So I was really excited for this place because I saw all the awesome reviews on yelp. I booked a massage for 90 minutes along with the body detox for 15 minutes. So into the massage. It was seriously the worst massage I've gotten in my life. It was also the most painful massage I've ever received. The women who was massaging me constantly would dig into my back and shoulder blades, going deeper ever time. I was silently screaming while I was face down in the massage table. She didn't ask me how the pressure was during the massage at all either. Another issue I had was my 90 minute massage was only 60 minutes....I was confused on why it was cut short but I'm honestly glad it was. My back was sore going in and coming out that massage I felt more pain in my back. One more thing, the ladies doing the massage were constantly talking. Is it me or during a massage it's supposed to be quiet and peaceful. The body detox now. I wouldn't recommend it. You may like it but it's 15 minutes of your feet soaking in water while you lay on your back. It was honestly a little awkward because your feet dangle off the table into a bucket where they cram your feet. It was slightly uncomfortable. Before I booked an appointment I called and asked about the Swedish massage with medium pressure. I asked if the massage therapist would use her hands NOT her arm for the pressure. The receptionist assured me that she would use her hands and not her arms. Not true. She did start out with her hands/fingers on my shoulders and upper spine. That's it. Then came the arm and swishing hand motion with no pressure. I told the receptionist after it was over what happened. She said she was not the receptionist earlier and that she would let her know not to tell people that they don't use arms. She said it was a Chinese massage and they all use their arms. My massage therapists are always sweet and everyone has their own style but they are all really good, I've been to about 3 or 4 different female massage therapists. I purchased a Groupon for a facial and ended up seeing Cindy. I was in a bit of a cranky mood bcs I hadn't found the place right away and it ate into my facial time. Well it didn't deter Cindy at all. She was so sweet and caring and by the end of the appointment, I was happy to have stuck around for the appt and even happier that I've met her. Since then, I see her every few weeks and my skin hasn't looked better. Her caring persona and cheerful demeanor make my appointment that more relaxing. I'm happy to have visited the Spa. I was very pleased with my last two visits at Karma Spa. I have also booked services for my husband and he was pleased. It's not high end, but I wouldn't have gone if it was something as snooty as that. I have previously had the Prenatal Massage service and now the Deep Tissue Massages and I've left relaxed and feeling much better than when I entered. I don't remember who my female providers were, but Owen and just recently Jack are amazing at the Deep Tissue. Best massage I've ever had! It was mine and my husbands first time there and we decided to get a couples massage! The facility was serene and clean and front staff were very friendly! The room was private with 2 massage tables and was very relaxing! Can't speak highly enough about our massage professionals! Owen was the absolute best! I pulled a muscle in my shoulder this week and was in a ton of pain!! My husband called Karma this afternoon and the receptionist was so friendly and was able to get us both in within the next hour! Unfortunately I don't remember the names of our massage therapists but they were both AMAZING!! My lady focused on my problem area in my shoulder and also made It very comfortable and relaxing. The environment is very clean and they have a nice waiting room before you go into the massage rooms. I have had my share of massages and used to work at a chiropractic office that had massage therapy so I've experienced quality massage and Karma is definitely one of those!! Kept asking "are you okay" which was After painful instead of during, and asked so many times (50+ times in an hour?) the massage was not relaxing at all. My whole body is sore. Neck, shoulders, arms, hands, legs, thighs, feet, everything! I got an hour full body, deep massage. It was not DEEP at all. It honestly just felt like the lady was rubbing me with lotion and just here and there she would go deep but was not enough to release any kind of tension. The pressure was close to none. Only massage she did well was my neck but other then that I feel exactly the same. She was kind to me so I tipped her, but will not be coming back. Very disappointed for $60 plus tip. I had an amazing time at Karma Spa when I had both a luxurious facial and afterwards an hour massage. I was surprised how decadent the facial was with all of its layers of cream and polish and even massage. My skin glowed afterwards and the lines of stress has diminished from my face. The masseuse was extremely caring and sensitive to the state of my body. She worked my knots just the right about to listen them slowly instead of too much pressure at once. By the time my visit was over I felt like I had a vacation. Rested I drive home and immediately had an excellent night of sleep. Highly recommended and gorgeously designed. Came here for a couples massage today at 11. Made the appointment the night before online so that was super convenient. Checked us in no problem and didn't wait very long. The masseuses were very nice, calming and professional. Asked us periodically in the massage if we were okay and how the pressure was. Both my boyfriend and I thought that they were able to pay attention to specific spots where we had extra tension which was also nice of them. To be totally honest I was hesitant to come here after reading some negative reviews about the service and the professionalism of the masseuses, but was pleasantly surprised in my experience. My fiancé and I went for a couples massage as we both wanted to de stress. While the entrance is nice the ambiance lacked. The waiting room we were seated was noisy and we were able to hear the reception area. Phone ringing and conversations. The waiting room was the area that was meant for quietness and preparing for the massage. Once on the room the room was bright with no candles or feeling of relaxation. No scents or oils that gets you on the relax mood. Once the massage started there was no way to fully get in the relaxation mode as we could hear the next room conversation as well as receptionist convo. Overall the massage was good but It could use more quietness and use of relaxing oils or lotions that put one in a relaxing mode. LADIES, PLEASE READ: I will NEVER come here again! Therapists are NOT licensed or even trained massage therapists and mine was extremely unprofessional as HE kept touching me with his groin. I had a free afternoon without my husband and kids and thought I'd treat myself to a massage. I loved how easy it was to choose an appointment using their website. So convenient! I was shocked I was able to get an appointment within the hour and they were also running a special for $39 for new customers. I read some reviews online and thought nothing was bad enough to deter me. The spa itself is very clean, tastefully decorated, and relaxing. The young woman behind the counter was welcoming. I didn't mind having a male masseuse when she kindly asked me. PETER was assigned to me and kindly walked me back. Everything was going well (nothing spectacular and certainly not like any massages I've received before from professionals) until half way through the session, I started to notice something firm-ish (ugh) rhythmically touching my hand as I laid face down on the table with my hands up over the covers. I'm used to the masseuses stomachs or what have you bumping into my as they massage my back so I didn't think too much about it. .... until it kept happening and I started thinking about what it was (EEEEK!). HE WAS PRESSING HIS GROIN AGAINST MY HAND!! In desperation to try to enjoy my massage, I kept telling myself it was a roll of quarters or something in his pocket. I know this sounds funny and now that it's over I can laugh about it. I kept inching my hand away and closer to my sides but the roll of quarters was persistent and kept following my hand! I finally just shoved my arms underneath my body and in very broken english, Peter asked if I was ok. I told him I don't like my hands being touched and I think he got the idea because the roll of quarters went away. I was so upset and just wanted to leave I didn't bother telling the person at the front desk. Mostly because I felt icky and wanted out and they had a waiting room full of people and I didn't want to make a scene. However, when I brought up my complaints afterwards, I got radio silence from the company. I also noticed all of their masseuse are asian and speak very little english. This place is NOT where you go to get a professional massage from a LICENSED therapist like Massage Envy or Elements Massage. It's basically getting a massage from the nail salon. Eva was so kind and strong. She took care of me every step of the way. I didn't know what to expect with the Vichy shower, but there was something special about it. If you're not comfortable with someone seeing you nakey then I don't recommend it for you. The sauna isn't an infrared but very clean and relaxing. Quick but a good sweat is a good sweat. The detox foot bath was cool! You learn what you detox by the color of the water. Place was super clean and beautifully decorated. The art was dope! Highly recommend the VP Package. It is an amazing place--beautiful rooms, lovely waiting area, clean, great music and offers an endless array of spa treatments. And, so reasonably priced that you can treat yourself to several. I always get the President's package that lasts for 2.5 hours and is pure indulgence for under $100. This year I discovered Amanda, an extraordinary massage therapist who has the greatest hands and most nurturing manner. She is smart, sweet and took such good care of my body that I went back three times. My husband loves this place , too, and highly recommends Yoyo. I freaking love this place. My husband and I got a 90 minute couples massage while on vacation for spring break, and it was delightful. The masseuses were professional and took adjustment directions well. They were polite and respectful. My masseuse worked out bunch of knots in my upper back as a result of a bunch of awkward positions I get into while nursing my baby. I am so grateful. This is my second time to karma spa. Both times my wife and I have gotten the presidents package and both times have been great. Not to discount any of the other reviewers, but so far so good. The massages themselves, I'd have to rate at 3.5 states, and the vischy shower I can take it or leave it, but the price? The price is what takes this to 5 star level. Sure, a lot of the masseuses may not have a ton of experience, but I've never been anywhere else that gives you a descent massage, with no awkward upsell, for the price they offer.
