I booked Kat for a brazilian blowout express. I told her that I was running 12 minutes behind due to traffic on 95, she told me that it was fine and that Fridays are always like that. When she saw my hair she looked shocked that I have so much and said "wow I've never worked on that much hair." She rushed my hair like nothing I have ever experienced. she told me she was going to apply a deep conditioning mask, which she didn't. she barely applied it and washed it immediately after. she then informed me her client was outside and that she cannot finish my hair. I told her how unsatisfied I was for a $130 service and she told me it was my fault for coming late. please save yourself the trouble of going to this person. I had long hair for about 3 years when I decided to get it cut and I was really worried about what it was going to look like short. I booked my appointment online through her website. I selected a long hair cut and consultation. When I went in she only charged me for a clipper cut which saved me a bunch of money. I was doing a ton on online searching to find the perfect hair stylist, as you can see in the first picture before Kat... The last lady who did my hair did not do at all a great job. That was after seeing her TWICE not just once. Of course it's a process, but my hair looked the exact same after the second appointment and it was so poorly done without care. And then I found Kat! She took her time painting my hair. She put so much detail into every piece to make it absolutely perfect! I could not of been happier, the after picture is only after one visit. She was completely able to fix my hair, and she's the only stylist I trust to cut and do my hair! Kat was suggested to me by my regular stylist who has been out due to multiple major surgeries. The first time I went to Kat, it was great., minus the fact she told me she was running late. Yesterday, not so much. Long story short, Kat was kind of rude both via text and in person to the point that I brought it to her attention and told her I'd just do a cut, no color work. Because she was making it seem like I chose the wrong thing and didn't know what service I booked. Even if that's the case, are you supposed to act that way toward a client? I gave her the benefit of the doubt, having worked in the hospitality industry many years and knowing sometimes people just have bad days. We managed to squash the tangible tension. My haircut looked good and I was scheduled to come back another day for a full 6 hours which is what she would need to work with my hair since it's so dark and long (how am I supposed to know that? nothing on her website says anything about adjusting time and if she thought she hadn't worked with me before, maybe got in touch ahead of time so as to not waste anyone's time? ‍) she tried to sell me on multiple hair products even though I expressed no interest and had said I am pretty simple about my hair. it wasn't until later that evening that I really checked out the back of my hair and noticed how completely messed up the cut is! (click photo to enlarge) she had shown me the back while I was there but I was sitting in the chair and never have I stood up out of the chair and got close to the mirror while I've been in a salon. because never have I got a cut like this before. I texted her politely showing her my hair asking her if she'd fix it. Considering i paid $67 for a wash and trim I also bought a $30 product and left her a $20 tip. She said "that's why I asked you what shape you liked and you didn't seem to have a preference. Sorry you don't like it and I don't mind fixing it but it can't be tomorrow bc I'm supposed to be in Philly. The next time I'll be able to do it is Tuesday and I have you scheduled to come in then anyways." I legitimately don't think she asked me "what shape I liked." I have never been asked that before by a stylist, not even her the first time I went. and if by chance, there were a misunderstanding and I seemed to have "no preference," why on earth would you cut my hair like this?? ‍ I told her I couldn't wait until Tuesday with my hair like this and said have fun in Philly. Luckily my friend used to cut hair and still has all her stuff and agreed to help with my emergency but it won't be til this evening. My friend was shocked when I showed her the picture asking what the H*** did she (Kat) do to my hair, did I go to some bee girl, and genuinely felt sorry that this happened to me. Unlike Kat, who barely apologized or acknowledged that the hair cut is flat out wrong! Then expects me to wait til Tuesday for her to probably have an attitude and mess it up even more?? No thanks. For the past 2 years I have had the pleasure of having Kat do my hair! She not only makes me feel comfortable and relaxed while in the chair she makes me look and feel amazing!
