I have been visiting Karibu since it was at ghost food park. The owner worked the truck and was so friendly! I wanted to stop by but my fellow helpers alerted me to his new location. I stopped in and I was so impressed with the space and the vibe. The coffee has always been great but the beauty and the vibe of the cafe is worth the visit! I was happy to see that the owner was behind the counter and has included his children in his dream. There is an African heritage gift shop, a small stage, bathrooms, and a study/ quiet room. Karibu Coffee is an independently owned café located between Shipley Donuts and Burger Box in Pantego. Formerly a popular food truck, it now operates a brick-and-mortar location with a drive-thru. The shop specializes in Uganda-style coffee, roasted in-house using a small-batch roaster. Most of the pastries are made in-house, except for the danishes. The samosas stand out. Very fresh and worth picking up to go. A meal in itself. The space is clean, big, welcoming with little nooks, and includes local art and Ugandan crafts for sale. It's also available for meetings or small events. Staff were friendly and the owner, Felix, shared thoughtful and ambitious goals for the café's future. He's an asset to the community. My husband and I have been trying all the different local coffee places to find our favorite (and we are both pretty picky people haha) and this one has got to be our favorite!!! The coffee is fantastic even on its own or with the many flavors available! The coffee is from Kenya and Uganda and roasted in house. The Chicken Samosas were also amazing and our 7 month old devoured them, we had to buy more before we left haha. Felix, the owner, was very friendly and we enjoyed learning about how he makes his coffee and his story. Hooray to having a brick and mortar coffee spot in Pantego that isn't a chain. It's always nice to see a new locally owned business with a great product, especially one I personally love: coffee! Karibu roasts their own coffee in house and it's delicious. They also sell pastries and samosas and have plenty of seating. It's a cozy, homey, atmosphere and the owner Felix is so kind. So my Bestie decided that she needed coffee after we had lunch and we came over to Caribou, which is one of her favorite places. She had her coffee and I had a ginger turmeric tea. Very warm at the beginning, but very very tasty once it cooled down a teeny bit I was enjoying that and I heard someone mention a brownie and I really really wanted a brownie, so I went over and I had already finished my tea so I got another one. He recommended the black lavender, which has a really nice finish. Very tasty. I had him add a little honey. And my Bestie and I spread the brownie. There were little coffee, flavored beans on top that were perfect accent to the dark chocolate. And I'm seriously considering going to getting a second one because it is calling my name. Will definitely be back because the atmosphere is very chill with soft jazz and a nice comfortable room to eat in and there's a study room if you want to study here it's very much like a home. Tried Karibu Coffees Cafe for the first time today and I was so surprised how cute it is on the inside. I barely noticed a coffee shop had opened up shop in that building that has been sitting vacant for so long. It has a wonderful and inviting aesthetic with artwork from various artists covering some of the walls, plants, tons of different options for seating, a case for bottled drinks and another for pastries. It even has a drive thru, which I would've never known had I not decided to stop in. There is a little "quiet" room specifically for studying, which I think was such a thoughtful idea. You can tell the owner really put his heart into his small business. Speaking of the owner, he is the nicest guy! He is so welcoming and made me feel like a regular he's been serving for years. He also proudly roasts all of his coffee in-house. How cool is that?! The coffee is both delicious and strong! This review is for the newly opened (June 2025) storefront in Pantego. The space is very comfortable and nicely decorated. I particularly like the artwork and interior design. I ordered an Americano and it was exceptional. The quality of the coffee is high quality. They didn't have mandazi (the beignet) but the samosas were great. I particularly liked the vegetarian samosa. The baristas were friendly as well. Felix the owner was nice and engaging. You can tell this is a labor of love for him Highly recommend. read more

I'm from East Africa and was very excited to hear about Karibu Coffees Cafe. I saw the cart at an event, then found the truck spot and now the brick and mortar place. I haven't yet experienced what I grew up with there but it does have a great selection and variety of coffees and drinks. The ones I tried were OK, but was disappointed when he didn't have certain items. I went and tried out the Brick and Mortar place on Park Row and he was out of a lot of things. When I go, I want to experience a cup of chai like back home and some mandazi or samosa. He does have a good selection of pastry and desserts. I love the new place, the vibe is amazing, the set up is nice and all the decor reminds me of back home. I like the little store, the paintings, the quite room and the seating. The owner is friendly and nice. My review is meant more as constructive because I want him to do well. I ordered the Hazelnut latte and it was not sweetened or flavored. I also ordered the Italian soda and it was OK but I didn't like the ice choice and hope he changes it. I would like to see more back home selections regulary like Mandazi, Samosa's, Cassava Chips/Fried cassava, Chapati, vitumbua, Rolex etc. Will definitely go back again and try other items. read more

One of the newest additions to the Ghost food truck park, Karibu Coffees offers snacks and hot beverages to satisfy as you wait for your entrees from the other trucks, filling a perfect gap at the spot on the colder days. Service was friendly and quick as we chatted while he made our drinks. My partner loved her chai latte (she has particularly high standards on this topic) and appreciated the vanilla syrup addition to the mix. As for me, my hot chocolate was great: the chocolate used tasted darker than the usual stuff you find in most places and reminded me of Ghirardelli Square with its faint bittersweet finish. Half a point off because my partner's danish was a bit stale, but they just started and he mentioned he's going to be expanding his food options soon with Ugandan mandazi and samosas. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back and trying them while I peruse Green's Produce. read more

I got to the food truck pretty early so the store wasn't operating at full capacity yet. However the coffee and service is enough to make me want to go back again ! When I entered the shop, I noticed most of the staff in the back was engaged in some kind of conversation and not paying any attention to the front counter. After sometime someone noticed they came up to help me. Their approach to customer service was minimal. I ordered a regular coffee, since this is my first time there, I wanted to see how they're basic coffee tasted. It was very bitter.
