Pastries! Mango and Guava were our favorites. We also had empandas (not pictured here).

Best Cuban Bakery! Very friendly staff. All bread and pastries are baked in store every day. Great selection of items - pastries, empandas, sandwiches (breakfast and lunch/dinner). Genorous portions. VERY friendly staff. Super clean. Other comments talk about the neighborhood - yes, this is part of the Cuban neighborhood in Miami - neighborhood is a little rough, but the culture is beautiful - and the people running this location care about this neighborhood. The staff told us that many people who move to Miami get their start by working at Karla's - they even have a program for special needs people. They sell pastry and sandwich platters to-go.

Colada, Cuban Pastries, Service, Vibes.. 10/10! Next time you're in the Weschester area, make sure to hit up Karla's. I'll definitely be back!

My friend had a flight flying out at 5 in the morning, which meant we were up at 2 am trying to find a last bite of Miami food before leaving. This place was super close to the airport. PARKING: Plaza has a parking lot. Pretty empty late at night. FOOD AND COFFEE: All the croquetas, papitas rellenas, and the guava pastry were pretty standard, and nothing stood out particularly to me. My favorite though was the guava and cheese tequeno, which had the perfect amount of guava and was heavenly eaten hot. The chicken pastry was also unique to me, a little sweet. The cortadito was also pretty solid. SERVICE: The ladies working were super super sweet and friendly! We joked around a little bit and were very accommodating when we had questions or asked for boxes or straws. VIBES: We ordered to go, but there was no shortage of seating in there. BOTTOM LINE: Pretty good! As a non-Miami native, I don't really have a lay of the land when it comes to Cuban bakeries so I'm sure there's better. But for me, everything tasted good and I was happy with my order.

pan con bistec i have to throw away of the mayo, sour orange juice. "pan con bistec" but it brings ham and swiss cheese for some reason lol

asked for no mayo probably 6 times. got mayo on my sandwich. can't eat this $20 sandwich yes $20 cus after the combo w the orange juice it ends up being $20 and i can't eat it. there is no actual cuban flavor in this place capitalism took over lol, ladies were nice nothing to say about the place save your money and go somewhere else. i've come here a couple of times and i guess it's my fault since i continue to have bad experiences here, last time they forgot my empanada. this time the mayo thing. the time before that they didn't give me an order of tostada i had to go back and pick it up and they gave me attitude like crazy. my boyfriend has had his orders messed up too, the orange juice is sour. A waste of money disguised as a bakery i'm telling you. sorry to be gross but included is the pic of the sandwich i will be throwing away bc of the mayo and it tastes gross anyway, also the orange juice was sour. no vibes.

Different look but familiar taste! At first glance these don't look like your typical Cuban pastelitos. Wife and I decided to give Karla Bakery, located on Flagler and 64th Ave SW, a try. Inside seating is minimal but they have a large open space. We wanted to try the basics of a good cuban bakery, the tostada, croquettas and pastelitos. Their pastelitos didn't look like what typical Cuban pastelitos look like, shape wise. They were a bit larger than normal and most seemed to be encrusted in sugar. The queso and guayaba pastelito had a thick sugary crusty layer but inside was gushing with guava and cheese. The regular pastelito de guayaba did not have the sugar encrusted topping and I enjoyed that one more. Sometimes less is more. The croquettas were ok. The OJ was just perfection. The tostada good too. Be warned that if you ask for extra butter, your tostada will be floating in butter. The lines move fast and they crank customers in and out. Staff is nice but seemed overwhelmed on occasion. Wish they had a water station with paper cups as most Cuban bakeries. Overall everything was good. At $1.70 for pastelitos it seemed a little pricey but considering that they are a bit bigger than normal and at least the ones we got were stuffed with filling it was reasonable. Although 3 dollars for a tostada felt a bit much especially considering a whole cuban bread was 2 dollars. But nonetheless we were pleasantly stuffed leaving. Overall I would prefer a more typical Cuban bakery but they hit the spot if in the area.

This is really disappointing... as you can see both are ham and cheese look at one of them it's super old ...

We started with the goat cheese croquettes, which were delicious! The marmalade went well, and the pickles onions and jalapeños cut the richness and were a nice complement. Husband had the Masa de Puerco chino and loved it. Big tender chunks of pork, super flavorful. I had the abuela's ropa vieja, and it was perfect. I don't even usually like plantains, and the Maduros were delicious! Oh! And the Passion lemonade was SO GOOD!! Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Regardless when we arrived they sat us outside which is exactly what we were hoping for. Our server was nice at first. Explained all the popular dishes got our drinks out very quickly. I think she stole our table from someone else because shortly after someone came and we told them we put our order in and he seemed a little bothered. Unfortunately, our other server disappeared and never checked up on us. We pretty much didn't have any napkins during our entire duration of our meal. At least that part was good. We started off with a couple of mojitos and their Vaca Frita Tostones. You get these homemade maduro tostones topped off with shreeded beef in a moon sauce, pickled onion, and aji Amarillo aioli. A very delicious dish that didn't last long. Shortly after we received our main dish. I really hate when they do that. My wife ordered their Abuelas Ropa Vieja and I ordered their Masa de Puerco Chino. My wife didn't really care for her dish much. We've had plenty of Ropa Vieja before and would have preferred a congri type of rice as opppsed to just plain white rice. My dish was 10/10. Like in the name of "chino" this is an Asian inspired dish with fried rice, maduros, pineapple confit and crispy pork. A very delicious dish. It could have don't without the little salad on top, but at least it ads color to the dish. The crispy pork tasted so amazing and the fried had so much flavor. Mix in some of the maduros and you get a sweet and savory dish. Would definitely be returning to try this dish again.

We ordered the Cuban sandwich and the Cuban burger, and honestly both were dangerously good. The Cuban sandwich was exactly what you hope for -- crispy bread, perfectly pressed, packed with flavor, and the kind of sandwich that makes you pause mid-bite and just nod at the person across from you like "yep... this was the right decision." The Cuban burger was also fantastic -- juicy, flavorful, and big enough that you start questioning whether you should have skipped breakfast. The area around the restaurant was great too. Nice vibe, good energy, and perfect for walking around before or after eating... which you will probably need to do after finishing that burger. The servers were good -- friendly, attentive, and thankfully didn't judge us for attacking the food like we hadn't eaten in three business days. Overall the place has a fun atmosphere, great Cuban comfort food, and the kind of menu that makes you want to come back just to try the things you didn't order the first time. The roasted pork was tender, juicy, and packed with savory garlic-forward flavor. The crispy edges added a nice contrast in texture, and the mojo-style seasoning brought everything together with a bright, citrusy punch. It was comforting, flavorful, and paired really well with the traditional sides. Service was friendly and attentive, and the staff made the dining experience smooth even during a busy time.
