The worst... ordered a Canadian pizza with green peppers.. after working a 13 hour day.. picked it up and drove home. Got home to discover I paid 30 dollars and change for a pepperoni and green pepper pizza... when I called the restaurant they wanted me to drive it back into town... to shorten this up ..let's just say I will never go back to this restaurant

Sat. March 16, 2024 at Karras' Way in 168 Raglan St S in Renfrew. We were from out of town and my first trip. Our trip did not go as planned because of a lot of mishaps, and going to dinner afterwards at KW made the trip worse. We came as a group of 4 at around 3pm and the place was empty but huge and spacious. It had large canvases of Greek buildings on the walls. My friends thought maybe it was just the timing being the reason why it was empty but the waitress didn't say anything when asked. My friend asked if the meals were gluten-free because she has allergies. The waitress asked if she had celiac disease. My friend said no, small amounts of gluten may be ok. The waitress said good because the meals labeled gluten free meals were not really gluten free. She said the meals were "gluten-friendly". She explained that there is still some gluten in the gluten-free meals but at a minimum that it wouldn't cause harm to someone who had some tolerance to gluten. Why does the restaurant menu state meals are gluten-free when they are not? And it also said in the menu that they're not responsible for cross contamination which makes you wonder about how careful are they handling food and safety concerns. We all ordered meals from the Authentic Greek Dishes listing page of the menu which clearly stated that all these meals included Greek salad, rice and potatoes. We also asked the waitress if we get the salad, rice and potatoes and she said yes. My friend said she didn't want any burned or charred pieces and I also said I didn't want any and the waitress agreed and she also looked my way and said she was getting my salad first. I assumed she was talking to me. But then several minutes later she says everyone else gets salads except me, rice and potatoes because I ordered the greek spaghetti & roasted leg of chicken for $26.95 which was more expensive than everyone else's meals. My friend shared his salad with me. I didn't complain because it doesn't make sense to have rice with pasta but why no salad? I didn't complain because I didn't want to cause a fuss. I am assuming the waitress likely found out later from the cooks in the kitchen because why would she say yes and then change her mind but she didn't apologize but should have. It seemed too late to change my order . We asked if these meals were authentic Greek food because some of the dishes on this list didn't sound Greek to us but the waitress said yes, it was authentic as it can get, and she didn't elaborate. That was a bad sign that she was withholding something or she didn't really know. While we waited for our food, she came back again from the kitchen to ask if we minded that the vegetables in the stir fry were frozen. She said she was concerned because my friend said she had allergies. Each meal from the Greek selection is $20 and up. My companions all got salad except me. I didn't say anything about it, but my friend pointed out that I should have got a salad to the waitress and she didn't say anything. I didn't complain because it didn't feel like this was a quality restaurant that I would care to return to. The meals didn't look or taste like any Greek foods I have had in the past. The white bread was hard, stale and cold. The chicken plain and I didn't really think it was cooked Greek style. The pasta with chicken leg was nothing special. We didn't like our meals. Customer service was poor with the waitress not mentioning the spaghetti didn't include the salad and she should have acknowledged she was wrong or tried to make it right and apologize but she didn't. Two of us asked for a container to take home the rest of the meal but I put mine in the trash after I got home. Two of my friends experienced stomach upset from their vegetable rice meal. I am never going to this restaurant ever again and I don't care to eat there again even if there was a free meal offered. We paid our meals with 15% tip even though they didn't deserve it. The waitress seems to be withholding something.

Spent half the day inexploring and visited a few places including a smoothie place called Blended. However this Greek restaurant Karras's was a hit. We ordered take out to eat at a park but they had plenty of patio space for us to decide to dine in. Let me just say, the chicken slouvaki was done perfectly! Every piece and every bite was crispy on outside, juicy inside, flavourfully marinaded though and I couldn't stop trying the next piece of chicken to check it wasn't a fluke. I've had mediocre, tough, dry chicken slouvaki too often in past 10 years that that I forgotten what good slouvaki was. The rice was seasoned and moist, the salad fresh with nice big pieces of feta. If you're in this area, give it a try. I'm fully sold and will be a regular when we pass through from the cottage.

We were happy that we did decide to give this place a try, as it was everything that we had expected, and more! When we walked-in, we were greeted by a young man, that asked if we wanted take-out or dine-in. We chose dine-in however, the restaurant was quite busy at the time so, we had to be seated at a table near the front entrance. Upon sitting, we noticed the iPad that was on the table for ordering. We were also given paper menus to look at, which was easier. Once we had placed our orders, we waited only about ten minutes for our salads to arrive, along with the hummus and pita bread. The salads were absolutely amazing; the bowls were filled to the brim with cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, olives, and feta cheese. All of the ingredients were fresh and tasty, and that dressing, WOW; it was delicious! It tied the salad in so well, it was the best salad we had ever tried at a Greek restaurant. The hummus was also delicious, with heated-up pita bread creating the finishing touches. This hummus was definitely homemade, and marvellous! We even asked for an additional pita, as the one we had wasn't enough for the four of us. This appetizer was definitely a great start! Once our main meals arrived, we were pleasantly surprised at how large the portions were. And the homemade sauce on top of the rice was wonderful; I don't know how they made the sauce, but it was perfect with the rice. The chicken was tender, with the tzatziki sauce not being needed often due to the tenderness. The potatoes were huge, and deliciously spiced. The meal was massive, and we couldn't finish it all; definitely worth what we had paid for! Throughout the entire meal, the server checked on us, bringing us water when we had asked, and making sure we were well taken care of. As we were leaving, the owner/chef asked where we were visiting from, and if we enjoyed the food. This place was hands-down the best Greek restaurant that we've ever been to; down to earth family-owned, amazing food, and great hospitality. Will definitely be back, and would recommend that you all try it as well; you won't be disappointed!

It's located in a small strip and sometimes it takes time to find parking but not bad at all. The food is really good and fresh... You can feel the flavor of the marination and cook in the grill. The plate that I would go back for?.... The pork souvlaki and the excelent garlicky hummus. The service is super friendly and the chef will always ask if everything was as a good as we expected. The atmosphere is simple but practical and confortable. I've been here 3 times and I think I will go back everytime I come back to Ottawa.

They have daily specials that rotate every day, including soups. The first time we tried Nick's was on a day that hubby felt like having pizza but I wanted something else, and ended up with Souvlaki with 2 skewers - one chicken and one pork. It was pretty good, coming from a small town! We had only tried takeout until recently. We were in a party of 8, but found a table with no problem. Service was quick enough, and the food was good. Everyone got something different (which is a bonus as far as I'm concerned). And the people in our party seemed to be happy with the food. IMHO it was really great seeing everyone, and I was happy not to have to clean up after this. Everyone wins! We will definitely be back.

I like that you can specify meat doneness, since I like my lamb medium rare. The platter comes with rice, potatoes, Greek salad, tzatziki sauce and pita bread. I always order an additional tzatziki sauce and another pita bread because they're very good and make perfect leftovers for lunch the next day. Everything about the Lamb Souvlaki Platter is perfect in my opinion and I especially love their potatoes. They are always crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! They pack the included pita right on top of the souvlaki and potatoes in the same container and I love the flavour the pita absorbs from them. You need to try this platter if you haven't before. I keep taking out-of-town family here for Greek food because it's worth experiencing. Something also worth mentioning is that Cozmos has a good online ordering system that makes it super easy to order ahead and pick up at a specific time. I recommend ordering online to save the time you would otherwise spend waiting after ordering in person, as they are often pretty busy.
