I wish I could give them a better rating as they did fix one lock quickly and accurately. However, they took all the hardware for the second lock -- all brass lock set for wood sliding door -- to find a part. That was a month ago! Never heard from them again. I have called four times this week and they promise to have the technician call me. He NEVER does. This is upsetting as it was an expensive set and I have been given the royal run around. BEWARE! All I want is my lock back but they keep putting me off. I bet they used it somewhere else! This is no way to do business! JUST AWFUL... UPDATE Less than five minutes after posting this review, the owner, Ben called me. He apologized profusely for the way things had been handled. He promised to get my lock back to me right away and as an offer of apology, he would credit the payment for the work he did on my other lock. It arrived hours later and the technician said it was a misunderstanding. I have changed my rating as it was impressive how quickly Ben resolved it. read more

Simon was extremely helpful and he clearly had my best interests at heart. I wound up changing a number of locksets to a brand he recommended; it cost me less money. The labor rates were extremely reasonable given most of the work was completed over the weekend. Short way of saying 5 stars ++ for integrity. From the moment I called the main number to when Nick showed up was approximately 35 minutes, which by LA standards qualifies as warp speed. Nick was friendly, professional, and sympathetic, especially after I explained how my key fob w/a dead battery got locked inside my car. These guys provided excellent service at a good price. Here is my story, in full: My roommate wakes me up this morning with the news that her purse (inc phone and keys) was stolen last night. "Find my iphone" is indicating that hers can be found on the side of the 2 freeway, right next to our house. So at 830AM I drive us to the location, park on the side of the freeway, and sure enough we find her phone! Screen shattered but working, total miracle! Unfortunately none of her other items are with it. So we go back home prepared to get new keys made for her car only to discover IT IS NOT THERE. The thieves used her ID to come steal her car from outside our house. So now, we obviously need to get our locks changed too. I called Kardo because they were local and had a few good recent reviews. I called at 10:30AM, made an appt for 12-1pm. The representative showed up around 1230, and called at 1140 to let me know his expected arrival time. He replaced 2 locks (front door and garage door) and gave me 8 sets of keys, as requested for $104 and was done in about 30 minutes. I don't do this often but that seemed like a reasonable price for the work and his time, and was in line with what the man initially told me over the phone. He was also very nice and pleasant to interact with; I wish I had gotten his name. What a nightmare of a morning; and they made this part of fixing it very easy. I got locked out of my house and lost my key and desperately needed service that could work with my budget. I messaged the business and Ben got back to me VERY quickly letting me know that they would be happy to help and could absolutely be of service. I set an appointment for 6:00 PM and a technician named Leo arrived promptly and got to work. It took him a mere 5 seconds to open the door I had tried desperately to open myself. He then made new keys and installed a lock almost just as rapidly. The whole service took maybe 15 minutes and my new lock and keys work better than they originally did!
