I'm not in Seattle but in Fresno Calif. A few years ago I called a Chilfrens Hispital here to donate a car . They were very nice and gave me a number to call. I don't know who these people were and I wonder now if they were legit ! I thought they were since they arrived st my address to pick the car up it was taken to a small town near San Diego A Charity Auction. It ended up in San Francisco and for TWO years or more I received tickets TOLL tickets at my address. Went to DmV in person filled out transfer sheet Had to go back and fill out the same FORM AGAIN. The last call I got was a man saying it was in a towing yard if I wanted it back. ?! Towed after being in a handicapped parking. NEVER will I donate a vehicle again. NEVER !! Beware. That phone call was just a few months ago !!!! read more

DO NOT DONATE TO KARS4KIDS!!!! They do not transfer the title and you are held responsible for any fines that might happen if the new owner doesn't transfer the title also. They do NOT protect their donors. It's not worth the risk. read more

Kars4Kids made donating my Mom's vehicle SOOOO easy. Initially I wasn't sure how to fill out the simple form as my Mom no longer uses email or her cell phone and we live in separate locations. I ended up using her husband's cell phone, their address where the vehicle was, and my email which worked well. Through the emails I received, I was able to oversee the whole process and call when needed as they are older now and get confused. I didn't want to miss the call back to schedule pick up and had to be able to be be present also to manage that. It all went smoothly. 360 Auto here locally was awesome. They gave us a 2 hour window on pickup day. Towards the end of that window, we got a friendly call from the driver giving us 30 minutes til he would arrive. In 25 minutes, he called again, I went down and he was busy getting ready to take the van (which no longer started) away! I just handed him the title and the keys and off it went. Turns out he was some kind of whiz mechanic too! Easy Peezy. What a great experience all around. read more

Kars4Kids is an excellent organization to choose if you want to donate your vehicle. The whole process, from start to finish, was very user friendly. Customer service is extremely accessible, they can be contacted by phone, chat, email and text. Their FAQ section explains things in detail, and setting up towing for your vehicle is made very simple. My overall experience with this organization was very positive, this is the second time I have used them to donate a vehicle. While I maintain a healthy skepticism for charities, all I can hope for is that Kars4Kids will use my donation to directly benefit someone in need. I have trust that they will. read more

And they are quick - I thought I procrastinated this time and needed to get the van removed from the house quickly. Donating Dodge Caravan 2002 (donation on July 11, 2015) Wow, where do I start my headache? I donated my dodge caravan 2002 to Kars4Kids about two to three weeks ago and my car wasn't pick up within 24 to 48 hours or within a week. I thought kars4kids pick up the donate car themselves, it turns out kar4kids is using Copart as their towing company. This is embarrassing and frustrating. The first towing guy came out and lost, couldn't find his way to the car even though I gave a good direction to my apartment. The copart rescheduled for later pickup and it wasn't the next business day....Finally the second week of the finally promising day to pick up my car, by the time the towing guy came by someone locked the doors to my car and all my keys and document are inside the car as I was instructed by the towing company or the kars4kids. All those times, wasting days and weeks I thought it was the kar4kids fault for not wanting to pick up my car, but it turns out the copart towing company was to be blame for not communicate with the towing guy or me. They kept extended the pickup date every time I called them to check on the pickup day. They kept changing the pickup date and promising the days and days and it didn't happen. Copart told me they can't pick up my car unless the car parked in the open area with its front facing the open parking area so that the towing company can easily take the car from the front, not from the back, but I told them all my keys are locked inside the car. And they were well aware of it. All those days and weeks I left my car unlocked for them to come pick up the car, but they kept reschedule their pick up days, excuse after excuse. "Oh, we don't have driver to come out...we are busy..." etc. Copart couldn't pick up the car because the car is locked. They even asked me to use a COAT HANGER TO UNLOCK THE CAR DOOR MYSELF. They didn't offer me their help to open the door. In other words they can't pick up the car or will not. I was upset... Third week, So I cancel my donation on Kar4kids and call a new company which I found online that would easily come pick up the car and it turns out that "donate a car to charity" and got an email from them. Take a look. "Great news! Your donation has been assigned for pickup. We've gone right to work on getting your vehicle picked up as soon as possible. Your vehicle was assigned to Copart--DVAA--DPV, you should hear from them within the next business day. If you need to schedule an urgent pickup please feel free to contact them directly at (866) 376-3822." OMG!!! What's happening? I'm sorry kars4kids I thought it was your guys fault. Kars4kids "Free towing in WA within 24 to 45 hours." OMG! Two to three weeks my donation is still parking in the parking lot. Do you know that!!! Now, when I called copart towing company they ID my numbers and didn't bother to pick up my call. You know my family and I were kind enough to donate our family van to a good cost. Comes to think of it, I don't think they care. It turns out to be a donate joke. Copart towing company is embarrassing to me and my family. I will give kar4kids a second chance of if I donate in the future read more

I see a lot of negative reviews here. But uhhhhh my experience was fine. They picked my car up w in a week, right when they said they would be there. Told me I didn't need to be there. Left title and key in glove box like I was asked, came home, car was gone. End of. Know I won't get a full 500 voucher, it says its a maximum amount. Not a big deal to me. I did this to get rid of the car not to get rich. Also, where the money goes? Again, don't care. I didn't pick K4K because of who gets my car, I picked them because they came and got my rotten POS car!. Thank you K4K read more

I believe Kars4Kids and Copart. Auto is a scam. Donated a 1977 Cadillac 77K miles, straight, running, brand new tires. Never received a valuation from them. called 6 months later. They said it sold for under $500.00 at auction. When I inquired further they said the actual sale price was $60.00. I went online and many recent news articles and reviews, all bad. Stay away from them. read more

I had a terrible experience trying to donate my dad's car to K4K. I handled all the paperwork through them, they told me I was all set, and when the tow truck driver arrived, he told me that I didn't have the proper paperwork. I called K4K, they couldn't tell me what happened and after spending 30 minutes on hold they told me someone from Operations would call me back within an hour. Over an hour later, no one had called me. I called back, they put me on hold for over 30 minutes with no answer. I emailed and called to cancel the donation, we'll see what happens next. Absolutely terrible experience, go through someone else. Edit: here are some more details about what happened. Back on June 21 I contacted K4K to donate my dad's car for him. On June 30, I was able to speak and then email with someone to handle all of the paperwork I would need to set up in order to donate the car on his behalf. I was clear that he would not be present for the donation, and they said that was completely fine. They said all I needed was a signed statement from him, along with the title, and I could even leave those in the glove compartment and didn't even need to be present myself. Unfortunately the car locks automatically, so I couldn't leave all of that in the glove compartment. I scheduled a day to take off work so that I could be there, and K4K told me I had everything completely handled and all I needed to do was be present when the tow truck driver arrived. I triple checked with them that it would be OK that my dad wasn't there and that all of the paperwork was taken care of. Fast forward to Monday, July 17. The tow truck driver arrives, and says I don't have the proper paperwork in order for him to tow the car. I call K4K, who says they're not sure what happened and puts me on hold for 30 minutes. Then tell me someone from operations will call me back within an hour. No one calls me and over an hour passes. I call back K4K, explaining that somebody was supposed to call me, I am put on hold again for another 30 minutes. No one can seem to answer my very simple question: "what happened?" I hang up and send an email saying I would like to cancel my donation and asking AGAIN what happened. Someone responds by asking me if I would like another tow truck company to come. WHAT?! I say absolutely not, I want to know what happened. No one responds to me. I try the chat function on the K4K website, and I'm not sure if I'm speaking with a robot or a person, but they also will not answer my question. They asked me if I would like to schedule another tow company to come pick up the car. Don't waste your time like I did. read more

I had a great experience donating my old Honda. The website was simple to use and they followed up the next day with instructions for the pick up and transfer of title which was on a Sunday. The tow truck company called Monday and by the afternoon my car was donated and off my property. I'm glad to support such a great charity. read more

My car broke down about 15 or so miles from my house and when I decided not to pursue fixing it, I was at a loss for what to do with it. I have heard the ads for Kars4Kids often on the radio so looked them up online. I called and gave my information, and they said someone would contact me to schedule a pick up. I was called the next day and scheduled for pick up about 3 days later, a 8-noon window. The tow guy called me at 8am the day he was scheduled to pick it up, I met him, signed the title and handed him the keys and that was it. Great to get it off my hands and great cause. read more

do not donate your car to this company its a mess. i donated my car about a year and a half ago and ive gotten 8 parking tickets with my name on it. they didn't change the title or anything. i was in collection for $8000 because the stupid person they gave the car to kept getting a parking ticket and he/she didn't pay their ticket. i shouln't be responsible for anything since i already donated the car. i just received a letter from the court where the person keeps getting the tickets saying i didn't show up to my court date which i never even knew i had a court date for something i didnt do. when i called k4k customer service they always say email us the letter and we will pay it but thats not the only thing i need i keep telling them find the person they gave the car to and change the car title to their name. now my record is all messed up and my credit score is messed up because the parking company put me up in collection. i was just trying to do something good i should have not donated my car to k4k to begin with. do not donate anything to this company unless you want to mess up your record and your credit score. i hate this company. read more
