Found an absolutely delicious serving of babba ganoush without garlic. I know, but I just can't do it. The passionfruit juice was such a yummy treat. The beef shawarma wrap was tasty ~ needed a bit more sauce so I used the babba ganoush and ohhhhh myyyyy. Just right. Service was great ~ friendly and attentive. The restaurant has had a lot of renovations. So while the interior looks much nicer than the first time I came a year or so ago, I don't think the food is as good as it once was. This now seems to be a Hispanic restaurant that serves some Mediterranean items. The music playing is in Spanish and they serve alcohol now. Service has definitely dropped since my first visit a year or so back. Half of the items on their menu come with fries, yet they are sold out from the previous day's business (so I was told) and had zero intention of ensuring they could fulfill our order. I will most likely not be back. I guess I'm no longer the type of customer they are catering to. I also see no signs on the menu or in the restaurant anywhere showing the food is halal either. Hope they do well with whatever demographic they want to cater to. There are more traditional Mediterranean options that are closer to me that I'll go to now. read more

I was wanting something different and this place did not disappoint. It was delicious! The hummus sampler was the best I've ever had. Hubby had the chicken Shawarma wrap and I had the beef. Both sooo flavorful. Daughter got the hamburger and she said it was awesome. It didn't come on a brioche bun like it showed but she said the bun was fresh. Sooooo good!!! I am so excited to go back and try more. They were a little empty during lunch so I hope they can get a lot more business because they deserve it. Everything was super fresh and made to order. They even warned us that we would have to wait 12 minutes for them to cook a plate which was thoughtful since it was lunch time. Very nice waitress. Everything is brand new and very pretty. I like the look they have going. The food was just exceptional. I got a shawarma wrap mix and a side of fries. This review is for the brick and mortar shop that this food truck became, which is awesome because one no longer has to chase their food in the form of a truck! It was a cold December day, and after a very busy day at work, my tummy was growling and wanted a chicken shawarma wrap, specifically the one at Kasiun. I've had many chicken shawarma wraps in the greater Houston area, and they all have their own unique highs and lows. However, this particular day I wanted Kasiun's because first, I was in the area, and second, because their chicken shawarma sandwich is just full of its own unique flavors that I craved that night. Let me tell you, first of all, I ordered the chicken special, which comes with chicken shawarma and falafel altogether with the goodness of a shawarma sandwich. Then, there's the hidden pita chips mixed into all this deliciousness to give you the crunch surprise as you take bite after bite of this sandwich. Guys, I promise you'll just want to keep on eating it, which was exactly what I did. Mmm Mmm Mmm, the flavors with the chicken, falafel, garlic sauce, veggies and secret pita chips are super tasty all mixed together in a warm pita wrap. So delightful! My only complaint was is that the chicken shawarma meat was drier than I remembered from before. However, I still really enjoyed my meal, and I'm definitely coming back! They also have Mediterranean pizzas, kebabs and other choices such as chicken plates if a sandwich isn't what you are feeling for the day. I also tried a baklava that night too. I placed an order for one to pick up and the woman on the phone said it will take 15 minutes so I thought wow they are making it fresh from hand. Man I was wrong, As soon as I got it and looked inside it looked like something out of a horror movie. It was sitting in a puddle of its own water and that's why I realized it was not made fresh just bought frozen and reheated. I lost my appetite to I gave it to my dog he enjoyed it much more than me. Wow! Hubby and I ate here for the first this evening. we love Mediterranean food, and we were intrigued because this place describes itself as a fusion of Mediterranean and Venezuelan cuisine. Hubby ordered chicken kabob, and I had the felafel plate. The presentation of these entrees was so artistic that I had to take a picture before we dived in. Everything was fantastic, and the felafel was the best I've had outside the Middle East. The meal was not expensive (about 50 bucks with tax and tip, including our appetizer). Decent overall. Ordered mixed shawarma plate and falafel plate. Meat and falafel were really good. Hummus tasted like any that you'd get from the grocery store. Pita was dry, hard, and not fresh. Wish they served things with some sauce. Prices were too high but I've noticed this to be the norm with places that used to be food trucks. Also, the woman taking our order kept going back to the kitchen and grabbing stuff to eat. She'd stand behind the counter chomping on food, then wipe her hands on her pants, take orders and then bring food. Never washing her hands in between. And she was eating with her hands. I tried to not think about it but it was pretty gross overall. I don't know if we'll be back. Kabob Korner down the street is just as good, less expensive, and have a "no one goes hungry" cause which is amazing. read more

Pretty tough opening, but Kasiun was a huge disappointment, unlike many of the reviewed restaurants here. Off-white walls, old and refurbished dining furniture, noisy interior (could not hear my order repeated), and they had WRESTLING on the TV as the Astros took the World Series. Right there.... The staff has a problem speaking English. I ordered 2 Schwarma plates and was delivered and charged for only one. The Schwarma plate I got was plentiful but they had a surcharge for take-out. Meat was tough. Tobouli was bland. Garlic sauce was boring and inadequately supplied/surprised. I give Kasiun a 4 out of 10 and we won't be back. read more

So this place is not a food truck. It's a sit down fast casual restaurant. The menu is mainly shawarma but it's a fantastic shawarma. Portions are huge. Their 'special' shawarma has a falafel and pita chips inside. You can also get fries inside. We also had the picanha which was wonderful tender meat. Would recommend medium rare. service sucks. every since they added the bar and changed the inside the service sucks and you can't get waited on. this is the second time I have gone here to get an order to go and both times this has happened to me. I have sat down at a table and waited to be waited on but the staff is too busy standing at the the bar and waiting on the outside tables and back inside to the bar or straight to inside the kitchen. they will catch a larger party coming in and seat them and never acknowledge me table of one sitting there. twice this has happene. no matter how good some of the food is and I say SOME its not worth it to me. probably the last time. Kasiun doesn't have a lot of recent reviews so I was diving head first into trying it for the first time. If you are allergic peanuts, don't get the chicken shawarma as it has peanut seasoning. Therefore, I got the beef shawarma. This place is pricy, so I was hoping the quality would be on par with the price($13.40). However, it wasn't. The staff was super friendly and answered the questions I had for them and made the experience smoother. I did wait awhile to receive the food, but it wasn't too bad. It's sad to see the transition from such a nice restaurant that served good portions for a fair price change to a bougie wannabe "high end" lounge with hooka that overprices their mediocre food and offering small portions. I will own up to the mistake for not looking at the new menu and assuming they still served the same food, however the amount of food they offered for a $18 plate is abysmal and almost criminal. I paid over $75 and refused to take the food due to price/quality/and amount, however staff denied me a refund stating that the owner isn't present. I left a Google review regarding my incident and the owner replied immediately due to being aware of the situation and was fairly hostile and accusing me of not giving the staff enough time to resolve the issue when I was simply given the statement that nothing can be done due to the absent owner, and also accused me of being disrespectful to his staff when the owner himself was not present to confirm nor deny, and to top it off, the staff were not fluent in English and had to use Google Translate for one of our initial interactions. From a business perspective I know for a fact the owner will not reimburse or compensate me even with video evidence of me not picking up my food (if their cameras even work). I am currently trying to resolve the issue with my bank. Avoid this place at all cost especially if you were a fan of the old place. read more
