This place is just ok. I consider myself a massage connoisseur. Been getting them for years and have experienced the full gambit from high end spas, cruise ships, in-home massage and then Karma Spa. The pros to this place are the prices and the availability. You can almost always get an appt same day. The cons are that the therapists I have had here all do the same "style" massage. Deep tissue consists of hard pressure using elbows and forearms (this is not an actual deep tissue massage). I've never had one actually work out the knots in my back or actually put fingertips to work. The other type of massage mixed in is just a "fluff and buff" shiatsu style where they just rub you down. No pressure at all. None of their therapists that I've had use any proper massage technique (to echo some of the other reviews) and you are pretty much stuck with whoever you get. But it's wash rinse repeat with every therapist. That's not to say it isn't worth it for the cheap prices. Also the therapists do not speak good English at all so if you need to communicate anything beyond "ok" or "medium pressure" in English you're SOL. Finally, my last massage here was supposed to be 90 minutes. She started at 2:15 and cut me loose at 3:35. Not 90 minutes. . Not cool. read more

Wish I lived closer! I was visiting family and asked for a deep tissue massage with a male massage therapist. I got RICHARD and he was not only amazing but I couldn't believe he honored my request of being very hard. RICHARD removed so many unexpected knots and really got me moving. Although RICHARD is an older skinny Asian male individual, he isn't weak at all and I was very very impressed. As for payment, there is a discount if you paid by cash. I booked an appointment for a 90 minute Tui Na massage, wanting to try something new. Best massage ever. I haven't had a massage in months, had been working out heavily for the past few months, and was still dealing with a meniscus injury from February. Lisa was the best. It was clear she knew what she was doing, avoiding the spine and finding areas of muscle and nerve pain I didn't even know were there, and working it out! Yes, parts of the massage were painful, but I came in willing to handle that if it helped. She was very responsive to any yelps, stopped what she was doing, and used lighter methods to work out those areas. I feel like I actually experienced some healing versus just a nice backrub. Today I had an appointment at Karma Spa at 11:45 for a neck, shoulder and back massage for 60 minutes. It was absolutely wonderful! I think I saw Judy (not 100% sure if that was her name) and she did a great job and was really friendly. The girl who checked me in was also very friendly. This isn't a traditional spa in the sense that there are no scented candles, essential oils, soft music, etc., to enhance the experience during your treatment. But that's not what I'm looking for when I go to Karma. I'm looking for a no frills, super effective, elbows digging into my knots, try not to yell ouch sort of massage and Karma spa absolutely delivers! Jack is my go to for an excellent and effective, super intense accupressure. The vibe of Karma is also very clean, modern, and minimalist compared to other traditional accupressure massage places I've been to. They have a wonderful monthly membership, called VIP, that is a great deal at $65 per month for one massage a month plus discounts on any additional massages. For a same-day appointment and super reasonably priced experience, Karma Spa is A-Ok. The facilities are pretty, with mood lighting and an amazing waterfall that greets you when you arrive. The treatment rooms are sparse, but really, what all do you actually need in there with you? I did miss having a "locker room" to prepare for treatments and where I could store my things, instead of moving a small box around holding my stuff from room to room. I got the VP package, and in the future I would probably just spend the money on a longer massage. The "vichy shower" was actually laying on a wet bed and being hosed down with a shower head, not anything like other vichy showers I've had. And the detox soak and sauna time were nice, but forgettable. Cindy was my masseuse and was very thorough with her massage. I appreciate when masseuses check in on pressure. My back and shoulders were a mess and she made a very concerted effort to alleviate the tightness she found. All in all, for a last minute need for massage, I will be back. Can't beat the price and the spa is overall nice. Never again. This was by far the worst massage I have ever experienced. My bottom was exposed for 1/2 of it making me feel extremely exposed and vulnerable. The pressure was terrible and there seemed to be no rhyme or reason for what the masseuse was doing. I left feeling achy and unbalanced. There are so many lovely things to say about Karma Spa! My positive experience started straight away with a my phone call to make an appointment. I was met with kindness and detailed answers to questions. THE BEST part about this spa is that the whole staff is fully vaccinated and everyone wears a mask...properly (not the under the nose/chin BS). Given the huge surge of covid currently, my extreme hesitations were reassured with their practice of protecting patrons and their staff. All of the staff was kind and accommodating. My massage was one of the best I have had in an incredibly long time! An area on my back I had been struggling with for over a month was finally corrected after many attempts from other chiropractors and massage therapists. I was shocked, incredibly thankful and relieved! My facial was also lovely and the conversation was lively (I instigated convo-so no worries if you seek a quiet experience). I made a reservation online and put In my notes I had a spafinder gift card. I told the girl when I checked in that I had a spafinder gift card also. My massage was pretty terrible. it was more painful than relaxing, and seemed like the therapist was trying to massage my spine. The room was cold. I could hear young children yelling inside of the spa. Then upon checking out I was told that they weren't sure if they accepted spafinder gift cards, and after ten minutes of trying to figure out I just paid with my credit card so I could leave. It's OK but probably won't be coming back anytime soon. I went here after a lot of people said they do great prenatal massages. It's essentially just them having you lay on your side, no actual training has been provided to them. I went once during my 2nd trimester and it was perfect. The perfect amount of pressure and focus on my pain areas. I was excited to book again for another massage for my 3rd trimester. I asked them to just focus on two areas: lower back and shoulders. I asked for medium pressure. After 10 min of what felt like almost tickles I asked the masseuse to add more pressure. She straight up said no because I'm pregnant and in fact said she was going to apply less pressure. If my husband hadn't been the one paying for the massage I would've walked out. My friend confirmed we should go when the mailed ads showed a decently priced coupon for them. I booked two 90 minute aromatherapy massages the night before. I just needed to use my credit card to hold the appointment. It's a fee to use credit/debit cards. So bring cash to avoid the fee. We arrived 10mins early for our 10:15 appt. I was greeted by name by the receptionist. She was pleasant in reviewing appt details and explaining what expectations. She offered us the assorted tray of essential oils to pick from to be used for our session. We also had a chance to mark on a chart where we would like our masseuse to focus more time. After we completed these formalities, the receptionist disinfected the markers and oils. I was pleased to see that in practice. We were directed into a secondary room with soft music, a long sofa, that offered tea and water. The decor was clean and boasted space for 2 other patrons to join without it being over crowded. Amy was my masseuse and she was great. Took feedback for medium pressure and focused on preferred areas from the chart. The room was clean and they had covers for the headrest. When I first called to make my appointment, I requested to be matched with someone who's able to give a strong deep tissue massage, so being paired with David was perfect. David was friendly, professional, and he did a great job at loosening up my tight shoulders. The two women at the front desk were similarly welcoming, so all-around great staff. This place saves your credit card info without asking and charges you a 50% cancel fee if you cancel. The worst part is they charge you without letting you know they're going to charge you. Sure, I've had some good massages here and I've also had some very mediocre ones- you know, the ones that feel like the whole hour they're just rubbing oil on you. Anyway, I use to go there for a cheap massage once in a while until they charged me 50% without a heads up when I had to cancel. I sent an email requesting they remove my card info from their system, and the owner calls me at 8:30 am on a Sunday twice - first apologizing and then again saying I've had a prior cancellation a month ago - almost trying to justify the charges without my knowledge and saving my card info. They are always friendly at the entrance and the massage therapists are talented. Pre COVID and Post COVID, I've been to three therapists and they all used pressure well and checked in to make sure it was to my liking. I like their online booking and many combo services they have available. I recently started using the sauna since COVID and it is nice to be in the sauna alone and hot. They all wear masks making it feel safe and clean. I will go back for sure. On the down side- they are remodeling the showers and it would be nice to shower right after the sauna. Also, the rooms are not completely sound proof but it is not distracting. I will be going back to try out the different styles of massage and sauna.
