My friends and I have visited this place so many times, I can't count. And every single time, I have had not good, but AMAZING food. They have the best of everything they serve. Never have I had such tasty pho, lo mein, fried rice, wantans, or any other Asian staple. They also have the best Korean short ribs on the planet. This is the place I take people when they come to visit. This is the place I recommend to people looking for something new. This place can be overlooked on the busy S. Broadway corridor, but I am glad I gave it a shot. I have seen a few negative reviews about the Dan Dan Noodles, but I thought they were awesome. The noodle quality and consistency were fantastic. The chicken was soft and tender and the dish was complimented with a good amount of perfectly cooked vegetables. I've walked by this place countless times and never thought of stopping in. Perhaps it was the memories of the dismal Chinese restaurant that used to occupy this space, or maybe the name just put me off. For whatever reason, I've been depriving myself of damn tasty Asian fare right under my nose. I ordered the sesame tofu, which in 99% of restaurants is cloyingly sweet and artificial tasting. This sesame tofu was just right, with an underlying sweetness, but a hefty kick of spice that threatened to scorch the tastebuds. We ordered delivery from here. Service was quick and friendly. I didn't really enjoy the red curry or the mango curry. The red curry was too sweet for my liking, and I just didn't like the flavor of the mango curry. The evening's saving grace was the Shiitake Mushrooms with Scallops served over bok choy. I love Karma. My boyfriend took me there on our first date, and we go back every now and again partially because of the good memories, but mostly because of the good food. Rarely have to wait for a table at this place. I hesitated to review it on Yelp, just because I don't want too many more people to go there! It doesn't hurt that Sweet Action icecream is extremely close. Makes for a great date night! The Happy Hour is awesome. Pros - this restaurant is located in a happening part of Broadway. The ambiance inside is quiet with low lights. There's a bar if you want drinks. Cons - the potatoes used in my Penang curry were stale / tasted spoiled. It gave me the distinct impression that the curry was old/pre-made & later thawed. I went to this place a couple months ago for the first time after finding it on Yelp. My boyfriend is stuck in Denver this year and we really wanted a great Asian restauraunt so tried Karma Asian. LOVE IT. Adore their Happy Hour menu which we take advantage of on Sundays. B1G1 beer (including imports), Asian tapas and delicious chicken pad thai. We have also gone for dinner and were impressed. This place is never packed, so I hope other people frequent it enough to keep it around. Its on Broadway, probably my favorite neighborhood discovery since my first visit to Denver earlier this year. I was very impressed with Karma Asian! The menu had lots to offer. You could order anything from curry, to pho, to pad Thai and lots of wok options. My friends and I ordered Masaman Curry, pho (beef), and a sesame chicken wok. Each of us loved our meal. Loved this place! The spring rolls were made from scratch and there sauces were delicious. I ordered the Hong Kong Scallops with XO sauce... OMG amazing. Since scallops are so expensive I was expecting to see the small scallops in my dish... no these were the big diver scallops and lots of them! Typically I am used to getting 4... there were probably 7-8 I didn't count them. I was super happy. Wednesday evening late dinner turned into a good one after strolling up and down Broadway in search for something new. My boyfriend liked it more than myself but I still want to try it again and order my favorites. The presentation of the food is fanastic and the restaurant decor is five stars. I loved it in there! I got the Won Ton soup, he ordered the Sweet & Sour. The broth of the Won Ton soup was soo good and hot, my tongue is actually still in pain. The won tons were a little too chewy but it didn't matter, I ate it all up and slurped the broth down! On to the appetizer, we ordered the Shu Mai and the little shrimp dumplings were tasty and served alongside a beautiful purple flower. I'm kind of a texture person so my boyfriend ate most of the order. And last, the entree. We ordered the Chicken Panang Curry because of all the veggies. I absolutely loved how it came out in a ceramic bowl bubbling over the firey lava. The broccoli, carrots, bell peppers, potatos and the coconut milk sauce were stellar . The server even brought us two plates, each with our own portion of rice that soaked up all the deliciousness. I want to try the Pho, Pad Thai, Crab ragoons and the Lo Mein. So many choices! Oh myyy (said as only George Takei can do)! This place is d-lish! It's totally hidden within a busy strip of Broadway and probably goes unnoticed which is fine by me. You gotta be in the know to find this place but once you do prepare to have a solid dining experience. I think an Asian food place is only as good as its Pad Thai and this restaurant makes it phenomenally! I'm getting hungers just thinking about it. There is the perfect amount of spicy to go with the HUGE portion. And it's not just this dish - all servings are quite large which means leftovers. Yum. When I arrived on a Saturday night the place was full but within two minutes we had been seated and attended to by the staff. I felt very taken care of which is indicative of excellent service. Yet, they weren't overbearing - just right. Plus, they even packaged my leftovers for me - a nice touch. My Friend had the Drunken Noodles and we split an order of the pineapple cheese wantons. Yummy food and killer service makes me want to go back again and again to try other menu items. There is actually quite a bit of room so this would be a good spot for a group dinner or just a simple one on one date type thingy. Did I mention the full bar? Cuz that helps. I came in this evening for an early dinner with some friends, and I have to say, I really dig this place. It's close to home, it has a nice, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and tasty food. They have happy hour from 3-6, so my two friends and I decided on one order of each of the appetizers and a bowl of soup each. My soup was the coconut chicken soup, and it was very tasty (too many mushrooms, though, in my opinion). The appetizers were the lettuce chicken wraps (tasty), the chicken satay (also tasty, but nothing special), the pineapple cheese wontons (yum!), and the spicy edamame (delicious! Worth a visit just for this). The best part is, the servings are enough to fill three adults, and the total came to just over $10 each! Karma would be a great spot for a date. The lighting is a bit dimmed, and the music manages to be loud enough that you don't overhear your neighbors while not being too loud to hear your own table. Also, the servers manage to walk that fine line of being attentive but not hovering near your table and coming by every three minutes. One thing to be aware of, though: I came in a few months ago, and sat at one of the tables by the door. Service in that section is quite a bit slower, because they don't make their way to you as often. Aside from that, I would definitely recommend Karma if you haven't been. read more

This place rocks. Went there after not being able to get into our first choice nearby and actually were very happily surprised! We needed up ordering a ton of different plates to mix things up and try as much as possible. It turned out to be way too much food for two people, but it was awesome to try all those great flavors. Some high points: - The coconut milk soup with chicken was AWESOME. Super simple, but very flavorful. - The Korean style ribs were awesome as well - We loved the spicy edamame - The cheese wontons were amazing and as others have said, the green dipping sauce (mint?) was very unique and simply fabulous - The Kobe beef lettuce wraps were only okay Cool vibe, great food, helpful and attentive service, awesome location, very reasonable prices. 7/9/10 - My 2nd visit to Karma Asian was even more impressive than my 1st.. The service is impeccable. The food is amazing. This time I had the Spicy Sesame Wok dish with chicken. The steamed vegetables were so fresh and delicious. The dish was just a little sweet for my taste, but after adding a bit of the Siracha to it, it was perfect! I tasted my friend's Red Curry with beef. It was outstanding. I also sampled another friend's Jaam-Bong. WOW! I also had a taste of the Seaweed Salad (ok, several) and the Spicy Edamame. Again, WOW. Karma Asian just might be my new favorite Denver restaurant. - I was just introduced to this slice of Asian heaven. What an amazing meal. Fantastic service, great decor. I can't wait to go back. OK, I'll start off with my admittedly unfair expectations. I searched google maps for PHO near where I worked and this place came up. They have a pho section on their menu so I came down to try it. So off the bat my standard was a good bowl of pho like in San Francisco or Denver's chinatown. In addition this restaurant has the word fusion in it's name and generally speaking, to someone with an Asian palate fusion = crap. But I have been so pleasantly surprised by all the great pho in Denver that I thought I'd try it with an open mind. The decor is very nice! And when they brought out the pho it was in the coolest square black bowl. The definitely have a high end presentation. The broth is pretty far off though. Its cloudy, sweet and overflavored with none of the herbal notes in real pho broth. I actually suspect that this is boulion and water, but not as good as the pho boullion they sell at pacific ocean. The noodles were a little hard. Fresh handmade noodles are best, but dried ones are pretty good too as long as you cook them right. The beef balls and rare beef were good, the rare beef was more like nuggets than slices. there were no tendons in the beef balls. I also ordered shumai which came very nicely presented but were clearly frozen mass produced stuff. This is my first negative review ever, and I'm bummed about it. I realize that comparing the pho at a fusion place to the real thing is a great way to be disappointed and is not fair to the chef or establishment. And I'm sure that they have some tasty stuff on their menu that could be explored by someone else. However, aside from presentation this is the worst bowl of pho I have ever had. By all means explore the menu and form your own opinion, but if you are craving a bowl of pho and are on Broadway, do yourself a favor and just drive to federal and alameda. My husband and I love discovering new awesome places to eat, and Karma Asian fits the bill. They should call this place GOOD Karma Asian. I loved pretty much everything about this place. It doesn't hurt that I'm a Thai food FANATIC. So anyway, we were meeting a friend for lunch. We walk in and are seated. I admire the decor. It's very cozy in there. I love the eclectic light fixtures and the abundance of Buddha statues sitting 'round the dining room. So anyway, while we're waiting for our company to arrive, we order a round and we get some vegetable pot stickers. First off, can I tell you how awesome it is that they had VEGETARIAN pot stickers? Since becoming vegan last November, this is one Asian appetizer that I've missed the most because most places do not offer a vegetarian filling. So that's totally awesome. Cool points there. Our company arrives and we order. My husband and I both get the Tofu Pad Thai, minus the egg, and our guest gets the Pho. The Pad Thai has big thick noodles and the sauce is like no other that I've tasted. (And I've eaten A LOT of Pud Thai). My husband says that their Pud Thai replaces the Pud Thai at Spicy Thai (see previous review) as his favorite. I'm still on the fence on that one myself, but it was pretty darned amazing. Our friend appeared to be pretty happy with the Pho too. It was huge; he had to take some home. We ordered a couple more rounds, got our bill, paid and went happily on our way. My only constructive criticism is that at first, it seemed that the waitstaff was unhappy to be there. It seemed, however, that their demeanor changed after we had been there for a while. It's been three years since I wrote a Yelp review for KARMA and again I am back to send out A FIVE STAR RATING for Karma Asian on South Broadway. This is one of my "go to" places to get delicious food with excellent service in my neighborhood. From the pho to the wok lunch specials to the spicy edamame and I could go "on and on", I have never had a bad moment EVER at Karma. Today I tried two new dishes and was so so happy. Chicken Fried Rice and Bang Bang Shrimp and Chicken. The dish was "bang bang" for sure with a light curry, peanut, coconut sauce and PERFECT vegetables (red pepper, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, onion, snap peas and pineapple) with plentiful portions of both shrimp and chicken cooked to perfection. We had plenty to eat between the two of us and still took home another serving. Karma is my fav!!! Especially if you love fresh, perfectly cooked vegetables. They have a great happy hour from 3-6 with food specials (spicy edamame $3) and sake ($1) and beer special pricing. Buy one beer get one free. Followed advice of fellow Yelper's about this place and am really glad I did. We had the spicy edamame (5 star in itself), the vegetable spring rolls and the Tom Yum Goong (probably the best I've ever had!!), all of which was exceptional. For my main entree, I had the chicken pad thai...also very good. A little sweeter than I prefer, but very good! I've never been disappointed here. The best happy hour deal on the block and maybe Denver? Haven't found a better place or a better price. $1 sake on happy hour. Normal sized entrees for $5-$6. Place (4/5) - I like the layout and general feel of the restaurant. Service (4/5) - Friendly and good service. The staff cleared out my table and refill my drinks regularly. Food (3/5) - I'm a big Thai addict and after reading a few reviews on their Thai food I was looking forward to trying it out. So my GF and I ordered the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles. Both of the dishes were decent but it was very Americanized. They didn't taste like authentic Thai food at all. They also didn't have "Thai Hot" spice level, so the "spiciness" of it was very mild. The Spicy Edamame was pretty good though. If anyone is on an authentic Thai food hunt. Here are two restaurants that are on the top of my list in CO. For Pad Thai go to J's Noodles & New Thai near Parker and Iliff (do not go to the one near Federal, that one sucks). Get the country style Pad Thai there and their "Thai hot" is legit. This is my favorite place for Pad Thai. For drunken noodles go to Thai House in Arvada. Their "Thai hot" is legit too and taste so good. read more

Seasoned edamame is the best I have ever had...and that's a bold statement. Pho- enormous portion for cheap. Their veggie pho is absolutely fabulous. However I am not a huge fan of the beef pho. When the place is busy, the service can be a bit slow... so if you walk in and there is a lot of people, make sure to get an order of the Miso soup (amazing) as well as the spicy edemame to help the wait go by quicker. read more

Well given I love Thai food and have been to Thailand a few times to try it, yes it does taste the best there. I have vehemently avoided eating Thai here in the US. Why? Same reason why I prefer Mexican coke, or coke in France. There is too much sugar in the Thai food here. Well imagine my surprise when one night after a visit to Beatrix and Woodsleys we stumbled in here. I must preface this with the fact that this was the first time we have been here, so maybe a few more visits will garner a higher rating. We were out walking and decided to stop in for dinner. Walking in we liked the atmosphere, but BF did mention that the asian decor was a little disjointed. There was no REAL flow as there were things from all over asia. I blew it off as fusion. We always order drinks, since we be growed up... Hello Kitty - Ty Ku sake, citrus vodka, and pomegranate. It came in a ridiculously kitschy plastic, pink, coffee mug-ish thing with all these Hello Kitty decorations. No they weren't stickers, but in the cup. It was funny enough to take a picture, but then still kinda weird. The drink was ok, but a little heavy and sweet. Lucky Buddha - This is a chinese beer that comes in a green Buddha bottle. I took a quick sip and both of us liked it a lot. We got our dinner... Hot and Sour Soup - Good but seemed like it was from a can or package. There were some tasty bonito flakes in it that gave it a nice brininess. Kim Chi Fried Rice - Somehow I've never seen this one a menu before so I was intrigued. It was really yummy and I can't wait to have it for lunch tomorrow. Side note, don't add soy sauce. It messes with the flavors. Luckily, I just added a tad to one area to try it. Stir Fry - There are several options so he had the Mushroom and Bok Choy. It was pretty good too and the sauce was notably tasty. The only problem was there was something in it (we think bamboo) that tasted really medally so we guessed it was from a can. Bathroom - I don't typically note them but this one didn't sit well. The bathrooms weren't marked so as I go into the open one I notice a guy coming out of the other. When I walk into my bathroom the seat was up. Um, yeah I don't really want to touch a bathroom seat in a public bathroom. Please just mark them. The building is old so it was apparent that they painted the whole thing red...right over ALL the tile. It came off more like a horror movie and a little unsettling. There were even several very obvious areas where paint had seriously dripped down. The whole thing gave me a bad feeling. We will definitely try this place again and love the location. I'm so impressed with this place. First of all I'm a S. Broadway junkie. I live here, I work here, I eat here. So, perhaps I'm biased, but I don't think so. I've had a lot of different dishes here and they always impress me. But what REALLY impressed me was this; I had a friend in from out of town who'd had his jaw broke. Since his jaw was wired shut it was really hard for him to eat anything solid. I went in and asked if they could make some chicken coconut soup but without any of the goodies, so just the broth. They offered to cut up the ingredients tiny enough that he could eat them. I didn't have to ask, they just offered. Good food, excellent service. this place is sooooo good! Everything I have tried, minus the panang, has been spectacular. Even though dogs are accused of having bad breath, I just happen to be a halitosis phobic, so I opt for no onion chips on my hot and sour soup. And it is the most flavorful hot and sour I have found, especially since it's Meat Free! They also have this spicy mango tofu that is truly amazing! But the highlight to the night is the spicy edamame....Just make sure you have access to the doggie door in the morning, because you may need to go outside more than usual. read more

It was spicy and delicious and was not fishy. I never realized how much I would like Korean noodles. If it wasn't for the fact that I was so full of soup and noodles when I was finished, I may have ordered another bowl. The restaurant had fun decor, was all about Karma-like things, and delightful to eat in, and the service was amazing. I will be back! My friend introduced me to Karma Asian, and I'm incredibly happy for that! Karma has the best crab cheese wontons aka crab rangoon that I've found in Denver. They also serve my favorite desert ever sesame balls! Okay, well they have mini versions but you get 10 for 5$ and they deliver to my house!! Everything that I've had from here has been good, only a few things stand out, but those few are worth ordering/going here. I went here last night with some friends and my mojito had an "ice cube" in it that flashed colors. Go there, order one and see for yourself! I was considering knocking off a star because we ordered some delivery a couple of months ago and I got bottom of the barrel hot and sour soup...the kind where the carrots are mushy and there are big blobs of corn starch. And I'm not thrilled with the Ma Po tofu. Everything last night was a WIN though. I got green curry and it was delicious...not too sweet and the right amount of heat. It was missing eggplant, but the crispy fried silken tofu cubes more than made up for it. One friend got the Jaam Bong. I'm getting this next time! I managed to weasel a scallop out of his bowl and it was perfect....not fishy or rubbery but nice and tender. The broth was incredible - deep and rich with a bit of spice. Another friend got the Kung Pao tofu....hers was good too. Similar tofu as what was in my curry. I kept taking bites of other people's food, leaving little room for my own. At least there are always leftovers. It could be that we didn't eat until nine and I almost fell over from hunger on our walk over, but man was this food tasty.
