Okay well if you want your hair to look amazing, text this place as fast as your fingers can. I'd been looking to change my style for a while but wasn't sure I could find what I was looking for until I saw an acquaintance had posted her hair from here and it looked amazing. I had to contact them. So first, KBarone Salon operates primarily by text (for now at least?) which was a little odd for me at first but apparently it's a rising trend in salons? Anyway, the number I texted was very responsive and I never waited more than 24 hours for a response. I first texted I was interested in a cut and color and how could I arrange that. They texted back to send current photos of my hair and my goal hair. Easy enough. After that, they worked up a price for me, took a pic and sent it, I agreed, and they texted me their availability. My appointment was for a Monday at 11 but I showed up at 10:30 because you never know with Atlanta traffic. No matter, I was greeted instantly and taken to a chair-early! Note- the current location I went to is temporary, they're located in the parking lot area of the Big Ketch. Kate herself was my colorist and she did an amazing (and FAST) job of foiling my hair. I had some work to do on my laptop, but not a single drop of color got on me. I was asked and invited to grabs snacks and drinks out of their stash several times (I was good, but they had quite a stock!). While being small, the salon was so well run, clean, and all the employees so polite. For me, a place like this is an expense (though I promise it is WORTH IT) but before I came, I was a little nervous of it being pretentious, being in such a nice area. So far from the truth. The women were just so KIND and great at listening. I went in for a fairly extreme style (bangs!) and Kate really took her time, trying several angles and techniques to deal with some of my unruly hair, and giving me a little tutorial on how to curl them myself. I made my follow up appointment before I even left. I'm just really grateful to Kate and the team for really taking time to ensure I had the look at style I wanted before I left. The owner has zero integrity and does not care at all about her clients. After 6 years and spending thousands of dollars, this salon ruined my brand new shirt. When I asked what would be done for reimbursement, I was told by one of her employees that it's not their problem. Didn't even get so much as an acknowledgment from the owner. I've never signed anything releasing them of liability should they damage my belongings, however the front desk girl kept trying to reference a non existent "policy". Please do not give this owner any of your hard earned money. She will gladly take yours, but couldn't muster up $60 to pay for my ruined brand new shirt. Part of running a business is valuing your clientele and treating them with respect. Wanted to give an update since it's been a while since my last review. Yes, I still come to KBarone Salon! I'll be very honest, I had a brief lapse of sanity and thought I would try somewhere cheaper in 2020, but it destroyed my hair and I had to spend $1000s on PRP and trying to grow my hair back after it literally almost all fell out. Such a sad time. However, my ladies at KBarone welcomed me back with open arms, got my hair right, and I've never looked back since. Whether it's the extensions, cut, color, etc. no one does it better. Not only that, but the ladies who work here are some of the most wonderful humans you'll ever meet. When was the last time your hair salon sent you flowers? Exactly. They are also always so accommodating to my schedule and I have such a weird schedule with traveling for work, so it's much appreciated. I really don't want to put how amazing Sydney is because I really don't want her books to be full and make it hard for me to see her. So, I won't elaborate. LOL But, I have never received more compliments on the cute cut she gave me. Bottom line-you looked at their reviews for a reason. You can look for cheaper and you can probably find it. But, if you care about QUALITY, KBarone is the BEST a you'll find. I'm they will save you in the long run from having to correct other people's work. Just save yourself the time and money. I could not recommend KBarone Salon enough! Grateful to find them in 2020, even moving out to Milton - it's worth making the drive into the city to visit my girls every time. They have gotten my hair healthier, longer, and even made my extension hair dreams come true time and time again. These girls nail the color every time! I honestly thought I wouldn't be a fan of rotating through more than one hairstylist - coming from a big name hair salon in Buckhead that pitched having a "focus" on one client at a time - but I was wrong. All these girls are so talented, it's like having an entire team make sure you walk out with exactly what you wanted. These girls are actual angels! They have killed it with my new hair - balayage, Bellami hair extensions, the works. I get compliments and questions on my hair daily and they have been so helpful in teaching me how to take care of my new hair to keep it healthy and extend the life of my extensions. Before my new hair, I use to just come here for trims. I have fine, frizzy/curly hair and you'd be shocked at how many bad trims I've gotten in my life. Kate is really good at helping me keep my length, but getting the dead ends off. For someone who's hair length meant so much to them (I mean growing your hair is a big task and took me years!), this was a huge deal and worth every penny. Update 4 years later (because I never check yelp and this was my first review ever).. I tried to contact the salon multiple times after my bad experience and never heard back. While I was waiting for my first wash, they clearly got the photo I sent mixed up with someone else's because they asked me to confirm the photo I sent. I could see the look of panic when I confirmed. Kate herself was the 3rd person to apply color to my hair. I came to this salon expecting to pay a premium price for premium service of color treated hair. I left 4 hours later with a color much lighter than I intended, hair damaged, and a $500 bill. Going KBarone Salon is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I've been going here for about a year now and the entire staff does an excellent job every time. I was a little nervous when first visiting as I am an African American girl with mixed race hair which is not always something hair stylists know how to really do and keep healthy. That was not an issue at all for Kate. She gave me the perfect blonde color I had been wanting for so long and the weft beaded extensions blended perfectly. I found out about K Barone Salon about a year ago after doing hours and hours of research regarding extensions in Atlanta. Their Instagram account kept popping up and I completely fell in love with every single photo of color and extensions that they posted! I have always wanted extensions but I needed to make sure I was going to the right place. Kate took her time with me during the extension process and was very helpful. Just an FYI, I probably had the shortest hair Kate had ever out extensions in at the time. I was nervous that they wouldn't blend properly with my real hair. However, I left feeling like a million bucks. All of my friends were raving and no one could tell that my "new" hair wasn't my "real" hair! In terms of color....these ladies (& Mikey) are artists. They know exactly what will good and they are also awesome at explaining their vision to you. If there is something you don't like after you wash and dry your fresh color SPEAK UP! Moving out of state meant the end of a long-term relationship - the stylist of whom I trusted with my hair for many years ;) I came to Atlanta last year looking to fill this role and reached out for references - requirements: modern approach, blonde, and extensions. One second maybe - seriously, it's impressive. Another important item was noticing each girl who referred K. Barone Salon seemed to have beautiful long-standing, healthy hair - definitely a plus. I was looking for a salon "home" rather than bouncing around trying to find a fit, and those expectations were exceeded by my first visit. Kate is extremely talented and runs her business with pride - she gets the busy lifestyle and they will do whatever they can to accommodate client needs (I am guilty of utilizing this for last-minute changes a time or two)! Every experience is personalized and enjoyable. Kate works with clients to achieve what they want and when I'm there I have full trust in the staff's ability to deliver. I have observed Kate overseeing each client in the salon regardless of whether or not they are sitting at her chair - she monitors the process and vividly cares about hair condition, service quality, and client results. I go to Hilary and have been my last three hair color visits this year. I ventured out once because I waited too long to schedule my next appointment and I immediately regretted it. Though I'm inpatient and don't love waiting for my hair to process that's really my own personal problem. Bring a book and your phone charger. Honestly, my hair has never looked better! I had a terrible experience at this salon and unless you want to be treated poorly whilst you're paying top dollar, I advise you should HARD PASS here. I called in advance and was quoted $80 for my base color and $65 to touch up my balayage "but oh it could be more just depending on what you want but not that much more". I had a 6:30PM appointment on a Tuesday. Walked in -- and it was bustling which I thought was really awesome for such a small salon. I was literally ignored for 15 minutes as I watched all the stylists and the owner walk around the salon, look at me and continue walking as I stood there. When I was finally acknowledged, I got a mason jar of wine and sat there for another 15 minutes before it was time to get my hair done. My stylist was Chrissy. She was working on myself and another girl simultaneously, which was very impressive I thought she was doing a great job being attentive to both of us, and she was a sweet girl. However, not a great colorist at the end of the day. I asked her to touch up my balayage, possibly lighten it 1 shade and give it an ashy grey/chestnut tone. When she was "done" I had a copper/orange dip-dye line where my balayage used to be. I told her I didn't like it and she fixed it by using a level 7 toner. I actually didn't mind that. I thought it looked really good as I walked out--albeit darker than what I wanted. AND TEHN they rang me up and my total plus tip was over $230. Which is actually reasonable for hair and I don't mind paying but what a GIANT misquote over the phone. The next morning, I had a head FULL of split ends, and pieces of straw-textured hair breaking into my hands. WHAT!!! I texted her about it very politely and she said "I didn't even process your hair that much" "we barely colored it" and "sleep in some conditioner". -______- Needless to say, stay away from this place. Overpriced, poor service and bad stylist. I hear Kate Baron herself is good though. Maybe try her. read more

I have put off writing this for some time, because I genuinely feel bad talking badly about a business, but I'd be doing a disservice to keep it to myself any longer. Please, please, please stay away unless you are an influencer. If you are a normal girl, without extensions... they will RUIN your hair, and encourage you to get them. I lost half a head of hair- what used to be my favorite part about me, is now what I dislike the most. I cry several times a week over what they did, and every time I show someone, their reaction makes me cry again. I know countless people who have gone here and have had the same experience as me, and I wish someone would have given me a heads up. This was my one splurge I made on myself, and the heartbreaking thing is I would have been better off going to great clips, than what they over charge for. When I first moved back to GA, I needed my highlights touched up and went to a random place someone recommended to me only to discover they were TERRIBLE and turned my hair bleach blonde---lets make that WHITE. I left in tears with white hair and a scalp that was literally burned. I freaked of course and given it was 3 days before New Years Eve threw some box color on it which turned it an orange green color. My friend was like, I told you to go to Kate in the first place---call her and see if she can help you. I called her in a panic and she got me in immediately. She literally transformed my hair and I have been forever thankful. Everytime I leave her salon, I feel like a million bucks. Worst salon experience. Total "Mean Girls". The first time I went, the owner (Kate) was bashing customers and making fun of people who had just been sitting in her chair throughout my entire appt. I was then charged over $150 more than what I was initially quoted at my "consultation" for my color appt, along with a $45 blow dry that was pushed onto me. When I politely mentioned to Kate that I felt uncomfortable with the charge, she snapped back, "Well, now you know for next time!!!"...and then laughed and proceeded to mock me infront of another coworker. (yes, this is real life). Against my better judgment, I returned a 2nd time to see a diff colorist and had an even worse experience and left in tears. I've talked to a handful of people who've had identical experiences with Kate, including brides who have been HUGELY overcharged from their initial quotes and even had to dispute with their credit card companies. Kate is talented, but her sheisty business practices and bullying tactics are not right. If you speak to former employees, you will hear the same. read more

I moved here in 2014 and I have always been so particular about my salon and who touches my hair. I had heard that KBarone was the place to go for the best balayage in Atlanta. I had seen so many incredible results and was sold. I have now been going to KBarone for 9 months now and I can say my experience each time has been above and beyond any salon I have ever been loyal to.
