Great local spot! I've eaten here dozens of times and have never been disappointed. It's definitely a family go-to on those lazy days when nobody feels like cooking. It's a smaller spot, but they do have tables if you want to eat there. The staff is kind, always. And we have to talk about the desserts because they are SO good! We always end up grabbing a few when we pick up food -- they're just too hard to resist. After losing my favorite Hawaiian spot up north, I'm so glad to have Buddha Bruddah nearby. Service was friendly and prompt to order at the checkout and wait for your food. There was quite a line that formed after we got there right at opening. The food took a little bit longer than necessary, but it was well worth the wait. The portions were huge and very filling easily. Had enough leftovers for another meal. Always have loved the food but today it was very clear that the manager was not in. I waited 30 minutes for my food, saw some things I would've preferred not to see as far as cleanliness. The Cook was wiping his sweat off with his arm over plates that he was passing over and they were incorrect as he was taking them back and just shoveling food around. The young kid at the front was unapologetic and honestly didn't really care about anything. Sad. I'm not sure what happened here. This used to be a five star spot in my book. read more

Remember the days when you could get decent teriyaki in Seattle from those little strip mall places for less than $20 per person? Remember how you thought those days were gone? Well I'm happy to tell you that Buddah Bruddah is hanging on to those days. This place is affordable and delicious. We went kayaking on the lake and were headed back home from the boat launch- it was sunny and we were tired and hungry. I've been here before but only for take out so this time we ordered and stayed. I got the pork and my son got beef. Both dishes came with rice, awesome hawaiian style macaroni salad and cole slaw. They have a large variety of sauces that you can't skip. Try them all. Just so good. Seriously. The atmosphere is nothing special, but it is relaxed and pleasant. As we were leaving I grabbed a menu...my son was reviewing it in the car, deciding what he'd get next time...and got excited that they had pineapple fried rice. We'll be back for sure. read more

My favorite Hawaiian/Fusion spot around Seattle/Eastside! First discovered them with their food truck at one of the Marymoor Park concerts. I've had most of the mix plate proteins and have always loved them every time. Probably what I love most is the amount of food you get--the portions are always great, can stretch it out to 2 meals. Whenever I'm in Kenmore, I stop by this place. Plenty of seats at their restaurant and it's clean and staff is friendly. Recently tried the coconut cream pie and it was OK. The thing you come here for is the main entrées. Will probably try one of their other noodle dishes at some point. read more

I've come here a lot with my family and really love trying new menu items I haven't tried before. This is my second review and really want to emphasize the spice levels. I love the self serve sauces and the sambal is really balanced. It wasn't super hot and it gave the food a nice kick. It tasted house made and it wasn't sweet like the sambal bottle with the rooster. I love the mahi mahi and it's my go to. I enjoy the grill in the fish and the best part is the garlic and oil mixture that soaks in the rice. The beef is generous and we always have left overs. The cut is lean and the marinate is nice and sweet but not overly sweet where I'm feeling like I'm eating a teriyaki Oberto jerky. The slaw is always balanced and there is a unique ingredient which I can't pinpoint which makes it savory and unlike other slaw I've had which is super creamy and mayonaisy. The shrimp is always perfect and can't believe how generous the portions are. The best part is the fried garlic which are crispy and really enjoyable to eat after the shrimp. It's like the icing on the cake. The pad se ew was ok. I liked the balance of the sauce and the spice level. The chicken was a little overcooked in the stir fry. I felt the fried rice was bland and both the noodle and the rice seemed more like sides as opposed to the fish and meats which are the stars. No complaints and just observations. The service is always great and I appreciate the consistency each time, hard work, and community love that I see from customers, and take out orders. If I could suggest one thing. I would love a n/an option to pair with the food. I think the Athletic and craft beers infused with fruit or hop water would pair nicely with the food. read more

We were able to walk in and easily order our food and ask for a dessert suggestion. We really enjoyed our combo Huli huli chicken and kalua pork combo and well as the pineapple fried rice. They were both fantastic dishes. I appreciate nothing was too salty and the flavors came through, from the fried egg to the pork and grilled chicken and fresh pineapple. The banana cream pie first tasted just like vanilla box pudding but had much better flavor once I had a second bite that included the fresh banana slices. Everything came in ready-to-go containers, which was kind of precarious to share across the table but convenient for the portion sizes and expected leftovers. We typically get the chicken katsu, Huli chicken, and Hawaiian beef to share for our family of 4 and generally have leftovers. All of the meats have tasted overcooked. There's barely any sauce on the huli chicken and the beef was chewy and dry today. The breading to the chicken katsu is falling off (and the chicken tastes way over done - I don't know if it's day old or if it's previously frozen but definitely doesn't take like freshly battered and fried). It's a bummer because it used to be great to have a unique takeout option but I really don't think we'll drive out anymore. (Hawaiian/thai) Walking in without a clue, we tell the employees we never been here what do you have and she was super nice explaining what type of food then made and suggested the most popular choices. Phad see ew at this place is very very bad. The noodles are all broken and mush. Never had such a bad rice noodle dish, the chicken was also in chunks with little flavor and felt woody. I gave this a 1 score, and will not order this from this place again. I tried to eat it, but very hard to swallow, ended up having to throw it away. On the other hand, upon my request, they refunded me the dish and allowed me to replace that dish with another one, I ordered Hawaiian Beef, that was ok. Great food here. I believe Buddha Bruddah began as a food truck and now it has several brick and mortar locations in the Puget Sound area. I love their food and the fact they are local started small and seem to be more and more successful each day. We had a couple of orders of the Drunken Noodles, one with Tofu and another with Shrimp. The first one was made Vegan for my daughter. Our friend and I each had the Huli Chicken & Kalua Pork combo. The Huli Chicken and Kalua Pork were super tender and flavorful. The combos were served with Steamed Jasmine Rice and Green salad and the infamous Macaroni Salad. I could eat a whole meal of the mac salad but probably shouldn't for the sake of my belly! I got the huli huli chicken and kalua pork combo plate. pork was flavorful and tender and the chicken had that smoke from the grill. That sauce was so gooood. The mac salad was refreshing as well as the cole slaw. Such huge portions that I gave my husband the leftovers and he was able to eat as a meal. Their in-house nuoc cham was sooo good. The first time I had this, it was amazing. Very unique flavors and a ton of food. I even recommended it to a couple of people. Unfortunately, they were not impressed. I decided to go back and try it myself again with my dad. I bought chicken katsu, shrimp and I believe a pork dish. All of them tasted like nothing :/ my chicken katsu breading was not sticking to the chicken and it pretty much all fell off the chicken. This is due to breading frozen chicken that hasn't been thawed (used to work in a kitchen). Buddha, when you guys get busy, please don't drop your quality to get food out the door... it's not worth my money if it don't taste like nothing. read more

Tried the buttermilk chicken katsu plate ($14) and the Kahlua Pork Plate ($13). They DEFINITELY need the sauces and they either were out or we didn't see them. Hands down THE BEST! Walk in and its a super chill joint with a sweet friendly lady manning the counter. No loud banging of the kitchen doing their thing and it's a fairly open layout. I had the Mochiko Chicken. Breading was light and crispy while the insides were still juicy and tender. No fighting with dried chicken here. They top it with a Gochujang sauce that has a very slight hint of heat. Wifey had the Garlic Basil Chicken and that too was breaded and fried to perfection. She topped hers with their Huli Huli sauce and that pulled it all together for her. Both fried chicken plates didn't even have any sign of oils used. Like...DID YOU USE AN AIR FRYER?! It was that clean of some fried chicken. Not even a sign of oil built up on the bottom. My dad had the Hawaiian Grilled Beef. Tender to perfection and sauced nicely that it wasn't overbearing. They all came with 2 scoops of rice, 1 scoop of Mac, and an Asian Slaw. The rice was the best ever and the star of the plate! Just kidding...it was rice. I just wanted to say that cause no one ever boasts about plain ash rice. The Mac is the best Mac ever. Better than even the Big Mac. Their version had some pepper in it and wasn't supersoaked like most places that make a MAYO and mac. Their version actually has flavors that raise it up to that next level WWE Smackdown dropkick. Their Asian Slaw is new to us when it comes to Hawaiian plates. I don't think there was any mayo in the sauce and it wasn't shocking your brain with a vinegar SURPRISE! Which is actually perfect when paired with their Mac. We sat down to eat and they brought our meals out to our table. They were in boxes and compostable bowls which for some odd reason...I felt like I was eating a high class meal. That's how good their food is! For reals! You're eating in the joint, from Togo set ups...and yet...I felt like it was fine dining with the quality, friendliness, and the setting! They make their Thai tea also. No instant stuff. That to me has always been a sign that people care about their craft and take pride. You bet your bottom I highly recommend this place and will only go to this place for Hawaiian food. I pondered this review the entire meal. Ordered a combo for myself of chicken and pork, and the beef ribs for my partner. Combo came with slaw and mac salad. I also ordered three differing sauces! I have a default note on my delivery service to please always double check the order. Driver pings me from the restaurant that they refused to allow him to check the order. That they never messed up. And of course, on arrival all the sauces are missing, no napkins, no cutlery, just the main dishes. The food.. healthy portions, but not great. Middle of the road, overly sweet, and nothing on the slaw at all. Just shredded cabbage. Perhaps they intended I add sauce that never arrived? FIRE FOOD Portions are sooo big and the chicken I had was SCRUMPTIOUS!! Ordered online for pickup. I live 15 minutes away so it worked out great. Just went in, said hi, said bye, and was on my way. They had indoor seating too, though. Saw this new Kenmore site while sitting at a traffic light a week ago, note to self to bookmark and visit later. Well later was earlier today after another appointment in Kirkland, pulled into Buddha Bruddah around 1130am (12/1/21). Convenient, ample mini strip mall parking lot. Very popular from the get go. Takeout orders were lined up on the front counter. People waiting for their takeout, others like me lined up to order, and one person enthusiastically having their lunch onsite at one of the surrounding tables. Clean, bright, nicely arranged. Overhead menu to peruse. Front refrigerated case full of banana cream and coconut cream pies. To the left assorted prepackaged sauces, napkins and plastic ware. To the right, large water jug and assorted cold beverages. Efficient front counter crew and even more efficient kitchen crew. Only a brief wait and takeout orders are filled and ready to go. These folks have it down pat, especially during ongoing pandemic times. Once home, the veggie spring roll app and two combos of huli huli chicken/teri beef and huli huli chicken/kalua pork were extremely generous...easily enough food for 4 or 5 people (under $54 with tax & tip). Notable very tender, flavorful, succulent proteins (chicken, pork, beef). The standard two scoop rice, one scoop mac salad were present. Bonus cole slaw, guess to keep it healthier. Note: each combo entree are packed in one hefty takeout box. Knocked off one star because despite being earlier in the business day, the steamed jasmine rice wasn't as moist and the congealed sauce drizzle not overly appealing. Personal observation though, not a deal breaker. Total for this visit is viewed as a 4.5. Still not top notch ono grindz with warm island vibes for me personally. But remains worthy of a return visit. Great location for folks in Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, Mountlake Terrace, Kenmore, and Bothell. Whoever the front desk lady is looked overworked as hell and sounded very irritated. They probably have one cook and make them work while sick because I caught his cold. Probably just a cheapo owner that doesnt hire enough people to run the place. I hate business owners that do that because I used to be a cook so zero stars. Rain was definitely the theme for the afternoon we dined here. We had just come from The Edmonds Art Festival, and were cold, we were tired -- but most of all, we were hungry. We wanted to try this place because of their Hawaiian treats. The place is bright and open with a few tables, but it seemed most everyone was getting takeout, so the tables weren't super crowded. You order what you want at the counter, and they prepare it in the kitchen. I ordered drunken noodles, while my friends ordered curry tofu and loco moco, respectively. The portions were plentiful, so I had enough for another meal. It was completely 'licious, so I can't wait to have it for lunch today. There was the perfect amount of heat and sweet, with a little zing for good measure. The service was stellar, the server was super sweet and laughed at my jokes (always a bonus when one has an ego like mine!) Quick service. Clean interior and would be a great place to stay and dine. We did takeout. Loco moco was tasty. Shrimp was a bit spicy as was drunken noodles (we noted lowest spice option). Teriyaki chicken was the house favorite. Would come again. Doesn't beat out 808 in Portland which is our favorite or Honolulu Grill in SLC which is a secondary favorite Hawaiian. Chanced on this lunch spot after a quick Yelp search in an unfamiliar neighborhood. So glad we stopped. Super friendly service, but the chicken was the star. Hawaiian chicken was delicately fried and perfectly crisp and the accompanying lime chili sauce was perfect. The grilled chicken was equally tasty, and the slaw was nicely thin sliced cabbage - excellent. Not a fan of the macaroni salad though, but I don't like anyone's version.
