After eating across the street, we decided to check out this cute little bakery for some Cuban Coffee. We got a few coffees and some croquettes. The croquettes weren't to our liking though the coffees were great. The staff was also very friendly and the prices were very very reasonable. I bought a variety of croquetas and a Cuban empanada. The empanada was shredded chicken very stuffed and not dry at all however overly salty. The ham croquettes were having lots of ham. I did not care for spinach at all. They also were soft soggy but that's personal style, I like them crisp. Friendly and nice place inside. They have a lot! Reasonable prices for a store. I feel like I am always here all the time. This bakery for me is my favorite one in Little Havana. The food here is excellent. I always get their ham and egg croissants. For 12-13 dollars, you get your sandwich with a drink (mine is always cafe con leche) and a side of fries. The portion sizes are huge. They also have lots of baked goods. I tried their chocolate éclair and it did not disappoint. The service here is very fast. The bakery is family run. I always feel welcome when I come. Their cashier is always very attentive in getting your orders. The space is small, but you can still sit around. This is a perfect place for just a pick up and go. read more

After having lunch, we need coffee. There was a Starbucks. But no....you are in Little Havana. We walked into order cafe con leche and cortadito with little sugar. They came out exactly what we wanted. Not too sweet but enough sugar to make cafe con leche good. The place is not a really sit down restaurant so tables and chairs are limited. I also think he made up a higher than normal price for us for a gatorade of unspecified price. A friend and I got a Cuban sandwich and pan con bistec and both tasted off. They had a chemicals/cleaner/perfume taste to them, as if they had been left near cleaning products. The Cuban sandwich also only had ham and cheese. Pan con bistec had a thin cut of beef with some sad tomato slices and lettuce. My sandwich was so gross I couldn't eat it and had to throw it away. Pastelitos also weren't fresh. Even my colada tasted off, and I couldn't finish it either. I've gone here before and it was okay, but this time was so bad that I'm not going back. Solid bakery here on Calle Ocho in Miami, run by staff as sweet as the treats they offer. Walking distance up the road from Sanguich de Miami, I headed over on the hunt for a little treat to help beat this heat. I ended up with Arroz con Leche, which was good and a Pudin de Pan which was NEXT level. Delicious and sweet with fresh ingredients you can taste. Granted the size of the serving may be smaller, but that's fine because I'd rather pay less than $3 for something I'll still enjoy. This review is based off the food I had delivered from UberEats only, so never stepped inside the bakery. Every order has been delicious, and their breakfast croissant is hands down best in Miami. They use media noche type sweet bread, and it's jam packed with savory jamon and cheese. Cafe con leche is always PERFECT. Not overbearingly sweet, just the way I like. Reasonable prices too. I don't know if it's me or just me? But every time I come here, I feel like I'm dealing with the Pastelito Nazi. This lady behind the display counter is TOUGH! I swear she grunts with every order she hears. But then again, she knows that we know that her stuff is good. Glare. Stare. Flinch. You lose, and fork over chump change for the sugary treat to beat. Pastelitos de guayaba, my friend crazed about. I particularly also like the pastelito de coco. The Cuban coffee here is also good, and strong. And so we leave. The only reason I do not give a 5 star review is this red hair lady who ALWAYS is very rude, she talks back and does not have patience at all when I have questions about the menu. She needs some matters and does not like to accommodate or substitute preferences in food for options within their own menu. Whenever I see she's working I simply do not go into the place. This is the real Karmen Bakery -- the other one listed on Yelp is really Yisell Bakery (she bought it from Karmen two years ago). In any event, between the two, this is far better in pastries - less flaky, larger and they make fresh batches if you ask them to without any issue. I bought from both of them and sampled the beef pastelitos from both - Karmen wins - the pastry has more meat and as I stated earlier - less flakes. I wanted to make sure I brought the best one to a shin dig I was going to -- even though I didn't bake either, I feel a sense of responsibility to bring delicious contributions.
