This is your neighborhood friendly nail salon and is my go-to for a quick pedicure. I have also gotten my eyebrows done here, and I've always been satisfied when Karen does it. Recently, I decided to get a manicure with acrylic tips. Although I was very happy with the color and I like that she doesn't pack on the acrylic powder making the nail have a thicker appearance, the white french tip lines were inconsistent and I was very unhappy with the outcome. Moving forward, I will not be getting my nails done here but the other services they provide are satisfactory. They are short staffed so try to go there early because the wait can get annoying. If and when you do go, have Karen (the owner) service you. If you aren't doing gel polish, bring your own quality nail polish because their nail polish does not last very long. They've done some renovations to the place but the aesthetic is still not the best with boxes piled up on each other along with some clutter. I went there early. Got my toes done and the older woman did a great job, a week later under my feet still feel good. I'm going back again, oh and my nail polish didn't rub off and I've been soaking my feet in Dr. Teal's along with endless showers. First time going pleasant experience and the massage chair give a good massage, I was able to do it twice before my feet was done. Love love love and i suggest you give them a try read more

Once again, foolish Rhonda cheated on her beloved nail salon. It's not my fault this time, they're not open on Mondays! When I walked in I was greeted promptly & asked if I was getting a pedicure. It's a good thing I always bring my own color because there wasn't a wide variety to choose from. From what there was to choose from was those really cheap no-name polishes you get from the drug store for $1.99. Sat at the pedicure station, went to adjust the chair & turn the massage on, but of course it was broken. Boo! My broken back & I are uncomfortable & massageless! Karen did my pedicure. The nail clipper she used to cut my toenails had a little bit of rust on it (Ick). The container with the "sterilized tools" was turning yellow. I believe it started out clear (Double ick). I'm like 78.4% sure she used a cheese grater on my foot (better than the blade, I suppose). The pumice stone she picked up looked like it's been in use for months. It was gross & dirty (Triple Ick). FYI: The bottom of my feet still have dry skin on them (TMI, I know, but this was the whole reason I got a pedicure!). Now on to the manicure station. It was covered in dust. Seems like they use the drill heavy in here. When I was picking my gel polish color the bottles were covered with dust. The manicure was pretty standard until she pulled out the buffer that looks like it's seen better days. It had more cracks than the sidewalk. Then she pulled out some random tool that looked like a bullet and rubbed it over my nails. Maybe it was some sort of file? Who knows? I should've asked, but I was caught off guard. I had to move over to another station because it was the only one with the UV light. Man these things are ancient & dirty. They were white but now they're yellow. It got the job done nonetheless. I was considering getting my eyebrows waxed since I couldn't get them threaded before my trip, but after the mani/pedi I opted to keep my crazy brows. They probably have been using the same stick for a week. This salon needs a major makeover. Pretty sure if the health department or whoever is in charge stepped foot in this place, it would be shut down immediately. Service was great, the ancient tools & unsanitary jazz, not so much. Call me a nail snob, but I like when my pumice stones are clean. read more

Use at YOUR own risk. This place needs to be shut down. It's filthy , disgusting. I don't think that they have cleaned in years. You can tell by the layers of nail dust on the equipment. The lotion bottle is nasty. The husband and wife team do a decent job at doing nails but the place is filthy. Have some respect for you customers who patronize your establishment. CLEAN UP. The place is usually empty on the weekdays. No wonder. The most disgusting thing , the husband uses the same piece of paper towel over and over. Talk about cross contamination. first time going there, very unprofessional and rude male nail tech, nails and paint job was rushed, miss areas on side nails, also not sanitary especially druing covid, they should be checking temperatures, giving handsanitizer, and wiping down after each customer but they are not. I'm sorry but Karen & Jay have lost a loyal customer. I have been going to Karen & Jay since the first day they opened in 2009 (I believe thats the year, don't really remember). But now 2016, I feel as if I have been robbed as the years go by. From dull nail polishes to rushed weak services. With the amount of money I have pumped into this establishment you would think I would get better treatment but as the years go by the service gets weaker and weaker. Just recently I was charged $55-60 for a pedicure ($11.99) a soak off ($5) (which was not even soaked off, but actually taken off with a metro card and a cuticle cutter WHICH HURT EXTREMELY BAD!!) full acrylic set ($19.99) and eye brows ($5). For years I have been getting the same old design of my ring fingers full of rhinestones which are ($5) a finger equaling ($10). So after doing the math in my head everything came out to $42. After I asked Jay why is it $55 and he couldn't even answer me. HMMMM. Did I not mention I had to go Back to the nail salon the next day to repaint my nails because they weren't even dried after being rushed out of the store. After this last nail visit I will be taking my money and time elsewhere. So may someone please recommend a nail salon for a loyal good paying customer. read more

I have been coming to this place for 9 years and like it. The owners are the only ones who are allowed to do my nails though. In the past, others, who were working there, have done my wraps and fills and did a subpar job. My nails would look fake (which I loath with a passion). The shape would not be to my liking and/or It would be extremly bulky. As long as I patiently wait for the owners, my wraps and fill ins would look like my nails with a classy and clean manicure. The reason why I don't give Karen's place 5 stars is because it needs a makeover and the supplies used for pedicures look like they've been reused too many times. Other than that it is a good place to go to. The neighborhood is nice and transportation, along with finding parking (if you're driving) is easy. That is very important to me. Side note, I would advice you bring your own polish. They don't have the best options read more

DO NOT COME HERE! They rush on your nails. I also went here to take off acrylics and the guy literally took off a piece of my real nail and I had me bleeding and still wanted me to pay him! I was supposed to have them soaked off and he was such in a rush too while doing it. Definitely won't ever go back there! read more
