In any event I intermittent fast and I hadn't eaten so we stopped here on the way back. It's not the most promising looking place on the outside, it's fairly generic, not to mention the generic name. But inside it's cute and clean. The menu is a a good size with lots of options. I ordered the chicken satay and the papaya salad. I can't remember what my wife had but it was good. The satay was nice and not covered in gooey marinade. It was delicate and delicious. The papaya salad was huge and I ended up having it for multiple meals. I ordered medium which turned out to be pretty fiery but delicious. While I've found plenty of good Vietnamese I haven't liked too many of the Thai places here. This is an exception. And now I see that they have a second branch on Nob Hill which is near my house which is great.

I was told at the time that it was under new management, but even so, it should not have kicked its standards to the curb. I was afraid to eat their food after that. If you are going to advertise yourself as a Hawaiian food place, make sure you got the goods. We locals know the difference.

The fries are perfectly golden and crispy and the lemon garlic aioli is perfection. The fries are big enough for a meal or to split with a friend as a side. The sandwich was a good size too with a big sausage. I was not disappointed by either and wouldn't hesitate to order both again. The interior is simple but clean. The staff were overly friendly and welcoming! I sat at there diner bar style seating instead of a table. Their menu has several breakfast and lunch items available. I chose the pork in red chile sauce. It came with eggs, potatoes, and beans. The food came really quick, within 5-7 min. It was delicious!! The diced pork wasn't dry and blended perfectly in their flavorful red chile sauce. I tried the green chile sauce too, and it's fantastic but does carry some heat (just a nice warm glow not blazing hot). The potatoes, scrambled eggs, and beans bursted with flavor in the chile sauce. The sides were plentiful in quantity. If you are in downtown Albuquerque, you have to try Baca Boys!!
