a dealership! That is true integrity and honesty, something not seen often at car repair places. I was treated very courteously by Alicia in the office and David who worked on my car. They also did a great checkup on my car, making recommendations for my next service, with no pressure at all to have them completed on the spot! So I went to the place across the street from Kar Hospital first because I saw that Kar Hospital was by appointments only. Well come to find out the place across the street was also appointments only and he told me he was too busy to even run the machine to see what was wrong with my car. Well I said what the heck let me go try Kar Hospital and see what the earliest appointment I can get. I got there the lady at the front desk (forgot to get her name) was super nice and she went and talked to the mechanic Derek to see if he can run the machine and see what's wrong with my car. Well he was kinda busy but said he will do it. He came out like 5 minutes later and ran it and told me it was nothing major. My check engine light came on and he said it was due to the control thermostat (don't know anything about cars so wasn't sure what all that was) but pretty much he said my coolant was good and somethings the weather throws off the thermostat. Well I really liked that he was completely honest with me and was very helpful. He said if the check engine light comes back on I could come back and he would order the part and fix it. I'm sure other mechanics would of just made me pay right then and there to just get the part. Derek was honest and treated me like a person not someone he can just get money out of. I went here to have my car inspected. As I am relatively new to the neighborhood, I choose them based on their clever/corny jokes that I see on their sign all the time. They did a quick and great job, and did not try to sell me any of the common easy upcharges, i.e. "cabin air filter." The young lady at reception was very kind and personalable and gave me a set of pink pearls as a mother's day gift, no cost.
