I have been coming to Kathleen's for years at both locations for their seafood. It is always fresh and whatever you buy is going to make a great meal. We particularly love the shrimp and scallops. They are always fresh and quite good. They have a nice variety of fish that is usually always portioned for you. Both locations are clean and do not have a hint of a fishy smell. The staff is always helpful and has given me advice on how to prepare my seafood. Remember to check the freezer for some great deals on fresh frozen fish. Only place I know where you can get real Louisiana frozen crawfish. read more

Checking out the new neighborhood I discovered Kathleen's Catch what a nice find indeed. Seafood is the product being sold here, mostly wild and is shipped in daily. Upon walking in you will immediately smell a "sweetness" in the air that alone will tell ya how fresh everything is. For sale: fish, shellfish, lobster tails, crab cakes, dips and even seafood pie are available fresh or frozen. I adore a calamari steak it is not an easy product to find and they have it here I am so glad to have found it as I will be back for it often. Soup is on a table and is $5.50 - $9.99 per container try the clam chowder oooh this is good and worth the price per cup. While the prices aren't cheap they are less than the Whole Foods around the corner. read more

This is the 3rd time I've shopped at Kathleen's Catch. The first time I had such a wonderful experience, but the last two times I've had issues. I've bought a salmon filet (which should be boneless and scaleless) according to an associate. Why do I come home to a fish that has scales and bones?! I included pictures. I'm so disappointed I gave this shop another chance after the last time AND I asked the associate because of the last experience and still ended up with a salmon filet that has scales and bones. KC is a great place!! I am in the food service business and the fish IS high quality and very fresh! They receive multiple seafood deliveries a week. I know because I live down the street and I see the delivery trucks. To those who posted about the lobster rolls and the presentation...., KC is NOT a restaurant! If they made them ahead of time to look pretty and all, by the time you ate them they would be mush!!! If you want a nice presentation then go to a restaurant! We visited Kathleen's Catch (John's Creek) this morning for the first time. We had the pleasure of meeting Evan, the Market Manager. Evan took the time to explain the background of the market and that everything is fresh every day. He also showed us how the fish is all portioned evenly, something that allows all pieces to cook in the same amount of time. We made our selections and mentioned that the plan was to grill the fish. Evan suggested, and selected, pieces that were a little thicker. Then, everything was packaged up. He included a good size bag of ice just to make sure our purchase stayed cool for the trip back home. We were very happy with our experience today and, if all goes well, we hope to make this a weekly trip. Thanks to Evan for all of his assistance. read more

The employee, probably the owners son (overwhelming sense of entitlement and passive aggressive) acted as if he was doing me a favor by answering a question about the dinner to go. I had the lobster roll and lobster bisque. The lobster roll was pretty good. Just needed a lemon wedge or some butter. The bun was really nice. Nice and steamy. The bisque wasn't that great though. Didn't have that much lobster in it and it had a heavy butter taste. The place itself was clean and had a nice layout of frozen and fresh seafood. I'd get the roll again. read more

Kathleen's catch is truly a gem in this area and i love supporting small businesses. I was excited to find this place so we stopped by on a Sunday. I was craving Chilean Sea Bass so bad so i asked for 4 pieces until i was told it was either $12 or $15 and i quickly changed to just 2 lol. The catch of the day was the Sockeye Salmon so we got that for my MIL. I also got a seafood/steak rub which i still have yet to try but it smelled and looked good :-/ I will definitely return next time i'm in the area when i have more time maybe with my mom! read more

We went in hoping to get some Chilean Sea bass for dinner Sunday, but they were all out. According to the friendly guy working the counter, they get fresh deliveries every day except Sunday. So the good news is they ARE open on Sundays, but the bad news is the selection is less. We picked up some Maine lobster tails, which were frozen, but delicious! You guys, here is a fundamental truth: not all fish are the same. It's like this: once you know what fresh sushi tastes like, you'll never be able to happily down frozen sushi again. Nothing truly compares to fresh fish - OMG I'm salivating already. Without exaggeration, I can confidently say that I enjoyed one of my most delicious homecooked meals of my life with the help of Kathleen's halibut. Geez - halibut isn't even my favorite fish, but dude, their halibut is freaking awesome, particularly when rubbed with the Cajun seasoning they sell. Ahhhhh-mazing. (oh my gosh, and paired with risotto and a glass of wine?! Dying.) The shop is fairly small, but generously packed with all sorts of fresh fish. Considering I stopped by on a weekend, my fish wasn't *super* fresh (as, if I'm not mistaken, they only receive deliveries weekdays), but it still tasted marvelous, a thousand times better than most other restaurants. And, I'm not talking about your uninspired chain restaurants; I'm talking about the cloth napkin ones that claim their "fresh" catch of the day is worth upwards of $17. Halibut for three rang in around $40. The prices are unsurprisingly higher than your local grocery store, but if you're serious about quality food that will make you deliriously happy, then the extra bucks are worth it. If you're hosting a party or holiday get-togethers, Kathleen's is a definite yes. As I mentioned, they also offer a wide assortment of seasonings and a few frozen treats (such as crab cakes). The staff is pleasant and knowledgeable, and I suspect they could answer just about any fish-related query you might have. A fishmonger just around the corner! What a treat. read more

We'd been looking for a good, local fish market, since we have been unsatisfied with the supermarkets in the area. Whole Foods does sometimes have good-looking seafood, but the prices are just crazy. Kathleen's is a small shop. Kathleen herself was manning the counter with one other associate when we visited on a Saturday afternoon. We liked how all their fish is traceable. They say they can tell not only what country it came from, but who caught, packaged and trucked it. There were nice oysters from the northeast (Welfleet and others), tuna, salmon and other standards as well as some special items. We opted for some Wahoo, which had just come in. It looked super-fresh. We also got some scallops. I really wanted to get crab, but that will have to wait for next time. Kathleen's also has some sauces and spices/rubs for sale, plus a few limes, potatoes and such if you just want to grab something quick as a side and avoid the supermarket altogether. There is a freezer with some frozen fish, Portuguese sardines, gumbo and a few other items as well. We were impressed with the customer service. The staff was super friendly and informative. People on here complaining about the lobster rolls on here are crazy! This is the best I've had in Atlanta and the cheapest! This place is a seafood market and not a restaurant so keep that in mind. The bun from the lobster roll at Beetlecat is really good but the entire roll is not better plus it's like double the price. That bun with Kathleen's catch would be over the top! It's already the best I've had but as a foodie I figured I would post it on here and maybe they would try that with the recipe as well! read more

Russ was terrific!!! He assisted me in finding the perfect cut of fish and went as far as making the best grilling suggestions. He shared a few of Kathleen's wonderful recipes. Kathleen's catch is a truly a gem in Johns Creek, I have been coming since they opened and have never been disappointed. I recently spent time in Maine eating lot's of lobster and paying anywhere from $19.95 - $25.00 for lobster rolls. Kathleen's is a bargain. I also happened to be in Whole Foods and bought scallops (sorry Kathleen), when cooked the pan was full of water from the scallops, I didn't realize they had been frozen. This would never happen if I had bought at Kathleens!! read more

Kathleen's Catch is a good place to get fresh fish. They have a lot of variety of fish from around the world but their fish does cost a little more than other fish stores but is worth it. I read the reviews written about this place, so I drove three hours to try it out. I ordered the tuna salad, my wife ordered the shrimp soup. The total bill was $17 and change, which did not seem like much, until I opened the paper bag and found a 4 ounce container that most restaurants would use to put the salad dressing in. Turns out that was the salad, very very overpriced for no reason! The soup was good, but again don't be fooled by this fish market. read more

I heard a lot of good things about Kathleen's catch, especially on the lobster roll. I had the most amazing lobster roll back in Austin and I was looking for a fairly comparable place here and by my description I was told this was the place. The presentation of the roll is extremely disappointing, they give you a typical hot dog bun and serve your "lobster" in a small plastic container where restaurants typically serve dressing to go. The taste was nothing short of decent, absolutely nothing to rave about. I was pretty upset at the $11.32 that I paid for the type of roll that I received. They definitely need to work on better bread and more meat on the roll. Overall 1 star for me and I won't be going back to this place. read more
