I've come back more than a few times to try different cupcakes from this bakery, and it has not disappointed! They always have a line when I stop by of people picking up bakery orders or stopping by to grab sweet treats. They have all kinds of pastries and bakery items: cakes, cake pops, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, pies, macarons, pop tarts and even packaged drinks. I've gotten a few different cupcakes from them. My favorites have been the peaches and cream, top hat cupcake, pistachio raspberry and strawberry vanilla. Their tiramisu cupcake, margarita cupcake and the key lime cupcakes all actually tasted so much like the namesakes! Their cupcakes are mostly perfectly balanced sweetness: I haven't had anything that was too sweet. Their cakes look so beautifully decorated, but I haven't tried any. They look so good though! Everything in there are so aesthetically pleasing, and if the cupcakes are anything to go by, I'd say flavor wise, the other items would meet expectations! Definitely one of my favorite places in Richmond to get myself a treat and wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

I discovered the flavor through a "cake box" and have been going back for the flavor ever since. Behind birthday cake, the cupcakes are always fresh and moist, with generous amounts of frosting and fillings (as a good cupcake should be). With the exception of the chocolate frosting, which is more of a sticky ganache (in the best way), the frosting tends to be a buttercream consistency. The workers are always kind and knowledgeable of the flavors. Beyond the basic monthly flavors, they rotate monthly flavors and usually have even more flavors from the cake box and slice section.

We were able to schedule an order to pickup about a week later, and she is so nice about being willing to make an assortment of flavors, and even packaging her new "pecan pie" ones separately, just in case anyone has an allergy. Love it! Little things like that go a long way in my book as far as service goes. The shop is small, but very cute. I love how woodsy and earthy everything looks. Her cake stands are round slices of wood and she has cute earthy decor all around. She was super busy, preparing for the pecan festival the day we were in, so the cases were empty but she was happy to tell us all about the things she had available in the back still. The customer proceeded to ask us (my mom and I) how do we feel about the cake that was prepared for a relative's 50th. We said it looked nice. However, there were water stains that destroyed the overall photo that was printed for the cake. She requested a re-print from the worker/woman and we waited for about 10 minutes then asked how long before our cupcakes were ready. She stated "about 10 more minutes" then she proceed to yell to another worker in the back. I'm unsure what was said because I don't understand Spanish that well. My mom returned the box of cupcakes with no request of a refund, only a complaint. We wanted them to know they tasted awful and we wanted them to dispose of them so they could see they were not enjoyed. Their excuse was that "pink icing tastes like that and it was the glitter".. either way, there was no resolve. Very sad because this place came highly recommended and I believe they successfully did cake in the past. FYI, the cake portion of the cupcake was so good and moist but the icing destroyed the entire cupcake. We hoped for resolve but I guess we wasted money. Honest review.
