Finally! I think my quest for fantastic delivery has been fulfilled. After many, many (many, many) months of sampling Chinese and Asian-Fusion delivery joints all around my neighborhood, Karma Asian has landed in first place. Not just because their delivery is mega-fast and spot on, or because you get freebies when you order over $15. It's because the food is freaking delicious. Their spicy basil with chicken was delivered piping hot with choice veggies, and the flavor did not disappoint. And that hot, spicy kimchee soup? If you're feeling the slightest bit down (sick, or maybe just bummed, even), it will kick you in the pants. In a good way. Karma Asian gets my vote. I'll check in again and let you know how it goes after I've sampled half the menu. Based on how much I've been ordering delivery lately, that won't take too long! read more

I love to love businesses that love to love their customers! I came back to Karma recently this past weekend and was surprised to find that they have added a happy hour from 3-6 that includes a FULL order of their delicious pineapple cheese wontons for only $3! And a carafe of sake for $1! Did you read right? Heck yeah you did. All these goodies were just 2 of about 6 different happy hour tapas and drink choices to choose from. But I digress, I came for a purpose - after enjoying an extensive variety of asian-fusion goods at Karma I decidedly have a favorite - the tofu Dan Dan Noodles and Pineapple Cheese wonton appetizer and boy did it NOT disappoint! The Dan Dan Noodles with tofu include thick noodles that hold onto the sauce like a poker winner to his chips, a mother to her child, Jennifer Aniston to romantic comedies, bean sprouts, some green stuff, peanuts, a notable sauce with a deliciously spicy kick to it, and cubes of tofu that is PERFECTLY made - crispy edges, consistently chewy taste, soaked in just the right amount of sauce. As usual, our stainless steel water cups were always filled, food was taken in and boxed by the waiter (they give you a good amount), just excellent over the top customer service. Sigh. After such a good experience with the delivery of *the blessed pho*, my neighbor and I decided to walk down, arriving a bit before noon. Just like Arlyn, we found an empty restaurant besides a lone one top. The service was great, very friendly and prompt. Both of the people who served us were very concerned that we are happy and didn't need anything. The water was served in a little metal cups - how stinking cute are those? We both had the Jaam-Bong. It was so good, deeply red, spicy but not painful, rich and complex - full of cabbage, perfectly cooked noodles, shrimp, scallops, calamari and tons of garlic. The presentation was nice, the bowl was a small square mini-sink. Next time to this adorable little place I am so having the Hot Crispy Prawns. Those little critters are not going to stand a chance when I wander back in! read more

2 dishes to get: Spicy Edamame and the Tofu & Vegetable Pho I rarely eat out because I'm generally disappointed with the amounts of oil, salt, and sugar added to dishes to make them "taste good" but end up making me feel sick. Not the case with my dinner here. I got the tofu and veggie pho that had very crisp veggies and just enough flavor to be awesome (especially with a little of their red pepper sauce added in), and I got the spicy edamame which had good spices with just a slight amount of charred flavor. Yum. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars: I didn't see anything on the website about ingredient sourcing. I have a healthy fear of non-organic, GMO, Monsanto vegetables. read more

Yelpers, this is a call to action. Get off of your computer and into Karma. I am tired of being the only one eating there, and I'm starting to worry that my patronage alone, no matter how loyal, will not be enough to sustain the place!! I like a lot about Karma, but let me try to boil it down for you, busy reader. One star each for: 1) Vegetarian options abound. We're not talking just a couple of "can get without chicken" or "can substitute tofu" dishes. In fact, this is the only place I recall seeing vegetable potstickers as an option on the menu. 2) Presentation: Try a curry dish!! My favorite hands-down is the green curry. Served in an individual bubbling cauldron, the presentation is definitely not over-hyping the contents, which are a deliciously complex blend of flavors. If I'm in the mood to switch it up, I go for one of the Karma Wok options listed on the back of the menu. Again, I love the unique presentation in a compartmentalized tray. Choose your meat or tofu, and your sauce. 3) Pleasant, prompt service, without being intrusive. 4) Reasonable prices. 5) You can get a bottle of Tiger, a Singapore beer. :) Only downside I have is the darkness. It's okay for lunch, when there is good deal of natural light filtering in. But I'd prefer it to be a wee bit brighter in the evenings. That's just me. This place is awesome. We've gotten take out from them several times before and finally ate in this evening with a party of 8, including a newborn and a three year old. Everyone loved their meals (even the three year old). The pho was killer. The curries were delicious and my spicy mango wok with tofu was to die for. Every soup we've ever ordered from here has been great. My sister-in-law remarked that the wonton soup was the best wonton soup she has ever had. This place is almost always empty or close to empty. Great Chinese food for the price and convenience from the artists formerly known as Wokano Asian Bistro. We frequently order from Karma here in my office because we have quite the mid of dietary needs (two vegans, and many, many picky eaters). We've all tried a wide range of the menu items and feel that Karma has a solid menu with good consistency and flavorful food. APPETIZER: Vegetarian Pot Stickers - Pan Fried: Vegetarian Potstickers in general have a lot of issues. They frequently come out bland or tasting like yesterday's veggies had been dug out of the trash can or sometimes, they might even have meat in them because the chef wasn't paying attention. Neither of these is the case at Karma. Their vegetarian potstickers are filled with fresh vegetables and glass (rice) noodles. They don't taste like they've ever been frozen, and if they have, they sure fooled me. Kim Chi: Their Kim Chi is the real deal. It's spicy, delactable, pickled cabbage goodness. They are very heavyhanded on the chili paste, but not so much that you can't savor the vegetables. This chock full o' garlic dish is very reasonably priced and satisfies. MEAT: General Tao's Chicken: I know. I know! It's a cliche, right? Only one step up from ordering lemon, orange, or sesame chicken. I don't care. It's delicious, deep friend, and totally not authentic Chinese. That being said, theirs is fantastic. It's crispy and a great mixture of spicy and sweet. They've always been great about spicing it up extra hot, for me and toning it down for my wusstastic friends. VEGETARIAN or VEGAN: Spicy Basil Tofu: This intense steamed Tofu dish does not disappoint. The Tofu is cooked to perfection and placed in a light, ginger sauce with some of the most delicious Thai Basil I've had. The Jalepenos offer just a slight hint of heat, just enough to keep you happy. I order it with brown rice, because I'm just that kind of hippy, but you'll be satisfied ordering it however you like. For dessert, order the Sesame Balls. They're classic and don't change much from restaurant to restaurant, but somehow, they're just a little bit crispier and decadent here. The staff is always super helpful. Everytime I have to call them, I have to make some sort of special request and they will gladly tell you if there is any ingredient that you cannot have and because their food is fresh, they will create a special order for you. I have ordered fried rice and Mu Shu without eggs and they have been more than happy to oblige. The delivery is wicked fast, usually getting my food within 20-30 minutes (I work at 18th and Arapahoe, they are located at 22 S Broadway) and the delivery driver greets us with huge smiles all around. Just wonderful. Atmosphere, staff, food, price, portions. The food for lunch was very affordable. For under $10, one can get an egg roll, salad, small fruit, and main entree. The genmatcha tea was fabulous. The chicken I had was tender, the sauce was just the right about of spicy. I appreciated the fresh vegetables included. They were very accommodating to our group. Came to Karma on a suggestion of a friend who said it was a slam dunk. We were told to get the spicy edamame and the tofu drunken noodles. Considering I do as I am told, we got those two in addition to the cream cheese wontons (guilty pleasure). The spicy edamame was amazing. Just the right amount of kick, and the smokey flavor coming from the wok was perfect. The cream cheese wontons were exactly what I expected, and hit the spot. It came with what seemed like a mint sauce, which I have never had before, but it was refreshing. The drunken noodles were big enough for 2, and was the perfect mix of vegetables, noodles, and deliciously fried tofu. On our way out, the table next to us ordered smoked salmon cream cheese wontons, which will definitely be in my order next time. read more

I used to eat here when it was Min-Min, and stopped for lunch today at Karma. Whereas Min-Min had great chinese food but no real atmosphere, Karma has an atmospheric quality that radiates peace , and my $6.50 lunch was divine. Served in a Bento box with Japanese asthetics was perfect portions of fresh vegetables, chicken in a lite sauce with mushrooms, green salad, rice, miso soup, egg roll, and 2 slices of an orange. Very surprised to find an empty restaurant. The food is tasty and they give huge portions. Fave- Orange-peel shrimp:Finger lickin' good. Extra-large prawns and portion. Couldn't stop eating. Starting doing take out 2 years ago. Best fried chicken ever. It was addictive. That was when they were in their old location. Things have changed. Everything is still very good but the fried chicken, what a disappointment. Coating was soggy and fell off. No more Laotian rice just plain white rice or fried rice. If you go for nothing else, go for the spicy edamame. Oh my. The edamame is cooked in hot oil and comes out smoky, spicy, salty, and just plain fantastic. They have a nice happy hour menu which is served from 3:00 to 6:00. Tappas run $3 and a select few meals $6 with sake and beer specials as well. It was a cold night so one friend and I both had the Pho. While not as good as some of our other favorite Pho joints, the broth was tasty and the portion was huge. The meat is sliced a bit too thick IMO but it was tender and tasty. The drunken noodles were also really tasty. This is a solid place for a relaxed meal with a nice atmosphere. I miss former Asian restaurant, Min Min, and gave this new resident a try on Saturday night. It wasn't very crowded... but it will be soon. The atmosphere is nicer than Min Min, but I could have done without the New Age Techno music on loop. The food was great and generously prepared (i.e., they don't skimp on the goodies). Now, how do I say this without being pejorative...? The folks that greet and wait on you speak very clear English. I do not insinuate any stereotypes, but the folks at Min Min knew me, knew what I was going to order, and yet we still had communication problems. The service is great, they are always busy, literally always, so calm down to those that feel they didn't get their water refilled fast enough. I am constantly in search of awesome Chinese delivery and was very excited when I came across Karma in my search! First, they have a huge menu with tons of vegetarian options, which is pretty rare! Second, they have a ton of variety- interesting tapas, basic Chinese fare (some with interesting flavor combinations), tons of soups, curry and pho! It took me 20 min. to narrow down what we ordered! And they are open until 11 on Friday and Saturday night! We decided on the pineapple cheese won tons, veggie egg rolls, veggie lo mein and veggie and tofu pho. The egg rolls were good, a little bland, but had an interesting texture. The won tons were awesome! They are triangles instead of the typical four-prong purse type. There wasn't a ton of filling, but they were so yummy- the pineapple and cheese flavors were perfect together! And the pineapple dipping sauce (with mint, I think) was delicious- a perfect compliment! I had never had pho before as most places don't have a vegetarian base, so I was really looking forward to it! It came sort of as a build it yourself- there was the broth in one container, the noodles, tofu and veggies in another and the jalapeños, basil and lime in a little bag. It was good! The broth was a little spicy and had a nice, subtle flavor and all of the veggies were really fresh. I enjoyed it and it was perfect for the cold I have been nursing! The lo mein was good too- the veggies were crisp, which is rare, but really good! This place location is golden, décor is pretty cool, Asia all over nothing in specific, giant lighted Buddha's head next to Sanrio's Hello Kitty water dispenser, both sitting on the bar counter, few Chinese lanterns, pretty interesting place. Food: *Thai Spring roll - "Not fried. Served in chilled delicate rice paper rolled with rice noodles, mints, lettuce and bean sprouts." Sounds more interesting than what it actually is... *Green Curry - "Historically known as the Queen of all Curries. Spicy green curry, sweet basil, eggplants, Green beans, bell peppers, zucchini, broccoli bamboo shoots and coconut milk." Depressing, presentation was cool but taste was bland; I could taste the Mae Ploy green curry paste, and instead of coconut milk they used corn starch as a thickening agent, plus lots of added sugar. * Drunken Noodles - "Soft wide rice noodles and egg wok tossed with basil, jalapeno, bean sprouts, ginger and baby bok choy." This was cooked perfectly, very good. Overall, considering the location and décor, this place is okay. The folks who created Wokano Asian Bistro on Ogden have moved their excellent restaurant and changed the name to Karma Asian Fusion Cuisine. If you were ever at the Ogden location, you'll recognize the decor here at the new location. And you'll definitely recognize the food. They have a way of combining the savory, sweet, and spicy flavors of Asian food in the most delicious ways. Recently I had their Sesame Tofu and I can't imagine a better combination of flavors - the breading is puffy and light, the sauce complex with the light sweetness balanced by a very subtle heat, the tofu just the right texture. My favorite dish here is the Spicy Basil Tofu - again, the ingredients come together in an explosion of flavor, but there is never one overwhelming note. This is the best Asian restaurant in central Denver, bar none, and it's not just the food, it's the people. They really care about what they're doing and about their customers, and it really shows. They're working on getting their liquor license (the reason they moved away from their former location) and I'm pulling for them to hold their own against the pretenders across Broadway from them. read more

It's taken me some weeks to write this review, but I had a great meal here with some company around the 4th of July weekend. We had just come down the street from the Mayan and walked into Karma at about 5:55. We took a booth near the back of the place and were offered our menus -- the unfortunate thing was that Happy Hour and their tasty appetizers ran from 3-6. However, the waiter wanted us to be happy customers, so he let us order right at 6pm or perhaps a few minutes after. Karma gets major points just for doing that -- not every restaurant out there cares like that and will sometimes cut you off at the knees 5 mins before happy hour ends. So that was a great sign of things to come. I was trying to cut back some budgetwise so I ordered the chicken satay as a tapas, which brought back 3 chicken skewers that were tender, and peanut sauce that was fairly thick and delectable; and then a $6 chicken pad thai off the menu. My companions and I sampled each other's dishes; I also sampled the sesame tofu (which was crispy, light and delicious; but I wish it had absorbed more of the sauce) and some chicken lettuce wraps -- they do it better than PF Changs, and more cheaply. I only got through about half of my pad thai order; it's a pretty hefty order, and you can't go wrong for $6 at all. I have taken various pics of the dishes we had and also of the place's decor, which is somewhat darkened and cool inside (bliss on a hot summer day) and will try and get them uploaded this week, but the decor is cheerful and unique, including the large glowing Buddha lamp. About half the tables were filled at 6pm, which is a good sign this place has a loyal following - or good word of mouth. read more

I'm pretty picky about thai/chinese food..and this was the best I've had in Denver in my 5 years of living here! Just sad it's taken me 5 years to discover this place! We started off with a bottle of wine and the spicy edamame. Yowsers! The spicy edamame is the bomb. Loved it! The wine was fine - my only complaint was that they (presumably) cut the foil and took out the cork behind the bar, so when they brought the bottle over, it was already open. That's fine..it just made my friend suspect they were refilling a bottle with less expensive wine. Which I doubt they were doing, but still..just wait until you get to the table open the bottle so that I don't have to listen to my friend's paranoid theories. Anyhoo..I ordered the Thai siracha stirfry with tofu. It was GOOD! Spicy, but not overwhelmingly so, the tofu was perfectly crispy but not too greasy, and tons of delicious veggies like cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, onion, and cabbage. Really good, filling meal. My friends ordered the kung pao tofu (good, but not as flavorful as mine), the volcano bowl with shrimp (not spicy enougn, a little too sweet), and the tofu pho (HUGE! And yum). It was a good meal - and the menu is so big and veggie friendly that I need to go back soon to try other things. I work in this neighborhood and have eaten almost everywhere and for some reason always avoided this place. I don't know why, perhaps because Spicy Basil is closer. Who knows. Anyways, I finally made the walk over and was pleasantly surprised to find Pho on the menu. Had I know Pho was on the menu I would have been eating here for a long time before this. I eat Pho a lot - at least once a week. Most places do not live up to my standards and I was under the assumption that this place wouldn't either. But I had to go for it - close to work and my favorite dish. If they get it right I will be back A LOT. They got it right. Loved it. Best in Denver? No. 2nd best in Denver? No. Go to Pho Duy on S Federal if you want the best. But this could squeeze into my top 10 list for sure. It was unique. There was one spice in there that I just could not get a handle on that I loved. My colleague ordered a soup dish called Jaam - Bong. Also outstanding. The decor does get your attention with it's exotic charm. I did have to peak my head into the kitchen to let the staff know that some one was there to place an order. I was limited for time on a lunch break. I did have to repeat the glance into the kitchen at least a couple more times to get the attention of the waiter, who was beyond friendly, and had a great personality. Just not in the dining room much during my visit. Maybe he had important side work, prepping something fit for a king for all I know. They certainly met my needs in regards to the time constraints. Now I must say I loved their pad-thai ! Easily in my top five as far as pad-thai in Denver. It was a wee bit spicy as I requested and it didn't overpower that elegant savory sauce. Also the presentation was so nice that I had to pinch myself. Priced under ten dollars, a portion large enough to satisfy now and still have left overs for later. This place is a winner in my book ! Karma Asian - Asian Fusion Near Me - Denver, Colorado

After reading fellow Yelper's reviews of Karma Asian, I was excited to try it. I occasionally love ordering Chinese food (now Asian) as an alternative to cooking a meal or going out every night. My neighborhood has a plethora of Asian delivery options so we have lots to choose from. Some are just okay (as in everything comes from a steam tray) to really great (as in cooked fresh). I assumed that Karma Asian would be the latter. Perhaps everything is cooked fresh, but honestly I'm not impressed enough to order from there, or go there again. Here's the good, the no-so-good and the down-right-awful. Good: The Beef Lo Mein is very flavorful with lots of lo mein noodles. The chicken mixture in the Lettuce Wraps is delicious as is the dipping sauce (just the right amount of savory and sweet). The not-so-good: There is hardly any beef in the Beef Lo Mein - it's mostly noodles. The Chicken Lettuce Wraps come with pickled ginger and thinly sliced red cabbage - a tasty garnish however there is way to much of it. They skimp on chicken and include too much of the ginger/cabbage. The Pot Stickers taste okay but are soggy - not even the least be crispy. The pork filling is pretty tasteless. The down-right-awful: The dark green-leaf lettuce provided with the lettuce wraps is limp and soggy and quite honestly, disgusting. Why they didn't include crisp iceberg lettuce as most places do is beyond me. We ended up eating the chicken by itself, without the "wrap." Perhaps the food is better if you eat it there but unfortunately it's unlikely I'll every find out. read more

Just came back from Karma, where I ate with my father. While I've stopped there during happy hour for some sake, I had not yet tried the food there until tonight. My father ordered pad thai with tofu, and I ordered Pho with beef. The Pad Thai was rich and creamy, and, while it was not as spicy as I usually like, the tofu was perfectly cooked, crispy and firm on the outside and creamy on the inside. My Pho was, well, pho. Seriously, it's hard to screw up Pho. The broth did seem to lack something from Vietnamese joints, but "different" doesn't necessarily mean bad. I ate until I could no more and took home leftovers. For dessert we had the sesame balls. Hollowed balls fo dough, filled with a mildly sweet bean curd, flash fried, rolled in sesame seeds and decorated with chocolate sauce. On of the most original dessert ideas I have seen, it was executed very well. My only complaint is that our food took slightly longer than appropriate to get out. That being said, they brought out the food just in time, and everybody else in the restaurant was served quickly, so I do not believe that this is a regular or endemic problem read more

Karma is working hard to look like it's a cut above, but the food falls short. We tried Karma's takeout specifically because I wanted better Chinese than you get from the places that slip their menus under your door. In price and atmosphere, Karma promises that, but I was left disappointed. My big gripe here is that my boyfriend ordered a dish advertised as chicken and mixed vegetables and I ordered flank steak with greens. The dishes came with exactly the same pre-cut vegetable mix -- carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, etc. Definitely doesn't count as greens. This to me is THE calling card of mediocre Chinese food: if they don't think I care enough to want what I ordered, I doubt they're putting much care into their food. I will say that when they mark a dish as spicy, they are not fooling around. I had to give up on my beer and pour a glass of milk halfway through. Otherwise, the dishes were highly average, ditto the crab wontons and egg rolls. and honestly, if you can get as good a meal for half the price by digging that delivery menu of out of your junk drawer, why wouldn't you? read more

I order take out from this joint every once in a while. The food is really good and filled with a lot of tasty vegetables. I also appreciate that they gladly omit the dreaded mushroom from my dish without giving me grief about it. = ) Caitlin and I have also dined in and had their pho. Which is quite a treat! After searching Yelp for quite a bit, trying to find someone that would deliver a tasty sounding soup to me, I decided on Karma. I called, and I gotta admit, I was little bit nonplussed when they picked up the phone and didn't really identify themselves. Soon, I realized that I was speaking to someone for whom English is a second language, and not a strong one. This made ordering over the phone a little difficult, and the lack of identification when I called made me leery of giving them my phone number. ...But screw it, I was hungry. I ordered Thai Hot and Sour Soup, as well as Smoked Salmon Cheese Wontons and Drunken Noodles with Chicken. Don't judge me, I told you I was hungry. The delivery guy showed up in about 30 minutes (and I'd been quoted 45, sweet!) and called my cell so I could come down to get it, as per my instructions. His English was also not so good, but when I came down he realized with obvious relief that he was in the right place and walked up to the door (I had the same relief to discover I had called the restaurant and not given my credit card number to a wrong number) . Handed over the food, said something nice about my enjoying dinner (it was only 1:30, but his comment let me pretend I wasn't being a fatty), and we went our separate ways. Okay, so first the Wontons. If you order those with friends, cram 'em all in your mouth at once so those other biotches don't get any. Mutter through your wad of food something about saving them from food poisoning before you pour the sauce in after. Seriously, I loved those things. I was gonna save half for later like I did with the other dishes, but alas, my gut overwhelmed me. The smokiness of the salmon is even better than crab is in the usual version - not to mention you usually get Krab instead. The dipping sauce, while a surprising green color, has a great pineapple tartness to balance out the richness of the cream cheese. The Thai Hot and Sour Soup was very tasty, but I did find myself disappointed by the very high ratio of broth to other stuff. I ended up having to fish out the two shrimp and cut them up so I could have some in every bite, but once I did that it was pretty tasty, and the heat (of both kinds) warmed me right up, like hugging a naked sweaty fireman. The Drunken Noodles at first seemed disappointing, but as I ate them the subtlety of their flavor came out to play. Not as bold as either of the first two dishes, but still delicious. Their one flaw was the one shared by the soup shrimp, in that all of the vegetables .were in huge pieces that, despite being a quarter Chinese and thus good with chopsticks (alas, my crane kick sucks), I couldn't have cut up with those handy implements, since they were the usual delivery Cheapascrap(tm) version. All in all, good stuff, and I'll be taking my friends there in the future, and even my more-Asian-than-thou Mom when she comes to visit! read more

Sooo.... Good!!! I ordered the jaam-bong over the phone for delivery and I told the man taking my order that I had been in there with some friends a week or two earlier and we all had jaam-bong and the man remembered us and where we sat. (we weren't disruptive or anything like that) Good memory but GREAT food!!! I just can't get enough of that stuff. Perfect level of spicyness, very generous w/ the seafod, huge scallops, and great noodles! Delivery comes in a very reasonable time and the staff is very friendly. Solidly delicious. I've gotten takeout from them several times, but actually dined at the location yesterday. Those pineapple wonton thingies were the BOMB! I don't know what kind of dipping sauce they come with, but they're deliciously unhealthy and definitely one of those tastes that you'll find yourself wanting to tear into at random times. I had some phenomenal spicy prawns, which could have been HORRIBLE if they had been goopy, but were perfectly crispy, with a sauce that neither overpowered nor under-delivered. I enjoyed my friend's Dan Dan noodles- the tofu was prepared very nicely and have just enough texture to satisfy. The waitstaff were very pleasant and attentive- we never had to wait for water, and they were very prompt with our orders. The interior decoration is hella cool, and I'd love to come back here at night for some of their drinks. As it was we ended up just having some sake... which was still delicious! They've got some great-looking stuff on the menu, so I'll be back to try more. read more

Not a good choice for general tso's chicken. It's about the only thing I get at Chinese food restaurants so I consider my barometer for general tso's finely tuned. The rice was too wet and the chicken was REALLY bland and partially had a smoky taste that was actually more unpleasantly charred. This was one of the only times I've regretted ordering general tso's. read more

We went there for the first time last night (Wednesday). Being a party of 3 people, we ordered a couple appetizers and main entrees. The potsticker and wonton appetizers were mediocre. We ordered the 'Bang bang chicken and shrimp' & 'DanDan Noodles'. Entrees took a long time to arrive and both were luke-warm. Food was so disappointing and sub-par. The noodles were in fact something more close to spaghetti. The 'bang bang chicken and shrimp' was bland and lacked any real flavors. They really dull the flavors to create this fusion. The service was just as poor and experience was negative. Will not return. Edit: to add onto, the food was undercooked and made my friends and I sick. read more
