    Koobideh kabob plate

When we first moved to this area, we tried to eat here but it was closed. While shopping in the plaza, we decided to finally give it a shot. After placing our order, we could hear the microwave in the kitchen. Kind of disappointing as I was hoping for some authentic Persian food. The Koobideh kabob was very chewy, I only ate a couple bites but couldn't finish. I will say the falafel was really flavorful but not as crispy as I would have like and probably the only thing I kind of enjoyed. The tah dig tasted more stale than crunchy.

Great small restaurant in the Katy area. Meats are Juicy and very flavorful. Restaurant never seems busy so getting food was very quick. Would come by here if looking for something quick while your significant other shops in the nearby stores.

One of THE BEST places into eat in Katy. Absolutely delicious grilled meats, nan bread and hummus, gyros and chicken shawarma. The owner is always there personally cooking up your dishes to order and making sure everything it too itch. You can taste the love and pride that goes into this food. Hummus is some of the best I have ever had. Favorite dishes include the Chicken Soltani combo plate with grilled chicken and beef kabobs and the chicken shawarma wraps. You will love it!

Food is delicious! I'd recommend coming here, the falafel is actually HUGE and delicious. They are so accommodating and sweet. My boyfriend got the lamb gyro plate and it was so flavorful. I'll definitely be coming back.

First time here and I don't know what to order. I've been staring in their menu for like 5 mins and ended up ordering Lamb gyro since I wanted to try their version here in Texas. My aunt and uncle both ordered koobideh kabob. Food came out fresh, hot and in large portions. Lamb gyro is absolutely amazing. It's full of flavor and generously portioned for only $5.99. I should've ordered extra garlic sauce lol. Very affordable prices. Service was excellent and quick. The best Lamb gyro I've had in Houston. Not fancy but I love the simplicity of the place. I definitely will be coming back when visiting my family again. Would recommend this place if you're in the area.

This was our uneventful lunch plate with hummus, rice and overcooked grape leaves served on Styrofoam.

Horrible service, very unfriendly manager/owner gentlemen. It felt like we were imposing on him by being there and there were only 2 other customers at the time and yet he was very courteous to them. Food was bland and boring, both in appearance and flavor (see photo). Very overpriced for the quality. We didn't feel welcome here. Place felt run down. Everything served on Styrofoam. Owner/manager attitude made us extremely uncomfortable. So many other, better Mediterranean cafés to choose from -- ones with fresh food and better attitude.

Alright, well since I live in Minnesota and eat lots of Halal/Middle Eastern food, I just had to try some down in Texas, right? There is nothing like naan and hummus with a bit of rice and meat. And I think we were able to find two places in Texas that we were willing to try that were near by. First, lets just start with the warmth of the food. Heat as in temp. not taste. Which was good. I like my food hot and if the food is hot then you know they made it to order versus just scooping it from a pan like how they do at Chipotle. Next lets talk about the rice. I have had more flavorful rice, however it wasn't terrible. The rice was a bit thinner which I am guessing it is because the ethnicity of the owners and their home style cooking is different then what I have had. Which, keep in mind yall, that isn't a bad thing. But I am just making notes so yall know. It might be different than your typical longer grain that you may eat normally. But it is not by any means bad. Its still good, and cooked well. Now, the meat, seasoned well. Cooked very well. I like my meat pretty flavorful in general, so this was good and the meat was pretty delicious on its own but the rice that was with it was nice to complement and almost mix together when eating. You know that feeling when you eat something by itself and its like.. "Okay.. Cool" And you eat something that compliments it and you're like.. "Well.. holy crap.." yeah that feeling. Lastly, the sauce. MMKAY. Yall know.. Well I at least hope yall know, its all about the sauce.. (At least me. I love sauce.) The sauce that is pictured on my togo order, the white sauce on the gyros. I have no clue what that is. What it is called. It could be garlic lard or all I know. All I know is that IT WAS FREAKING DELICIOUS. No joke. It had yummy garlicy flavor and would literally melt in your mouth. If I could get more of that sauce, I would. Cause it made me eat so much, I went to bed with a food baby and woke up with a baby dump. Bottom line: Yeah, I'll do it again. I ate two togo orders... soo.....

All 3 meals were really flavorful, good quality, really well-seasoned, very juicy and so delicious. The gyros and burger are without question imo the best in TX. Ekko's and Nick The Greek are 2nd n 3rd for Greek food for me. I always got the gyros sandwich as opposed to the plate before which is odd bc I always prefer meat plates over sandwich form in other foods like bbq, steak, etc. The meat pieces were all really tasty and had some slight char to them too. The taziki sauce is always cold, creamy in feel and refreshing with a good yogurt aroma to it. It's a great bonus and the gyros didn't even need it tbh. The tomatoes were nicely refreshing and the exotic, cool center dolma is always a little treat with meals here. The rice and chunky lemon potatoes with my meals were always mild but still great in texture and prep. As I said before; from my experiences in every single Greek cafe, if the taziki sauce is good, the gyros will be too. It's a solid symptom and indicator imo. As for the burger, very rarely are burger places only in TX actually any good for the past 15 years. So many are just average or below lacking seasoning or a great overall flavor. Niko Niko's, Goode Company Hamburgers and TX Hamburger Palace are my top 3 in that order for it. Each different too. The brioche buns were just the right thickness and very soft to make the beef patty stick out well. The patty was so nice in charbroiled taste, saltiness, richness, beefiness and tender in every bite. A good burger doesn't need much in toppings, but cool, refreshing, tomatoes are a must for me and pickles add some tangy crunch too. For steak rare, but for a burger medium to medium rare. I had never seen or heard of their Greek Spaghetti n Meat Sauce before. This was like a Greek Bolognese with a lot of love in its flavor. The noodles were drained, very moist and so soft. I don't like too much cheese, so I took some off, but still like some. The meat sauce gravy itself was really flavorful, savory, fatty enough and had that subtle sweet, warm spice aroma you get in the Greek lasagna. I like to get dessert here sometimes when I have extra room, bc they have some great options like their galaktobourreko, chocolate ganache cake, etc. The service was very welcoming, friendly and efficient on these visits.

The place is new but not recently new, so I was impress that they were still attracting a crowd. The place was packed and busy but the host was still able to seat us immediately. With reservation, of course. Our seat was a banquet seating and when the host directed us to our table, we notice the party seated next to our table had placed all their personal belongings on our seats. We had to ask the host to ask them to remove their personals so that we can sit down. I felt that the host should have done that and not upon our request. Our server was Keamogetswe and she jumped right into explaining the menu since it was our first time. I am used to ordering drinks first and while waiting for our drinks, explore the food menu. That way, we can ask questions about any item we were unfamiliar with on the menu. Anyways, we ordered our food and they came out very fast. For starters, we had the grilled shrimp which was just two shrimps. They were not prawns so the size of the two shrimps for $18 was not worth it to me. We also tried the Rumi's wings. They were average to me. Nothing to brag about. For the main course, we wanted to try several dishes and settle for a family style meal. We had the braised lamb shank, chicken kabob and the Koobideh Kabob. Since all plates came with rice, Keamogetswe suggest we try different rice options which was a great suggestion. So for the rice, we had the Adas, the Baghali and the Shirin. I have to admit that the braised lamb was amazing. The stew it sat in was very flavorful and the meat melted off the bone it came with. The Koobideh was also another favorite of mine. Both, I highly recommend everyone to try. And my favorite rice was the Shirin. As we moved on to dessert, we had the burnt honey & pistachio cake and the persian ice cream sandwich. Both taste great but the persian ice cream sandwich itself was vanilla wafer. Different but it made it easier to eat with your fingers. The weird thing was when the dessert was served to us, so was the check. I am used to us eating dessert or just starting to enjoy dessert before being handed the check. And when they do hand me the check, they would mention that it was no rush and when I am ready to take care of it. But that didn't happen and I decided to get it out of the way so I can just enjoy the dessert. As we were conversing and finishing our drinks, they started to clear our table and even picked up the signed check or tab. It felt like they were hinting us to get up. I feel that if there was a time frame to dine with them, they should have made us aware of it before dinner or when we made reservation like how Toca Madera does. So that made me feel uncomfortable. But this could just be me.
