We were up at the FriendShop bookstore in Rio Rancho; a great place that supports the library which I've previously reviewed. In any event I intermittent fast and I hadn't eaten so we stopped here on the way back. It's not the most promising looking place on the outside, it's fairly generic, not to mention the generic name. [[HIGHLIGHT]]But inside it's cute and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is a a good size with lots of options. I ordered the chicken satay and the papaya salad. I can't remember what my wife had but it was good. The satay was nice and not covered in gooey marinade. It was delicate and delicious. The papaya salad was huge and I ended up having it for multiple meals. I ordered medium which turned out to be pretty fiery but delicious. While I've found plenty of good Vietnamese I haven't liked too many of the Thai places here. This is an exception. And now I see that they have a second branch on Nob Hill which is near my house which is great. read more

We ordered egg rolls, chicken satay, pot stickers, teriyaki chicken with fried rice, pad see ew, sticky rice and some of their chile oil. Everything was so fresh and tasty! That chile oil is so fricken worth it. We loved it so much, we ordered it again the next evening! read more

We had the salad roll appetizer and the PaNang curry with chicken. $23. The salad roll appetizer was really good but the sauce was amazing! You should try! When the PaNang was ordered we were asked about the heat level we wanted. Low, medium, hot or Thai hot. We chose Thai hot. It was very flavorful with a lot of basil. It was also very thin - more like a soup than a curry. It was not very hot. Originally I was thinking it was more like a medium but it was a slow building heat and ended up being just "hot" but not Thai hot. The service was pretty great especially for the second half of our meal. We will go back for sure as Thai Cuisine was a pleasant surprise. read more

I popped over here for my lunch break, and my lunch came with soup, two little eggrolls, my main dish that I'll get two meals out of, and a tapioca dessert. We have been trying Thai restaurants throughout Albuquerque. This one is not only close-ish to where we live but is pretty good. I usually go for the curries. Tonight, I decided on the Pad Thai with medium spice. It was sweet, and the spice level was perfect. The thai green tea is different but has quickly become my favorite (my first time trying it was because the regular thai tea was sold out). We didn't get appetizers this go around but usually get the pot stickers which are equally yummy. Service is good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only complaint I have is that the air conditioner is perpetually set at sub-zero. Doesn't matter if it is mid-summer or dead of winter. Thai Cuisine in Rio Rancho is good to the area. I love Asian cuisine, and my favorite Asian cuisine is Thai. My wife suggested we try this place out. We've been waiting for it to open for months. Finally, it did. Believe me, it's been worth the wait. The staff at Thai Cuisine are friendly and helpful. They welcome us and very soon began asking what we would like to order. Here, you look through the menu, chose your selections, pay for it, including tip, before you sit and are served. I ordered Pad Thai. Pad Thai is my go-to dish when ordering something at a Thai restaurant I've never been to before. Thai Cuisine did not disappoint. This was a delicious dish. I ordered it with medium heat for the spiciness, because sometimes Thai food can be very spicy. Thai Cuisine's medium is hotter than other medium spiciness than I've had at other Thai restaurants in the area, but not so hot that you can't enjoy it. I have eaten here twice and loved it both times! The food is absolutely delicious and they will make substitutions and add or subtract to any dish to customize it for your preferences. They also always ask the spice level that you want. Atmosphere is casual and relaxed. I had the Massaman Curry and asked for extra peanuts and mild spice it was the bomb!! Most importantly... The food is very good. Between this and another location it's probably the best Thai food on the west side. That said, they really really need to work on their phone system. When they get too busy, they stop answering the phones and it gets really frustrating... I don't mind having to wait an extra 15-20 minutes or a half hour...whatever...but just take the call and tell the customer... everyone can budget their pick up time accordingly. I ended up having to drive up their place the order and then wait about 20 minutes for the food... It would've been nice to have ordered it and then just gone and picked it up... I know, a complete goldplated problem but it's my two cents so there :-) Back to the food... If you have a little kids, and they are not fans of anything spicy... Be sure to just ask for no space. They are remodeling their building, we ordered from their food truck. I didn't know what to expect. They had menus ready. We decided on Teriyaki Chicken Lunch Special. Included was a Tom Yum soup, sweet sour flavor, the chives were strong adding a lovely flavor. Two vegetable egg rolls, the outer layer crisp, cooked to perfection, earth tasting veggies . The teriyaki chicken meat was very tender, with just enough flavor to enhance not over whelm. The cabbage, broccoli and carrots were cooked to a nice tender state locking in flavor. The jasmine rice portion was a bit to much, it had a good texture and flavor. For dessert Tapioca pudding with sweet coconut milk, yum, yum. No one leaves hungry! I have a feeling of deja vu as we pull into the parking lot- I've been in this building before. But it wasn't a Thai place then. The door opens into a large open area with a counter, to the left is the dining area. Order then sit. I elected the Yellow Curry with Pork and my wife the Red Curry with Chicken. Both ordered with medium heat. We shared an order of Chicken Potstickers. The potstickers came 8 to the orders and accompanied with sauce. They were nice and hot, crispy around the edges. The sauce was light and had just a little heat. After a short wait our curries were delivered. I got the wrong curry served - it was rung up wrong. Many apologies and correct one reordered and served (it's not what you do, it's how you fix it!) Both curry bowls were delicious (and huge). Sweet, smooth texture and on the low end of medium heat. Not a fan of potatoes in the yellow - but that's on me. They've done a good job here - if you like Thai you might want to put this place on your list. Absolutely not what I expected from a "food truck". We have been so anxious for the new Thai Cuisine restaurant to open, and I finally realized that their temp food truck is parked right in the lot. I finally stopped by last night for a quick dinner to go and was so happy I did! I had a bunch of questions when placing my order, and the cashier was so nice and made recommendations, all of which were great! payment was easy, and I got a little buzzer that let me sit in the car to stay warm and wait for my order. Once it was ready, I picked up a hot, nicely packed order and made my way home. The portions were big, veggies were fresh, and it turned out to be a very nice meal. A little tip - they don't mess around with the spice, even medium has a nice little kick. With as good as this meal was, I can't wait for the restaurant to open. We'll be back! read more

This is home cooked Thai food and it is made to perfection. The owners and the staff are happy with their jobs and that translates into good customer service. The building is old and the owners have remodeled it with epoxy floors. The dining room is simple and light. There are no upgrades to create a nice relaxing ambience.
