Karla's Kitchen is the only Peruvian place I know of in the area, and thankfully, it's good! Karla's is a food stall at Flourtown Farmer's Market. Last I checked, they're open for lunch Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. They serve up a variety of dishes to go or to eat on the spot. We sampled one of their dishes, perused the offerings on display, then made our choices. A friendly staffer warmed up our dishes in their microwave, and we sat by the window and chatted. I got slices of their pot roast, two shrimp skewers, and helping of their escabeche (prices vary per serving, some by weight; credit cards accepted). The food was as tasty as it was colorful: the escabeche was my favorite - the combination of onions, peppers, and sausage were lovely. We didn't get to meet Karla (she was on travel) but at least we enjoyed her cooking.

We've had Karla's cater two events for us. Wow, just wow. The food is outstanding and presentation is amazing. She is also super nice and considerate to any needs you may have. Will be having her cater every future event.

Caprese sliders, sliced flank steak, Peruvian chicken, amazing coleslaw and cheeseboard.

Wow. This place was really special. Small places, big flavor!! Prices were on the high end -- this…read moreis a special occasion place for my budget! But one I will definitely come back to again and again. Service was friendly and attentive, vibe was chill, decor was modern but not heavy handed. Definitely go with several other people -- you're going to want to try everything! Seriously, this place was awesome -- the kind of special place you'd find downtown, but right here in Mt Airy with free street parking. More like this, please!!

Brand new "gem" of a restaurant in the Germantown section of Philly! It's been open roughly 2…read moremonths now and gives upscale downtown fine dining vibes! A huge plus is you don't have to pay for parking. They have a parking lot but if it's packed you can find a spot on the street to park. Not ideal for large parties, I'd suggest no more than six (6) guests and book your reservation well in advance. It's a small quaint place and the food is very good. It's tapas style. Small plates meant to be shared. This way you can to try a variety of food when each person orders maybe 2 plates or more depending on your appetite. Don't go too wild with ordering too much though as some might find their food palette overwhelmed by the varieties and textures. Self-awareness is key! They have a nice selection of dinner entrees, well seasoned and vegan/vegetarian options. The menu changes every few weeks. My favorite were the lamb ribs! Better get them while they last since the menu changes. If you like spicy (hot) noodles the Rad Noodles might be your jam (shrimp, coconut red curry, thai basil). It was too spicy for me but i'm a baby when it comes to spice. I also thought the noodles were too cumbersome...They were cool looking just a little weird on trying to figure out logistics of getting them in your mouth. Slurp them? Cut them? Twirl? Our service was superb! Our waiter Doug was knowledgeable and he was hospitable in offering the best possible dining experience. In between meals he offered us Oshibori which are Japanese warm towelettes used to clean or refresh your hands. This really enhanced my experience and added to the warm welcome setting. Desserts are delicious but depending on what you get you might find it small and not worth the money. I think this will vary depending on what you get or just you as a person. I thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie baked in a clay dish and served with a dollop of ice cream. It was reminiscent of a brownie almost and was cooked with brown sugar butter crumbs..it was really an elevated way of presenting and indulging in a common fan favorite. Drinks are good quality and reasonably priced. Drinks can be strong but you get what you pay for! Nice selection of beers. If there's a wine you'd like to try before purchasing they allow you to sample.
