We got a few different cupcakes. A red velvet, a carrot cake, and we got a whoopee pie. The best was the carrot cake. It was moist, perfect level of sweetness, and it did not have raisins!!! And i was very happy about that!! I would eat that again.... The whoopee pie was just chocolate cake and butter cream icing... i didn't like it... i think i was thinking it would be a whipped icing... not my cup of tea... Red velvet.... So dry... yuck... idk what happened there... but that wasn't it...

Our sleek & simple wedding cake

My new husband and I wanted to do a dessert table for our wedding and we LOVED all the desserts from The Mixing Bowl! We got just a 1 tier 2 layer cake and it arrived exactly as we asked, sleek and minimal and the perfect stage for our cake topper. We got mini cupcakes which were the perfect size for a bite and they were moist and so flavorful. The eclairs were a crowd favorite with the banana cream! They are soooo good! Eclairs are my favorite dessert and these were filled nicely and still so yummy days later. The cookies were crunchy and a great size. We got a lot of comments about how good all the desserts tasted. From the tasting box, the booking and updating our final count, the process was easy. We were so pleased with the entire spread and definitely recommend!

My wedding cake and my bouquet. And yes that was our cake topper. Lol.

This bakery made my wedding cake, and it was perfect! I have never been disappointed. I normally don't like cannolis but their cannolis are to die for! The staff are super friendly. And the atmosphere is so cute. Definitely will be back soon to get more cannolis. Lol.

Pecan sticky bun. Took a picture of it in my hand so you can see how tiny it is.

I have driven by this bakery and every time I try to go by, they are closed because it is too late in the day. I've been wanting to go to the Mixing Bowl as it has been said to be a West End favorite. I'm really not sure why. Today I finally made it by as I wanted to pick up some treats to take an office that I call on and let me tell you how I was disappointed. Their display case was sparse at best with a very small variety of items in the case. All they had were various bars, upside down cupcakes, tiny sticky buns, a few cannolis, and some cake balls. I wanted to leave and should have, but I didn't want to be rude. I got a variety of bars and then the gentleman helping me said let's add in some sticky buns. Those sticky pecan buns are so tiny. I'm very embarrassed to take this into an office as in just two bites the pecan bun will be gone. Now I feel like I need to go by another bakery to make up for the tiny pecan sticky buns. I will say that the man helping me was very polite and kind which I certainly appreciate I normally use Shindigz, Pearls, or Westhampton Bakery and they always have extremely full display cases and always have a very large variety of items from which to choose. This was a very big disappointment and I will not be going back.

This is a beautiful bakery not only for their sweets but for their sweet hearts. The team at the bakery were very kind to me and helped pick out carrot cupcakes for my husband while he recovers in the hospital. The cupcakes were delicious and perfect. Thank you for being so caring. I will be back.

I wanted a cake for my sister's 60th birthday. I sent a message as I'm in Florida and Tracey made it happen from a picture and a few texts! It was beautiful and exactly what I'd asked for! Yummy too!! I love her sweet bakery and she's always the nicest! Even if you just want a yummy treat, pop in, because you'll always find something perfect!!

The email from the bakery confirming what they would make. The cake we actually received and the weak apology.

Had a pretty lousy experience and rather weak apology and response from the bakery. Ordered a birthday cake for my sons third birthday 3 weeks in advance. They sent the confirmation email as to what the cake would entail with flavor and design and completely blew it. It was nothing at all what we agreed on for the design of the cake! And it was a horrible cake, way too dry and the frosting and filling was incredibly over sweet and disgusting. Pretty disappointing since this was the first real birthday my son will remember instead of just seeing photos of.

My mother in law has been in the hospital and we drive by this bakery often on our way back home. We decided to stop in the other day and it was a wonderful surprise find! Delicious delectables - they didn't disappoint. So many to choose from and all yummy. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We will continue to support this local treasure! Highly recommend!!

    wedding cake

We found the mixing bowl on the vendor list for our wedding venue, Fairview farm. After reading all of their great reviews, we decided they would be perfect! We went with a spice cake for our winter wedding. It was so delicious and looked amazing decorated with rosemary and cranberries! We had such a good time doing the tasting. You pick multiple cakes and frostings and they pack you a little cupcake box to try so you can mix different cakes and frostings! They also do a 1 year anniversary mini cake so you don't have to try to save a slice in the freezer! We are looking forward to that!

These guys are so amazing. They created our wedding cake and it was absolutely perfect. We worked with Phyllis for our tasting and she was so helpful and she answered all of our questions. Everyone at the wedding kept telling us how amazing it was. Unfortunately I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I wanted so I am looking forward to our anniversary cake.

Mixing Bowl went above and beyond in their communication and working with me on my twice postponed COVID wedding cake. This cake was exactly what we had envisioned, and it tasted delicious =) Could not more highly recommend.

I ordered several of the savory scones and a couple of cookies and loved them all. Both the cookies and scones vary by flavor but we had a sweet potato scone and a lavender flavored scone. I would not normally have ordered a lavender flavored anything but my wife loves it and I am glad she does. I tried it and struggled to leave any for her. I at almost the entire scone. The sweet potato was equally as good but with a much milder flavor. And the cookies....out of this world! The servers were friendly but nothing over the top. They seemed to be a cog in the machine and churning out orders. Overall, a cute little, vegan, spot with really good pastries and coffee. Head caution on the milkshakes if you are not use to vegan milkshakes. While they taste good, at least to me, they are wildly different than an cows milk milkshake. Alot of people are shocked by this and turned off by the flavor.

The ambiance was clean and orderly. Upon entering, you grab a serving tray lined with parchment and some tongs. The items are in a glass enclosed display that you have to open and place your selections on your tray for purchase. I settled on the pistachio cream filled pecan pastry, the almond twist, and strawberry shortcake. The beverage menu was extensive: matcha, flavored teas, cocoa, espresso/coffee, and more. We were greeted by pleasant staff at checkout and our orders placed in a parchment type bag for take out. They also have seating inside. The pastries were just sweet enough without being overly sweet, which I like. The pistachio cream was a perfect compliment to the pecan encrusted pastry. The almond twist was both flaky and crunchy with the sliced almonds on top, and the strawberry shortcake had layers of real strawberries, whipped topping and yellow cake that was moist. All were fresh. All in all, a great place to stop by for a morning pastry treat and tea/coffee while in the area,

They have more of a takeout situation here, so I ordered my sweets to go and ate them at home. It's pretty tiny shop. I loved the cheesecake the most. It was brusque but mostly not overtly rude, perhaps they were just busy getting ready. I ordered the charcuterie board ($28), a chicken salad croissant sandwich ($14), and the Lavender Bees Knees ($8). The drink was very pretty but not super flavorful. The chicken salad was good enough, but I think the croissant alone would have been wonderful. The charcuterie board had a substitutions I was not made aware of upon ordering (no pepper jelly, blanched almonds instead of candied pecans, and a green onion mixed type goat cheese with bacon in it instead of maple bacon goat cheese). They did add little pickles and the presentation was pretty enough, but no flowers like the owner posted photo on here. The meat was pretty thick which could be a positive or negative depending on personal preference, and the meat was decent quality. The fig jam was very good. The waitress who was helping the other tables had brought my food out but didn't check on me at all. I had to go up to the counter again to order a cinnamon roll ($8) and a coffee ($5) which she brought out to me. The coffee was nice and dark (Cameo blend) and incredibly hot. The cinnamon roll was okay, not very much cinnamon flavor but it was delicate and the icing was decent. The interior was pretty and it was a good spot to read a book and spend a morning.
