We ordered the Lo Mein with Shrimp & Chicken, Salt & Pepper Shrimp, Hot & Sour Soup, Egg Drop Soup, Shu Mai, and Sweet Rice Shu Mai. Every dish was packed with flavor and made for a truly satisfying meal. My personal favorites were the Hot & Sour Soup and the Salt & Pepper Shrimp, but everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed what they ordered. As expected, Nana's didn't disappoint. Nana's Dim Sum & Dumplings was one of the highlights of our trip to the RiNo district. The location is awsome and really easy to walk to if you're already exploring the area. The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable, and helped answer a few questions we had about different dishes. We had about a 20 minute wait for our table, so we grabbed a couple cocktails at the bar first. I had the Harmony in Beijing and my girlfriend had the Oolong Old Fashion. Both were really refreshing and a great way to start dinner. One thing we really liked was the ordering style. Once you're seated, you just keep picking out small plates you want to try, just like a lot of dumpling shops in China and Japan. It honestly brought back memories from my trips over there. The atmosphere and decor was beautiful and felt authentic without trying too hard. Our favorites were the Spicy Cucumber Salad, Spicy Green Beans, Beef & Vermicelli Dumplings, Hot Sea Pork and Shrimp Dumplings, Pork & Chive Dumplings, and the Crab Rangoons. Everything was fresh and came out pretty quick. We also ordered the Chicken Lo Mein, but I only had one bite because we bought it to give to a homeless woman we met at the park near where we were staying. The biggest downside is the price. It's very, very expensive for what you get. Dumplings that were basically the same size and quality as ones I ate all over Japan for $4-$7 were over $14 here. A pretty small plate of stir fried green beans being around $20 was kinda hard to justify. The only dishes we really didn't care for were the Chinese Style Broccoli, which was pretty plain and lacked flavor, and the Pork & Mushroom Dumplings. They tasted good, but they were dry enough that I probably wouldn't order them again. Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner and would definitely come back, but probably only for a special occasion. Since they're known for their dumplings, we naturally had to order a few varieties. The pork and mushroom dumplings were rich and deeply savory, but the real standout was the chicken and corn, absolutely packed with flavor and perfectly executed. In town visiting a friend and she recommended we try this place as it's one of her favorite spots. We showed up around 5:30ish on New Year's Eve and were told it would be about a 20 minute wait. We decided to go next door to get a drink and I think the table was ready even before the 20 minutes which was nice. When we got back to the restaurant we were immediately sat. I love the concept of marking off what you want on the menu. The servers come around often if you want to order more or need anything else. The food comes out sort of slowly, which is nice cause the tables are sort of small (in a 2 person situation) so it's hard to fit everything at once or try everything at once. Juicy and tender and such good flavor 3. chicken lo mein: While the color of the dish was not appealing, it actually tasted quite nice. I called ahead and was seated immediately without waiting at this location on a Sunday night. The parking lot is huge too unlike the other location which was an 1-1.5 hr wait. For food, I got Xiao long bao 4/5 were alright. They weren't too unique like other ones I had such as DTF or Paradise Dynasty. The shell is not too thick. Vegetable egg rolls 5/5 though like Panda Express. They were crispy and I have no complaint. Green beans 5/5 were so delicious with great flavor, not too spicy. The green beans were crunchy too. Truffle xiao long bao 3/5. My friend liked it but I couldn't taste the truffle. I had more truffle flavored xiao long bao from Costco. Red sea chili wonton 5/5. The sauce was perfect for these pork and shrimp wontons. Chicken and corn pan fried dumplings 5/5 were great too. I love the corn inside fillings. Beef chili 3/5 was so spicy. First time to this location, but have been to their outpost in Aurora a few times. Definitely a different vibe, with loud techno music and high noise levels from the crowd. Service was quick to take the order, refill water and clear out empty plates/steamer baskest. The dishes coming out of the kitchen was at a more erratic pace, but it's all about the food. Mapo tofu was good, with a light slick of chili oil. The flavors were spot on with little chunks of fermented salted broad beans. The heat was also moderate, but it did have a kick as you were eating it. That signature mala numbing spiciness started building, but not hot enough for my palate. Green beans were also nice and tender. Sometimes when they come out the fryer, the skin can be a little leathery, but wasn't present here. BBQ Buns were very soft and tender, loaded with BBQ pork. The shao mai had a nice bouncy texture and cooked well. Shrimp Lo Mein had the flavors of the Chinese American classic, it looks like the noodles were hand made too. Only miss was the shrimp dumplings. They were too close to each other and they stuck together. The wrapper was also overcooked, but somehow the shrimp was not. Nearly impossible to pickup with chopsticks, because the wrapped just fell apart, even with a delicate touch. Worth a stop and probably tastiest Chinese food in the neighborhood. It was getting crowded and there was a wait by the time we left. However it was Denver restaurant week, so not sure how it usually is during the week. read more

Alert to all dumpling lovers! Did you know Nana's offers a dumpling making class?! It is just as magical as it sounds. They teach you how to create their pork and chive dumplings and in different shapes. P.S. I have a whole new appreciation for the ladies making dumplings in the back. It took me nearly 30 minutes to make the 8 dumplings in the pictures. The class was awesome. After the class they cook your dumplings for you and you get to enjoy your creations! The interior is decked out in red and gold, this spot definitely reads more as a dinner restaurant. I came here with two friends on Saturday at 5:30 pm and was glad we didn't have to wait, after reading reviews about long wait times. We were seated at a high table in the bar area, which ended up being a little tight with all the dishes we got. There is a dim sum menu where you mark the quantity you want and scan a QR code for the menu with pictures and prices. There is also an allergy menu on that version of the menu, which I didn't see on their regular website. We ordered many dishes to try: -Spicy cucumber salad ($10) - so crisp and refreshing, one of my favorites! -Szechuan chicken ($14) - crispy with some spice, but a little greasy -Beef pancake roll ($16) - really good but could've had more beef -Stir fried green beans ($20) - the price on this is insane. They're good but a bit too salty for my taste. -Shu mai ($8) - classic -Fried sesame balls ($8) - these are mini balls with red bean filling, also on of my favorites -Pan fried dumpling roulette ($17) - delicious but I'm not sure which one I ate -Xiao long soup buns ($13) - the broth was hot and flavorful, one of the best I've had around the area It was easy to over order here since everything sounded so good. Wow - this place has it all! The vibe as soon as you walk in is fun and well decorated, with Chinese motifs throughout. We were quoted 45 minutes to an hour for the wait (around 8:15 on a Friday), but we ended up only waiting about ten minutes before our table was ready. Once we were sat, our server Matt was attentive and took our drink order quickly. I got the Lychee Dynasty (essentially a Lychee paloma) which was lovely - it came with a cute flower garnish, which made for an even more Instagram-worthy date. Now for the food - absolutely unreal. I honestly thought it was really good. They had great happy hour prices and the dumplings were all delicious and the dipping sauces were super good. My friend got a drink that was the bartenders choice for the day and it was good but kind of strong for my tastes. My wife had the Geisha (cocktail) and I had the a beer. We went during Happy Hour and the dumplings were 50% off and they tasted amazing! We're happily working our way through this entire menu. I haven't come across anything I don't like yet. And options like the dumpling roulette allow you to try several things in one dish, which makes me very, very happy. This is also one of the places where the more people you are dining with, the better your experience will be, IMO. And that's not the case everywhere. Having a big table allows you to nosh on a large variety of dishes without a huge commitment to any one thing. (That being said, I love the bar here. So if you are a single or couple. That's a great option to snag a seat on a busy night.) So explore and go wild. I don't think you'll be disappointed. If you are, feel free to tell me I was wrong. The tempura shrimp are one of my absolute faves. They are wrapped in this lacey fried heaven of a wrapping that can't be beat. THE BIG: There's a couple of Nana's in the Denver metro area, however we went to the one in Highland Park. Very ornate decorations inside that resemble chinese heritage. Street parking only. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here with the wife and friends after playing pickleball for two hours and we were starving and in the mood for dumplings. We got seated quick and service is also just as fast. For food, we got the Spicy wontons, spicy shrimp dumplings, soup dumplings, green beans, and egg lava bao. The spicy wontons were great and the soup dumplings had so much flavor in them. The egg lava bao was alright. I was expecting more molten egg but it seemed like it wasn't hot enough and it resembled more of a bean paste.
