Curiosity won, and I pulled over--turns out, it wasn't your typical ice cream shop. Around here, they call it a creemee--a local twist I quickly picked up on as I listened to the locals eagerly waiting for their names to be called along with their favorite flavors. Naturally, I had to go with the maple creemee. I mean, when in Vermont, how can you not try something maple? One bite in, and I was sold. It's not quite like traditional soft-serve--the texture is smoother, silkier on the tongue, and the maple flavor was rich without being overly sweet. I also couldn't resist grabbing a maple soda and some maple candy while I was at it. (Hey, don't judge--did I mention how long that hike was?) I only wish I had the stomach to try more flavors; judging by the one I had, I can only imagine how delicious the rest must be. Both were luscious and decadent. My friend got the Cherry Chocolate Chunk - Vanilla with sweet dark cherries and chocolate chips and Kahlua Fudge Brownie - Kahlua mocha ice cream with brownie bits and fudge swirl. They were equally tasty. We didn't want to waste any, so we stuffed ourselves. Had I not been 30 min from home, I'd have refrozen half for breakfast! These ice creams are rich and creamy. It's clear they're homemade and ridiculously affordable. I'll definitely be back to try them all.

And, they will put it into a cup for you, so you can take your time and really enjoy eating it. Order at the first window, then pay and get your ice cream at the second window.
