This is one of my favorite Thai spots on the Eastside and I personally think it is worth it to drive and go here from Kirkland. Honestly everything is good and I have yet to have a bad dish here. Thus far we have only ordered takeout but the inside is nice too and I would like to dine in one of these days. On our most recent visit we ordered the basil fried rice with pork, pad see ew with beef, and yellow curry with chicken. Rice isn't included so we did make some jasmine rice at home to go with the curry. All three dishes were delicious and if you order them with some spice they do give you some spice which I appreciate! They also give you a solid amount of protein which is nice as well. We really liked the tom kha soup. It had a refreshing coconut and tangy flavor with a little heat. We ordered a 4 level for spiciness but it could have had a little more heat. Maybe we'll try a 5 next time. The yellow curry was a bit more watery than we were used to but it went well with rice. The Thai iced tea was mostly ice, however we were able to request less sugar and we could taste the tea more. Service was great. They were friendly, accommodating and willing to help with questions. Gave the Kau Gai Noodle a try: solid seafood + chicken dish with even proportions of meats and delicious wide rice noodles. It's listed as "street food" in Thailand and I'm curious about their definition of street food because this is more of a sit-down style dish. Went with 4 star and they brought extra hot sauce which I appreciated. Good solid dish but seemed too similar to other dishes (disclaimer: I'm definitely NOT a Thai food expert!). Quality Thai food in Bothell! Great menu with all the Thai classics. The inside is clean and really modern feeling. Plenty of seating. It looks like they also have a back patio for outdoor seating in the summer. I tried the Cashew Savory as the cashew stir fry dish is one of my favorite Thai dishes. It was delicious! They include pineapple in theirs which I've found isn't common, but it was a nice touch, bringing a bit of sweetness to the dish. We were celebrating my friend's birthday and I let the staff know when we arrived. They surprised her with a cheesecake with lychee (?) or passionfruit (?). Not sure what the fruit was, but it was delicious and so refreshing. It was such a nice gesture and the fact that they remembered and I didn't have to remind them was so nice. We were greeted with a smile and seated immediately at 5 PM on a Friday. Clean and friendly environment that has both booths and tables. A brisk take-out business observed as well that most likely contributes to the extra fresh and tasty ingredients. The yellow curry was spot on with flavor and a generous portion as well. The Phad Thai is worth the trip alone. We went with 2 stars out of 5 and that was sufficient for us, they have chili oil and spices to increase heat if so desired. Fried rice was delicious as well. We gave up on the previous owners and we're giving this restaurant another try after a couple years of driving right by. We are so glad we stopped to check it out. We will be regulars going forward. A cute, modern Thai restaurant with a charming ambiance that leans toward a light, European inspired white theme. The service was a bit slow we had to wait to be seated and to place our order. I tried the Pad Kee Mao at maximum spice, which definitely delivered on heat (I loved that), but it felt a little dry and could have used more flavor except heat. Cute and cozy little restaurant located in Kenmore. I was greeted by super friendly Staff, who took me to a comfortable booth as I got here a little early before a lunch meeting with a coworker. They have a very robust menu with plenty of traditional Thai options. I ended up ordering the pad see ew with chicken. You have a choice for your spice level anywhere between one to five. I selected a three, which gave my mouth and lips a very warm tingle. That is probably the highest spice that I can handle. The dish was very well cooked and the noodles were delicious. Great flavor overall. And the portion was very generous. Definitely worth coming back to try some of the other noodle or curry dishes. read more

The spice level here is pretty authentic unlike many other places where a spice level 3 is like a 1. The spice levels here are pretty accurate so get what you can handle. My friend and I wanted to try a Thai restaurant that we've never been before. We chose Kataliya and were not disappointed. My friend has traveled to Thailand and loved the food there. I loved Thai food and visited numerous restaurants in the Puget Sound. What separated Kataliya from the others was the food was excellent and there was not a waiting line to get seated. The ambiance was not what you expect in your normal Thai restaurant but it was clean and comfortable. The service was above average of what you normally get in restaurants. Green curry was star of the evening. Taste was bang on and also if you want to spice it up ask for the hot sauce, it is just perfect. Curry was presented with a gorgeous looking vessel. Went for lunch with a large group of around 11 people. They were able to seat us immediately. They've got a sizable menu, and everything feels reasonably priced (think entrees around $15 as opposed to the $20+ entrees that are becoming too common :'( haha). We ordered a mix of curries, fried rices, and proteins. The curries were flavorful and the portion felt large. My favorite was the crab fried rice. With large chunks of crab, the fried rice really hit the spot and went well with the sweetness of the panang curry. I also tried the crispy duck and it was full of sweet and tangy flavor. We come here frequently with our kids. They have a fantastic little setup for kids to distract themselves prior to dinner. It's a HUGE selling point. The ambiance is amazing - I really love how the place is laid out. The staff are really friendly, and the food is really good, though in fairness we always order the same things (dumplings my daughter inhales, garlic chicken, hot basil chicken, thai iced tea, and the occasional wonton soup). It's genuinely one of those restaurants where I say, "Should we get Thai?" and my wife never ever has to wonder which place I'm talking about. (If you can find that with either Thai or pizza, you've hit the jackpot, imo.) Based on their prices (which are slightly lower than the average similar place in the area), I'm surprised they aren't completely slammed always. They deserve it. read more

I hadn't gotten food here for at least a year if not longer because the coconut milk on the mango sticky rice was sour. I decided to give them another try this past Friday. There was this large piece of plastic in one of the crab rangoons. The size and the way it was folded makes it really hard to fathom how it ended up in there if not intentionally. Our favorite Thai place in the Kenmore area. The food has that amazing smoky wok flavor that's hard to find -- everything tastes fresh and really well balanced. I'm glad there is a decent Thai food option in Kenmore, but the food had some misses. I expect Tom Yum soup to be hot and sour, but this was too sweet. Pad See Ew had a nice char on the noodles and lots of tofu and broccoli, but was a bit too salty. Some of the best Thai we've had in the greater Seattle area! The Pad Kee Mao was legit perfect. Despite being paler in color than some, it packed a punch of flavor! It's loaded up with Thai basil, chili, garlic, and other anticipated spices and flavors. The veggies all tasted very fresh and had a nice wok-sear. But the absolute star was the tofu. Holy cow! It tasted like it had been marinated overnight in a bath of Thai goodness and then gently cornstarched and flash fried to keep the inside moist and spongy but the outside very crispy. The textures and flavors were so good, I could have eaten just a plate of that tofu with no sauce and been in heaven. The Pineapple Fried Rice was amazing as well. It was a very large portion and every bite was an adventure; sometimes the raisins were the highlight, other times the cashews, sometimes the umami mushrooms, and others the sweet seared pineapple. The underlying curry profile provided a nice elevation to each bite that just had the green beans, onions, and carrots which were all cooked great. The service was fast, attentive, and friendly. This place has been through multiple changes (names, ownership) over the last several years. Mostly the result has been a bit of a miss for one reason or another. It once again has a new name and, reportedly, new owners. I wanted to check it out. I had a solo lunch of Pad See Ew and the flavors were good. I like a lot of spice, but I'm cautious with the first meal at a new place so I only ordered three stars. It was pretty mild by my standards. Will bump to four next time. They have a spice tray with four options, but the items need refreshing. Service was very friendly, although the waitress did not include the lunch menu when she seated me so I ordered off the dinner menu when I could have had a lunch special Still Kataliya seems to be getting a good start and I'm hopeful they'll be a good option as Kenmore could use a good Thai restaurant. read more
