two trays of food on the ground

I went to their food truck and was happy to see that they offer half orders of their momos (these are similar to steam buns or xiao long bao, but with different filling) I ordered a half order of the pork momos and the potato and cheese balls. It sounds like the momos are typically ready made, but the cheese balls are cooked to order. The price and portion size was reasonable. They offer the option of a mild or spicy sauce with the momos - I opted for spicy (it has a nice kick but not overly spicy). The cheese balls were hot, fresh and delicious! Had kind of a rice like texture on the inside, and very flavorful but even better dipped in the spicy sauce. The momos were good, but a bit on the drier side. Unfortunately, the top of the dough part seemed a little undercooked (the reason for 4 stars), otherwise it would have been much better. A note about the dessert options - they had a mango coconut ice cream desert on the menu. I ended up not ordering it, but I saw someone get one and I literally thought they had just gotten a side of sauce at first. It came in one of those small plastic sauce containers, maybe a slightly larger size (3 or 4oz, maybe?), and looked very different from the photo. I heard that it cost $4.50, so be prepared for the size and presentation if you order that dessert. I do not know how it tasted - maybe it was delicious and worth it!

Wanted to try Kathmandu Momocha food truck for a while now.. Been following them ardently on Instagram to get their schedule so I can go and devour their himalayan momos (steamed dumplings).. Tried their chicken momos (the best), beef momos, veg pakoras, potato and cheese balls.. everything was really good but I personally loved their chicken momos.. the sauce gives these momos a very nice flavor and I wanted more of that sauce.. I wish they could offer different spice levels for their sauce so I could try something hotter.. Since we ordered togo the sauce was loaded in tiny containers vs sauce spread over the momos if you eat it there (this lets the momos soak up the sauce really well and enhances the taste in my opinion).. I can see myself craving these weekly so I am going to stalk their food truck schedule on Insta.. They typically are in Ballard at least twice a week next to some brewery so that gives me a nice reason to have a beer and eat momos.. Pretty authentic.. Definitely recommend these guys..

Tried the chicken dumplings (half order) and the potato cheese balls. The food truck was at the Shoreline Farmers market. Both items were flavorful, and the potato cheese balls were freshly made. The dumpling skin is thicker and chewier than I am use to. I chose the mild sauce (they also have a hot sauce) and it was tasty. They have a gluten free option (veggie pakour) but they use the same fryer as glutinous items; which is absolutely understandable.

So happy to see this Nepali restaurant in my old work neighborhood. The place is decorated like typical Newari style venue. The food is great, even in addition to the momos. Staff and ow eta are super friendly and attentive. While very delicious, I think the dumplings may be mechanically closed versus the more traditional had pinching. Check it out!

Lorenzo opened Paseo in 1994, where his popular Cuban roast pork sandwiches were regarded as among the best in the country. After years of local expansion, Paseo abruptly filed for bankruptcy in 2014. The brand was subsequently bought out by a local entrepreneur, but the sale did not include Paseo's secret recipes (the reboot attempted to reverse engineer the sandwiches with varying success). So, in 2015, Lorenzo's sons revived Paseo under a new name, Un Bien, armed with their father's original recipes. Nowadays, Un Bien is generally regarded as superior to Paseo, and you can grab their Caribbean sandos at one of the three locations across Seattle. You can't miss the pastel pink-and-teal palette of the original shack on an otherwise drab block of Ballard. As you approach the wooden window, you are greeted by the aroma of sauteed meats and veggies. Communal laquered wood benches are lined up underneath a covered pergola. Fifties hits ring respectfully around the kitchen. My partner and I visited for late weekday lunch, and we ordered immediately. We opted to focus on the signature pork shoulder, so we split the #1 Caribbean Roast and #2 The Press. Across both sandwiches, we were impressed by the tender pork, rich onions, lemon-forward aioli, and marinade-soaked baguette. The standard roast pork sandwich added on pickled jalapenos and crisp romaine, culminating in a dynamic flavor that accentuated the meat. Meanwhile, The Press featured tart banana peppers, smoked ham, and melty Swiss, amping up the sweet and savory flavors alike; we agreed that this extra-messy sandwich just edged out the standard version. Our order took just minutes to be prepared, and the bill just topped $30. Despite the fanfare, I still found myself surprised by just how satisfying Un Bien's sandwiches turned out to be. Across all the food I ate in Seattle, only these pork sandwiches would be worth a return visit, even if I had to venture out of my way.

Messy, pricey, totally overrated…read more My family and I visited Un Bien and arrived approximately 45 minutes before closing. We ordered promptly, but were told we would only have about 10 minutes to use the seating area before it closed. When we asked for clarification because the restaurant was advertised as being open until 9:00 PM, staff confirmed they were open until then but said the seating area would close earlier anyway. After receiving our food, we were told not to sit down and were asked to leave the seating area altogether. The interaction felt abrupt and discourteous, especially given that we had arrived well before closing and had purchased food with the expectation that we could eat on-site. The food itself was average, but the poor customer service and inconsistent messaging about seating left a much stronger impression than the meal. There are other better places. Skip.

The garlicky oily dipping sauce added even more flavor to the savory empanadas and gave me dragon breath all day but it was so worth it! There is a good amount of seating here. I love the futbol decor and airiness of the place. There is some lot parking out front and street parking is also an option and where I found parking. The only downside to my experience coming here recently is how they forgot to include my ham & cheese empanada in the to go box that was nicely packaged and sealed so I couldn't check to see if it was there until I unpacked my order and found that it was not there. I didn't want to deal with the hassle of calling them to get a refund for it or drive back for it. Also, I don't feel like giving them one less star right now on this review because of it. I'm considering it this time as a natural human error and donation to this nice small business. Hopefully, they will be more careful and efficient my next visit because their product was very tasty and I do want go back there again soon to try more.

Outsiders has a solid smoky, flavorful bbq for sure! I had the burnt ends which were pleasantly fatty, as they should be. The fries were crispy and not greasy. But Indian-Nepali Kitchen is one of Seattle's most sought-after spots for affordable eats. But don't sleep on the rest of INK's broad menu of South Asian fare -- The Infatuation magazine even considers it to be one of the best restaurants in the city, full stop. INK shares a strip mall with a bodega and nail salon. Black cushioned chairs are pressed up to lacquered wood tables, and the tan walls are decorated with an assortment of cultural tchotchkes. Bollywood music videos play on the main dining room's single flatscreen, while images of Nepali mountain ranges flash on the screen in the accessory dining room. My partner and I dined at INK for weekday dinner on our drive up to the North Cascades, and we had the dining room to ourselves. Only a handful of takeout patrons rolled through during our visit. We kicked off our meal with the Mixed Appetizer. The Vegetable Pakora component was a consensus hit. The rich, crispy bites functioned well on their own and were fun conduits for the fragrant mint sauce and the tart tamarind sauce. In comparison, the samosas were forgettable, sporting overwhelmingly thick shells and hit-or-miss fillings. Of the three varieties, only the earthy ground lamb was worth finishing. Next, we tried the Combo Momo platter. Admittedly, the signature momos were surprisingly mediocre. Across the varieties, the wonton-like Fried Momo was the clear winner with its exciting texture without overpowering the delicate filling flavor. Meanwhile, the standard steamed momos tasted like something out of the frozen section, the Chili Momos were dominated by fast-food-quality sweet-and-sour sauce, and the Sandheko Momos had an unassuming, generally savory curry flavor (which was far outdone by the tangy side of house chutney). For our entree, we were very impressed by the Butter Curry Lamb. The thick curry broth was vibrant and dynamic; we sipped it by the spoonful. The tough lamb felt like an afterthought. The Garlic Basil Bread wasn't particularly basil-y, but the naan slices were pillowy, flaky, and addictively buttery. To drink, we shared an Iced Chai. The tea was more spiced than sweet; the average Starbucks patron might turn their nose up to it, but the light drink was a welcome contrast to the dense entrees. For dessert, we opted for the Gulab Jamun: the ping pong-sized cheese balls were deceptively dense, each packing a rich, syrupy punch. The service was quick and efficient, and our bill worked out to about $75 (after tax and tip). The flavors topped out at very good, but never quite achieved greatness. The portions were generous -- we probably could have done without the momos and still had a satisfyingly hearty meal. For a no-frills meal that will, at a minimum, be tasty, INK is a safe bet.
