Cue the alarms that would make most people quite nervous because every girl loves her hair, and you don't want to be caught between her and a "short hair don't care" gone wrong moment. Mehr made me feel comfortable from the start as it was very clear that she knew what she was doing. I got a deva cut and she also styled it afterwards using the deva products. She asked insightful questions about my routine and products and helped me feel comfortable about trusting her with my curls. I assumed that I would need a "big chop" to prevent my curls from being weighed down, however she reassured me that a small trim would help with curl definition and shape and that if I wanted more cut after styling she would be happy to oblige. During the process, Mehr walked me through every step and gave numerous tips on how to speed up drying time and get more consistent results at home. She is extremely knowledgeable and patient while demonstrating methods for working with curly hair. She also provided both budget and high-end product recommendations and has been incredibly gracious in answering my questions both during the appointment and by email since then. Though I still haven't perfected the techniques Mehr demonstrated, I've noticed marked improvement in my hair since visiting her salon - and I'm so happy she convinced me to retain my length! When I met her, I immediately love her energy, her decorated studio, we hit it off right away. I love her honesty and I trust her opinions. She is straightforward, will tell you if something looks good or not. She offers many options that fits what you are looking for, she will tell you the plus and minus of different options. For me, a big chunk of grey is around my face plus some others scattered throughout. I wanted something low maintenance and no longer want to maintain a brown base color with highlights. I have dark hair naturally. I was tired of looking at brown hair and going lighter and lighter to just hide my grey while losing the shine to my hair. Paullette suggested I try money piece by bleaching the hair around my face to ashy silver and dye the rest of my hair dark brown. I was hesitant at first, but LOVE LOVE LOVE the result. I can embrace my whites, take advantage of it and have a trendy look instead of the typical white roots then dark hair chunky look.
