UPDATE: So Santa Ana Auto Care's owner has reached out multiple times wanting to make things right. I did go back to my dealership to get my front brake pads checked one more time to be sure they have not worn down to 3 mm in a "week." They assured me it was still at 5 mm and even brought me to the back to show the measurements while the car is mounted. However, the Santa Ana Auto Care's owner was being sincere in about appeasing my displeasure with their initial service. We came to an agreement in the end and I will give him credit for that. Will I go back for any future auto services? Probably not, but I appreciate they care enough to make things right. read more

The only thing this shop was consistent with was their lack of communication, within their shop and outside of it. I have had the pleasure of dealing with them from October- February. They did not fix the original issues I came in with. My car was given back to me the first time, with one of my insurance claims ignored, and the other incomplete. However, they did find time to charge for additional maintenance they thought would be best for my car to have. This was of course to be completed before my two insurance claims I came in with. I had to get my insurance to light a fire under their ass because they wouldn't get back in touch with me and I needed them to repair their mistakes. Once I brought my car back for the second time, after ignoring many of my attempts to find my mat for my car they, fortunately, did in fact, "locate", my weather tech mat that was, "missing", since I picked up my car the first time. They also dented my car during the first drop off (looks like a pierced hole) that I communicated and showed proof of when I picked it up the first time- unsurprisingly they took no accountability for this action. This shop couldn't even leave on a good note. All I asked for was paperwork that stated what they completed the second time they had my car. They had a record from the insurance claim repair that they finally finished, yet they had no record made of the mechanical repairs they did. They decided the best option was to get rude and unprofessional by exclaiming they did what they had to do to have me "dealt with". After berating me I finally accomplished getting a record of the changes applied to my car. Furthermore, they remarked giving paperwork should not be necessary, and they never give their customers paperwork for their personal records. This place is great! They are prompt, communicative, honest, and worked with me on cost. I originally brought my car in for collision repair, and needed to get general maintenance done as well - 60k miles, and 75k miles. As expected, there were a few recommendations they had once they got started (brake pads, spark plugs, and air filters), which were adding up pretty quickly. I decided to prioritize the necessary repairs first (brake pads), and they ended up shaving the cost down on the spark plugs and tossing in the air filters for free! Having done some research on what I should expect to pay for these services, I appreciated that their original quote was within that range, and that they tried to help make it more cost-effective for me. Being a woman, and not knowing a ton about cars, I'm always a little worried about mechanics recommending repairs that aren't actually necessary at that point in time. That thought definitely crossed my mind, but once I got my car back, it was driving NOTICEABLY better!! The brakes were way more sensitive, and the car was accelerating much more smoothly without me having to floor it. I also no longer have to accelerate as much coming out of turns! Overall, I had a great experience at Santa Ana Auto Care, and will certainly plan to bring my car back in the future. read more

Update Response to Mohamad: Mohamad has informed me that the bad employee is gone which is great news since everyone else there is very nice and professional. RE GM Strike: I am aware of it but that does not absolve your business of making things right. The issue was clearly the fault of your business and this went on for months and at some time you should have decided to just buy the part, plenty were available for 30 dollars for a set of 4 and probably available by the each for a lot less, and send it to me. It should never take months to resolve an issue caused by a failure on your behalf. RE water pump for the 2011 CTS: Please tell me you don't charge your customers by what results you get while Googling. All those prices are BS! I bought a 12,000 BTU / 1 ton Panasonic mini split, 700 dollars, to provide cooling and heating to our poolhouse and at checkout I was offered install for 1,000 dollars. Did it myself and a fair price is about 500 to 600 dollars. Furthermore you don't need to mention your insurance, overhead etc. it is irrelevant as the labor rates cover all of that lets just say 100 dollars an hour for basic automotive repair. Here is the link to buy an AC Delco GM OEM replacement part for 129 dollars. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B007QBP71S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it is also available from Wallmart for that price so given that how much labor is needed to do the job correctly. I also checked on quotes from other sources and I was seeing their price as 385 dollars with them estimating 420 for auto shop and 450 for dealer which are all way less than the 550 dollar quote that you gave me. Original Review: I had started a review for this place that was 5 stars but now that I have time to finish it they can no longer be recommended. Originally they did great work and the owner / staff were very friendly and professional. For the last several times we have been there one of the owners? / employees was nothing but short and indifferent and I will go way out of my way to avoid any business that bites the hand that feeds it. We are easy going and courteous to all businesses / staff that we visit and so it is beyond not warranted. As far as their work, it has become problematic and they offer the minimum effort to resolve issues. They: Returned the car to us with the gas fill not properly connected to fender and so it was coming loose and about to fall off and they only fixed it on another visit. Returned the car with a new wheel emblem either missing or not properly attached and had no resolution for months, I asked them to just mail it to me so I can attach it. The claimed due to a GM strike they could not get it but I found many for sale online so what the deal really was is a mystery. And finally returned our car with the over priced cosmetic engine cover completely missing and they just said come and get it and we said no way you have to deliver it because that place is a long way from where we live and it used to be worth it going there but never again. Not all work there is bad and we are happy with the body work the did but they fail when it comes to the details and there are closer likely better places to get work done. Finally as far as price I previously was fine with their prices but it just seemed lately their prices were high. Last quote for work was to replace a water pump on a Cadillac cts for 550 dollars. We replaced it ourselves with the GM part , about 150 dollars, in less than 2 hours and I could do it again in under an hour. So seems 400 dollars an hour for labor. No thanks! read more

We were in town visiting from Austin when our car started smoking up like Cheech and Chong. Worried that our vacation was going to be worried we searched for highly rated mechanics in town. Santa Ana just so happened to be one of the best rated nearby and I'm so thrilled that it was. Hasan warmly greeted us and took our car back almost immediately where he and his team quickly and efficiently identified our issue. He talked us through each step of the way and assured us he'd do what he could. Being that this happened on a Saturday (today, actually), the only concern was finding the part to fix it. But Hasan called around and stayed late to make it happen. When everything was said and done, he also gave me info on recalls made by Mazda about my car, other issues he noticed (brake pads, etc.), and peace of mind on how to proceed if this issue occurs in the future. I can't fully express how grateful we are that this was taken care of by Hasan and his team. Every single person that was in the shop getting work done had nothing but great things to say Santa Ana Auto Care and I can absolutely understand why. Excellent service! Hassan was very helpful and made this process quick. I went in Friday for my oil change, for which I normally go to the Range Rover dealership to get. The dealership charges 4 times more then Santa Ana so I thought I would try Santa Ana out this time. Santa Ana replaced my brakes about 8 months ago, and I have had no problems with them. This is definitely my neighborhood mechanic that I will come to for the majority of my vehicle needs. I have a Range Rover, and they are able to handle everything that I have requested. I initially found this shop after researching online and reading the positive reviews. I've been here a couple of times since and the service has been outstanding. Hasan and the rest of the staff are very professional, informative and nice. Hasan kept me apprised of the status of my car while it was there. He clearly explained the problem and the repairs were done at a reasonable price. It should be noted that I brought my car in after another shop damaged my vehicle and they were not able to fix the problem. However, Santa Ana was able to diagnose the problem and repair it. I was very happy and impressed with everything at the shop. Again, the service was great, the prices are fair, the shop, waiting area, and restroom are clean and well kept. He explains what is happening, shoots your straight on what is really necessary, works with you every chance he can, and the pricing is very fair. I liked them so much, I ended up having them do my body work at the attached body shop and they gave me an incredible deal. They even vacuumed and cleaned the interior. We stop at this repair shop by pure accident after our air conditioner went out in our truck, and what a surprise we got. The owner Hassan Ana all of his staff was supper helpful, they went and did an analysis of our truck found the problem and gave us a very reasonable price to get back on the road. However seen it was so late in the afternoon, the parts he needed were not available until the next day so we left the vehicle there and Hassan him self drove us to our office to pick our other vehicle. I came in thinking Auto Zone had diagnosed the many light appearing on my dashboard. Fortunately for me the caring people at Santa Ana did their own diagnosis and it more nearly fit with the condition of the car. They were instructive and helpfully explained what needed to be done, ordered the part and installed it.
