The most delicious BLT on fresh ciabatta bread! Came back to get them twice last week! Nice seating surrounded by flowers out in front of the shop.

One of the several anachronistic little general stores that have managed to survive on the island, Katama General Store has change quite a bit over the years. It's still small and kind of dumpy looking from the outside but over the years has acquired more of a gourmet flavor to it. They still have great coffee and freshly baked pies, cookies, breads and scones and still offer locally grown fresh produce but now offer more of a selection of touristy gifts. They will also prepare meals for the busy tourist on the go. Not necessary a bad thing but the store is no longer as quaint and rustic as it once was. It's not all junk food, the store has great sandwiches and salads and a nice variety of juice and healthy drinks. It's a great place to stop on the way down or back from south beach since it is the only place serving food or even water between Edgartown and the beach. You can sit outside and enjoy a sandwich, some fresh produce or more importantly something to drink while you watch the world go by. I usually am dry as the sand by the time I return from hiking along the south beaches and this place is always a welcome sight. When I feel like I'm about to expire of thirst, it appears like an oasis in the desert. Sure, it's not cheap but then nothing on the Vineyard is. Even though the store has unfortunately changed a bit and now caters more to the tourist population it still manges to retain some of the old-fashioned, personality of the general stores of the years gone by. Always an enjoyable place to stop and eat, sit, talk and just enjoy the island.

This place is definitely not the cheapest place - but nor is the Vineyard, so I deal with it.

I was on vacation this week and my boyfriend and I decided to stop by this place on our second to last day for dinner and it topped all the other restaurants we went to including the much pricier ones. I got the brisket tater tots and and the Mac and cheese and both were amazing. The tots have 3 different sauces on them and the brisket was so so good. Mac and cheese had a bunch of yummy bread crumbs as well as such a rich flavor. Not to mention there was also live music (which sometimes is absolutely horrible) but the guy Jamie was so good! Definitely a great experience and If you're in the cape I'd recommend this spot 100%

Holy Moley! I hate taking the time time to write reviews, but this venue deserves at least 7 stars!…read more I haven't been to the Cape for the last two years. What a revelation Red River BBQ is. The service (thanks to Jess) was top notch and the food was well... shocking. I am so accustomed to pricey meh meals (sorry my cape restaurants... but it's true) that this unassuming venue took my breathaway. Everything was delicious, including the best fried shrimp I've ever had. The BBQ was perfectly seasoned , ribs falling off the bone, salad fresh, crunchy and blessedly unpretentious, tater tots: to die for. I'm from Los Angeles and recently returned from Nashville. This food rivals any thing I ate there and we went to some amazing restaurants. This is my new favorite joint. Fall in, you will NOT be disappointed. Oh, and I love A. Bourdain portrait. You do him proud.

My first BBQ at Bark in Plymouth and I can't wait to go back!…read more Celebrating my husband's birthday at a BBQ place was not my first choice, but he loves BBQ and I knew I had to find a restaurant to celebrate him. After mulitple searches and many recommendations we settled on Bark BBQ in Plymouth. I was in contact with one of the owners letting them know that we would be coming for my husbands birthday on a Wednesday and for lunch. I was hoping they would have candles which they did and the communication was very easy. Once we walked in (the restaurant is on Court St in Plymouth) but not near the center. It wasn't hard to find, but I was trying to make it a surprise so I put the closest place that I could find in Maps. I immediately knew the owner. I actually read all about his story from the beginning. I love it when I can support a husband and wife duo who own and operate a small but mighty restaurant together. I will try and not make this so long, but it is cute inside with tavern like table and chairs, a big selection to choose from, and really nice and passionate people. We shared the 3 meats and 3 sides. Now, I don't normally eat BBQ, but let me tell you we both devoured almost everything we ordered (hello leftovers). I personally loved the brisket and fall-off the bone ribs OMG. The cole slaw, potato salad, and baked beans were also delicious. We also washed everything down with one of their Kolsch beers from Mayflower brewery. And, for dessert we shared their banana pudding...probably the best I have ever had. If you are looking for a great BBQ place this IS WORTH THE DRIVE. From the scrumptous food to the nice staff and owners, we absolutely will be back. Only about 40 ish minutes from Quincy but even if you live a bit further, definitely make the trek to Bark BBQ because you won't be disapppointed. Cheers~

I was able to play with wood day working and I was looking for a good barbecue place I looked up…read moresome spots on Google and they came across this place, which was right around the corner. It's right off the main road in Plymouth and there's a lot of parking. Inside the place pretty spacious there's a lot on the menu that they offer but if I'm gonna go there, I need to try the ribs and mac & cheese I have to say it was pretty impressed. They have their own barbecue sauce with a few to pick from and the prices are really good if you're in the area you should definitely come out and try this place. It's worth the drive.
