I would rate Karner Mechanical a 10++ but it wouldn't allow me! Why? My oil furnace stopped working 3:30am Friday Morning. Since I don't have a contract with my oil provider (they don't provide that service) they recommended someone who they typically use. This company came out Friday before a holiday weekend and when they left around dinner time, they said it was fixed, however our heat never came back on after we got back up to temp around 8pm. When we called to have them come back at 1am Saturday Morning, they sent someone over 12 hours later and they could not fix the issue. They said they would be back again the next day with a rebuilt motor. Came back the next day, and said he couldn't fix it and will be back again the next day - New Years Day. (Mind you I have had pretty much no heat for 2 full days and outside temps are negatives. I live in an old house with minimal insulation, if any and my inside temp is now at 36 degrees). So as he left, I kindly told the person we would find someone else (at 6pm on New Years Eve it was next to near impossible but we were desperate and couldn't wait another day) and we wouldn't need him to come back tomorrow. I began calling anyone but they all turned us down - one even taunting me by telling me he lived right across the street, had all the supplies and motors etc on his truck, but since I didn't buy oil from them, he wouldn't come over. Next on the list was Karner Mechanical - I said a prayer and hoped for the best. To my surprise, a gentleman picked up and I began explaining our situation. I said I would send him photos quick to see if he would even be willing to stop because at this point we were more than desperate! He called me back after receiving the photos and was at my home within 15-20 minutes. Not only did he answer the call, he was highly professional and responded to our problem immediately during the busiest cold blasts of this year. Joe checked out the cob job done by the other company, made sure my heating system was safe to use and got the furnace up and running - all within an hour or so. He potentially saved us thousands of dollars worth the damage to the pipes and radiators by responding immediately on New Years Eve! Highly professional - extremely knowledgeable - honest and thoroughly explained things. I will not use anyone else going forward. I can honestly say that Joe is a perfect example of how a professional should treat their customers. In November of 2016 the boiler for my base board heat stopped working and Joe was recommended to me by a friend who said he was reasonable and does an excellent job. I have personally proven it for myself when he worked to repair my boiler, one of two heating systems that I have.. Unlike many professionals that I've come across, Joe educates you while he's working, so you'll be able fix things for yourself in the future. Joe not only did a great job but also followed up to make sure that everything was working fine. On February 14, 2017 my furnace stopped working. It was running but the fan was not blowing. I called Joe and after he arrived, I walked away to turn on the thermostat and by the time I got back he figured out what the problem was. When I asked what my fee was, to my surprise Joe said he was waving the fee for me being a loyal customer and the problem was so simple he could not in good conscience charge for it. Loved this company and loved Joe!!! Was shocked to read the one and only poor review from Mandy B...the reason I had chosen Karner Mechanical was because of the great reviews. Now having had worked with this company I can honestly say it truly deserves the 5 star rating it's consistently been getting. Joe took time out of his busy schedule to take a look at my mess of a boiler that had not been serviced in years (previous owner of the house I just bought hadn't properly cared for it). He was extremely knowledgable and took the time to explain every detail to me. He came the next day with all the parts I needed and fixed the entire boiler from the electrical (looked like a birds nest of wires prior) to piping that had been installed incorrectly, to a gas leak which I smelled and he found in minutes. Karner Mechanical was a solid choice on our part. Over a year ago he responded to our call and fixed our hot water heater, which kept it running up until yesterday. Every other company we reached out to wanted to immediately replace it, and at a ridiculous cost. Joe fixed it and advised us to use it until we couldn't anymore. I really appreciated not being ripped off or pushed into a hasty decision. Here we are 14 months later and it was time to replace it. Not only was he immediately responsive, he is honest and knowledgeable. I believe we got the best deal possible, while not sacrificing quality. We actually got a higher quality hot water heater, and for hundreds of dollars less than what the bigger companies wanted to charge us. Karner Mechanical is a small and fairly new business to this area, but it is the one I will be using for all of my future home improvements/emergencies. read more

Joseph Karner or Karner Mechanic Inc are not to do Buisness with. Definitely one of those businesses that talk high about their knowledge while degrading everyone else. So hi is definetly our to get you. I had him come and do some check up on one of my heaters. He claimed to change thermostat while the new thermostat was changed shortly before his appointment ? He provided one invoice, than few days later; added another invoice with almost a double of amount. When I tried to reason with him, he got into bullying mode and start talking to me as to an "immigrant" ! ...saying also you don't know this country and I am going to put a lean on your ass property... Through my experience; Joseph is racist and bully. Stay away from this shady Karner Mechanical Inc-Buisness - that's for now as I got to go put a court claim against him. read more

He gave me a very fair estimate over the phone, performed the work very quickly and cleanly and under his original estimate. Very Professional & reasonably priced! Would recommend him in a heart beat. He explained the problems and the options that we had. Talked with my husband on the phone for 45 minutes before coming out to the house in an effort to resolve the problem. read more
