I spoke with two different people to setup facials for my daughter and me. I also told them that it was for our birthday. We were born on the same day and always spend the day together. The second conversation was to "confirm" our appointment. I also wanted to add a certain type of massage. They said that would definitely book our facials and call the manager about the massages and get back to me. They never got to me about the massages. I wasn't worried about it because at least I knew that the facials were booked. We arrive for our birthday facials and they never booked it. They apologized but, that doesn't really cut it. How many people do I need to speak with to actually get the appointment scheduled? It reminds me of the light bulb joke. How many xxx does it take to screw in a light bulb! My wife and I went for a day of relaxation and didn't live up to our expectations. Greeting as we walked in was good but that was about it. But as for the massage itself, it was a horrible experience. The massage therapists were treating our session as their social hour. They gossiped for at least 30 minutes and the massage felt half fast and lazy. "Full body massage" was more like a poor back massage and oil rub on the rest. I mentioned it to the front desk when it came time to pay and she couldn't care less. We were going to schedule another day for the following month but now we are searching for a new spa. My boyfriend surprised me with a spa evening here after work on Friday. When you walk in, you immediately feel calm and relaxed. They have a wonderful little waterfall and the decor is really cool too! The receptionist was super helpful and sweet. I had Cindy for my session and she was AMAZING! She doesn't speak English that much but we were still able to communicate. I had no idea what I was doing since this was my first spa session ever so she was so patient and kind to me. The massage itself was phenomenal. She is incredibly strong! She got out all the knots in my back and was so gentle yet firm. The sauna was nice and relaxing too. I then got the Asian bath which I didn't know what it was. It was a bath/scrub and it felt like heaven! She bathed me and scrubbed me down with a nice sugar scrub. I felt like royalty! I have been coming to Karma Relaxation for some time now. A girlfriend of mine had gone and received a facial, something I never really thought about getting done at Karma. She gave rave reviews. Found a deal on Groupon and thought, what the heck. Well, my first appt was with Crystal. She saved my life from this horrible creature that appeared on my face two weeks prior to a friend's wedding. And of course I was in it. Anyway, Crystal worked her magic and within three days all that was left was a very tiny dot. Three months later, I decided it was time to pamper myself and book another facial. I left there dewy and refreshed. The next day after my morning shower, I couldn't believe how much my skin glowed. Love this place. Discovered it with a gift card from a friend and now I've gone a few times. They are very affordable (around 50 for an hour prenatal massage) and the spa atmosphere is great. They seem like they are always busy yet can make same day appts with no problem. Highly recommend for a special treat, for prenatal massage (I'm sure their regular ones are great too) or for regular monthly massages since they are way more affordable than Massage Envy where I use to go for this. read more

Scheduling was easy. I chose the president package. Upon checking I was asked if I wanted the vichy shower which would take 10 minutes away from my massage. It is listed to be part of the package so I thought that was odd. My therapist Yoki was nice but seemed very rushed. When transitioning from the foot detox she had no regard for me as client there to relax. She was banging around tubs and even threw the laminated detox color chart on my torso while she moving things around. My eyes are covered and I am laying there in a vulnerable position. I am thinking what the world did she just throw on me. This chart is not small by the way. She moved me to another room for the full body massage and threw the blanket on the ground. I was hardly draped threw the session. At one point I almost left as I was so uncomfortable with the lack of draping. I expressed my discontent to the front and they were far from concerned. I should mention I brought my entire office with me and paid for over 9 people. I would have thought they would be more concerned than they were. I have not been back and will not. read more

I made my first appointment for the "First Lady Package". I had read the reviews and wondered about a few of the comments and hoped I would not be disappointed. I can honestly say the whole 2 1/2-hour treatment exceeded my expectations. The check in at the front desk was smooth and fast with only one form to fill out. What pressure you like and if you would prefer a male or female for your treatment was asked beforehand also which was great. Friendly and polite staff was super nice to have when you first walk in. Cindy was my masseuse and she was awesome she worked on areas diligently and my body felt amazing afterwards. She checked in with me during the massage to make sure pressure was good for me. The modesty draping technique was used so I felt totally comfortable while laying there. Patty did my facial and Vichy Shower and as far as I can remember it's the best facial I have experienced. She was gentle and thorough and did not skimp on products for my facial. Love this place It's reasonably priced enough to where you can afford to go regularly and they don't make you sign up for memberships you may or may not use and still be charged for. I was invited back by Jessika to try another massage and make up for my last experience. It was nice they were able to schedule an appointment a day in advance considering it's the weekend. When I arrived, I was welcomed and greeted by Christina. She was pleasant and promptly checked me in. She asked me how I would like my massage and what areas to focus on. I sat in the waiting room for a couple of minutes until my therapist, Yoki arrived. Yoki was friendly and welcoming. She gave me a 90 minute massage. She did a great job at targeting all the areas that needed work. She made sure during her time that the pressure felt okay. I'm still a little sore, but the good kind from her working out all my knots. This experience was a lot better and makes up for last time. I'm guessing it was an isolated incident. The staff was friendly, courteous and very helpful. The facilty was neat, clean and inviting. I was even able to have my elderly mom sit in the very comfortable waiting room while I got my massage. I was here with my mother the other day and it was our first time. The place was very well kept and very clean which was a plus! We both did an hour massage and an one facial. First let's start with the massages. My mother enjoyed her massage, but I felt like mine was a bit weak and she was slacking. I was not impress with it. I know when I enjoy my massages I feel relaxed, enough to knock me out. Well I was awake the whole time. Next was the facial and it was good! Cindy did a great job I enjoyed my facial however she was talking the whole time and I just wanted to relax. Her massages was amazing though! It was 100 times better than my actual massage. The Hillcrest location is nice, clean and big but this location was modern, sleek and HUGE. They have a tranquility room for you to relax in while you wait for your Therapist which was a nice change and the Massage was devine. I've been going to Karma Relaxation Spa in Hillcrest for years now ever since they opened. Every visit has been rejuvenating, especially after a grueling workout or just one of those days when you need to loosen up. The packages they offer are a great bargain and the service exceptional - well qualified therapists, a great ambience and all round friendly staff. Anyway, moving on from the original location - when I heard that they were opening another branch in North County I made a note to check it out. After a weekend of home repairs spent mostly on my back under a bathroom sink, I figured I'd pay them a visit. As I pulled into the shopping plaza I saw the familiar Karma logo, went in - and as they say about first impressions, it looked like they had exceeded themselves in the design of the new place. Spacious, chic decor (the dragon on the wall and the hallway decorations just created this really cool vibe), plenty of rooms with mellow lighting. And finally the actual massage - everything I had already experienced at the first location. The masseuse was skilled and helped get those knots out of my entire back.
